Im doing a 21 Yukon LM2. Something is stuck in the middle rear Im afraid to lift it more in case something breaks. Any ideas? Everything else is good
Or if you don't need a truck telling you when the coolant is low just make a jumper across the 2 wires that plug into the sensor or snip and twist together.
Yes, I suppose that will work. It’s a pretty expensive engine though… I think I’d rather just have a low coolant warning switch to save the day. Nobody opens their hood anymore to check fluids.
@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist Since 1978 I've never owned a vehile that told me when the coolant was low, we always watched the temp gauge.
@crashdsnowman1 yeah same here I understand. The general public doesn’t check their fluids or even look at the temperature gauge.
This is exactly what my 2019 gmc acadia denali does. And the fan is so loud when the ac doesn't work. Sometimes I can get it to work by revving the engine up real high but it only last a few days then its back to no ac and a loud fan.
Sounds like it need checked out. Make sure it has coolant in it at least.
I bet this is a GM product
GM product yes.
What is that any rubber tube?
Heat shrink tubing.
My hats off to you sir, most techs don’t offer free diagnostics to everyone who makes a comment. With that said, I’m searching for help on my company’s 2023 5500 Chevy. It keeps throwing a service exhaust fluid system fault and reduces it to 55mph for 75 miles. Dealer has replaced the transfer case sensor, DEF injector and up stream NOX sensor. The truck has 3k miles and idk if it has ever done a regen. The last code is through was a P20EE and P2BAA. Could this all be caused by expired DEF fluid in the tank?
I do what I can. Exhaust fluid quality is at the top of the list when it comes to codes and system operation. Thanks.
I just bought a Silverado with the 5.3 and it turns on but dies immediately unless I give it gas. Any ideas on what it may be? The security light comes on once I open the door
Possible theft system fault. Needs diagnosis.
That will cause a power loss.
It sure can.
This is the worst car Pontiac never made. I have a 2010 with low miles with problem after problem. Meanwhile I have a 2007 Pontiac G5 now 17 years old , driving it for 13 of those years with no problems.
They’re ok with good upkeep and maintenance. They don’t tolerate rust environments though, the car and wiring harness rots away.
You can probably blame some of that kind of stuff onto the damn bean counters
Almost certainly
I like your video I have a question I have the same vehicle After going 65 mph stay at 300 rpm Would you happen to know why by any chance let me know
And I accelerate to speed limit 75 an RPM stay around 300 does not go back down to its normal RPM
Thanks. What year make and model do you have exactly? If I remember correctly these cars only have a 4 speed transmission so 3000 rpm at 65mph-75mph sounds about right.
Yes great video
Thanks
I had to use a Dremel once to shave down my lenses to fit some CVS reading frames 😂
I love that idea!
@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist I can't take credit. I got the idea from here on CZcams lol.
@certifiedyaminspector-dadd6224 either way you have contributed to the spread of knowledge… Because I learned the idea from you. Thanks.
You dont hold the gun that close to the heat shrink. He melted part of it onto the frames.
Oopsie
dead hv battery maybe? could also be a cell imbalance. pop the hood and let the engine run, will the battery charge at all?
This one ended up being a faulty contactor assembly
I have a scion frs 2016, I never drive vigorously or step on the gas pedal , I always drive calmly but I recently got the check engine light for the first time ever since I got this car, took it to autozone and got P0420 and C1294 codes (my windows are having problems going down idk if it has anything to do with that) , employee recommended new oxygen sensors, and I haven’t changed my transmission fluid, do you have any input for me?
Check for exhaust leaks first. Oxygen sensors maybe, but usually not. Thanks.
@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist Tried putting in catacleaner and driving on a little under a quarter tank for about 12-15 miles with 3,000rpm at certain points of the drive, then filled my tank halfway and used a bottle of seafoam fuel injector cleaner and still had the check engine light until I parked and turned my car back on and it was gone!
Brother i need help P1457 Changed all these parts 1. Purge valve 2. Soleniod 3. Canister 4. Gas cap 5. Vent valve Did smoke test couldnt find Please help

@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist no send me
@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist just have obd reader
@mercpindi5522 well it would be helpful if you had a scan tool and a wiring schematic. You’ll have to test the wiring from the ECM to the solenoids.
Almost always cylinder 5
Yes I see almost always cylinder 4 or cylinder 5.
OMG wow!!!! So I did things a bit different than I was planning. I bought two pumps from harbor freight for $8 each. Never pulled the pan (only 39k miles), pulled out 6 quarts of DIRTY fluid, I was surprised how dirty it was, nearly black. Then filled 6 clean quarts, then drained again after running the car 10 mins through gears, etc. I drained 4 different times and filled 4 times. Even on the last attempt the fluid was still far from new looking. But I decided to give it a drive, INSTANTLY the trans shifted smooth through all gears and the shudder was gone! I have been losing sleep over this for weeks. It wasn’t that hard to do at all even on a corvette where it’s much tighter working space. Not going to lie I was skeptical on this working. Before I had a hard shift into 5/6/7 gears and then a shudder after it was in those gears. Not it’s smooth shifting and shudder is gone. I pulled out 23 quarts total and put 23 clean quarts in. I estimate that the fluid is still only 75% fresh. My backup plan was if this didn’t fix it, I will drop the pan and change the filter and fill it once more. But I am feeling blessed that this did the trick! WOW thank god! The guy sold me the car knowing it had this problem, but clearly didn’t inform me. What a prick!
Nice. Glad to hear you had some success. It would be a good idea to replace the filter and clean the pan at that mileage. Thanks.
What is that material
Heat shrink tubing
Just had this same issues. Got the new under hood fuse box and fix the issue. Thanks for the help
I’m glad you found it helpful. Thanks.
Would this going bad cause my oil pressure to randomly jump from 40 or so psi to about 70? It happens mostly when its cold at around 1500 RPM sometimes immediately when tou crank it and its idling. Its not a gradual jump either like you see with normal acceleration. It's sudden and goes back to normal within about 1/2 a second. I've replaced the oil pressure sensor with a new GM sensor and it still does it. No cel so im not too concerned but I'd like to know what's happening. Thanks!
Maybe, but usually if there is something wrong with the dual stage oil pump there will be fault codes. Thanks.
Hi sir im from India Chevrolet Cruze automatic transmission vehicle gearbox problem soo Change 2hand gearbox gear selection work but vehicle not move
The transmission likely needs to be programmed to the vehicle. A used 2nd hand transmission will be difficult to program without specialized equipment. You can swap the old TECHM assembly that contains the original programming if needed and if it is still functional. Also be mindful of setting the proper fluid level, these transmissions are sensitive to setting the fluid level by temperature. Thanks.
I had a 19 ford escape that was an auction special not recognizing the smart key that thing was a disaster and 3 modules later it starts
Auction cars are always an adventure. One of these days I’m going to start buying auction cars for new diagnostic challenges. Thanks.
I suspect one of the rollers on one of my lifters is just starting to go bad. I get an intermittent very light ticking at idle that comes and goes not near this bad. It’s not a low end knock/squeak and it’s not a sparking noise for coils/wires. I’m hoping if I tear into it asap and stop driving it I can catch it before it ruins the camshaft. Has 230k miles and never had lifters done yet, 2015 Tahoe LT. Most noticeable at cold start idle, changes with engine speed but goes away as the engine gets to say 1400+ rpm. Other times it goes away on its own at idle so I’m guessing it’s bound to be the roller going bad on one of them
That sounds likely. It could also have broken exhaust manifold bolts cause a tick noise when cold.
Question I noticed the block had sealant right before you installed the oil pan, I might have missed when the sealant was applied. Do I add. Sealant to the block or is that sealant on block front the sealant on oil pan? Your video showed me why I have oil leaking. I didn’t add sealant behind the timing cover gasket and I rubbed oil on the crankshaft seal, all bad. I’m going to have to redo it for sure. Thanks for the video
It’s optional. I put a light film on the block side before installing because the oil kept running down and getting on the surface. Thanks.
@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialistthat’s good enough for me. Thanks for responding. I’ll be doing this once again, but thanks to your video it will be done correctly this time.
I see this a lot in the heavy duty truck industry. Drivers putting diesel in the DEF tank ( the diesel nozzle is way bigger so they really must be committed to it). I’ve seen it only once where a semi truck got towed to the shop with the fuel tanks full of DEF!
Ouch. That sounds like an expensive tow bill too.
@@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist yes, over something like that one can lose his/her job.
2018 colorado zr2 did this at 100k km. flush fixed it (unfortunately out of warranty by the time I decided to get it looked at.)
Yes the flush fixes most of them. Glad to hear it wasn’t something more serious. Thanks.
I get the P2002 and the dealership says they don't see a problem. So we reset it and go on. What is interesting is that I get it always right after a regen. Me thinks there is a crack in the DBF but the dealership won't do anything about it. 64 more miles and I hit 60k miles. This is on a 2020 2500hd L5p. I just hit the 50 mark of codes since new. 50 codes from when I purchased it new. It's nuts saying that number out loud.
That is a possibility. We put a white towel over the exhaust and then rev it up several times, if the towel turns black with soot it has a faulty DPF. I might have a video showing that somewhere.. can’t remember. Emissions regulations have made modern diesel engines cost prohibitive to own and operate unfortunately.
I thought IRWIN are good at this😬
Made in USA IRWIN maybe. The cheap stuff doesn’t cut well and doesn’t last.

The funny thing is I have the GMC Sierra professional grade son saved in my music playlist. I love the old commercials😂 this song goes perfectly with GM Ceminence front
Back when they built them to work and not just look good in an HOA community.
do you know what's weird about this Yukon Denalis when you had the original shifter from 2007 to 2013 and has stitches on itbut when you get a replacement from GM it's just glued on with no leather Stitch
Yeah and I don’t think you can swap the stitched part.
It has to be a 6 speed to work
the funniest thing is people can fix the batteries in the 09 but you can't rebuild the batteries in a 04
Yep…. Future plans for this vehicle are to possibly take his first transmission apart for the non-available hard parts and rebuild the second one with new goodies and clutches. From the research I’ve done it’s rare to repair these transmissions, so I might be one of the few. Stay tuned.
do you have any customers that bring your old Denalis and spend s*** tons of money
All the time. The older stuff seems to hold up better than all this fancy expensive new technology.
That's true.
can you make a 3.6 compare reliable as the almighty 3.8
The early generation 3.6L is a lost cause. The new generation that had the timing chains redesigned seem to be very solid. I don’t think they’d survive what a 3.8L could survive though lol. Thanks.
Thanks brother
Thanks for watching!

Hi, please give some advice on how to save my car. It’s a Ford Everest 3.2 diesel. I accidentally put AdBlue in the fuel tank and ran it through the fuel system. Now the engine doesn’t start. What should I do to fix it? Can it be fixed?
Replace everything that fuel touches. Thanks.
what would you recommend if everything you have in the vid is happening but the reservoir is empty (hot- after driving and cold- after sitting for hrs)?
Need to diagnose the coolant leak. That’s the only reason it would be low. Thanks.
Great video! I've been getting PO26D for over a year now. It cleared during winter , but it came back when weather got over 85 deg here in Texas. How do I know if a connector is bad? I have a Autel scanner , but I'm not an actual mechanic and only have little use with it.. Will it show a bunch of misfires and should I look and see if the injector qty is too high?
The fuel injector connector will almost never cause P026D. It will cause misfires and injector circuit codes primarily. If one injector has high or low quantity compared to the others… First test engine compression, and if the compression is even then I would suspect a faulty fuel injector or more likely fuel contamination. Take a fuel sample and check for gasoline, exhaust fluid, water, etc. This can also happen if you use low sulfur off road diesel instead of ultra low sulfur. Thanks.
