    I went to the junkyard and I saw a 2002 escalade. I love the seats and those.

      Yeah they’re pretty nice. I’m not too crazy about leather seats when it’s too hot or cold though.
      I kind of wanted to swap an Escalade exhaust onto my Yukon.

    Onstar molecules are very common for the older vehicles to fail and it costs. I think it causes. To fail and it doesn't have a connection to the transmission and the transmission prop. won't show.

    I just installed Oem equivalent headlights. God damn for a 165 bucks from Is parts Geek With the harness with the bulbs , just the harness is seventy five dollarsWith the harness with the bulbs, just the harness is $75. For one. Headlights are over $200. Am I utter after market LED headlights? The reason why I changed them because it had the really hard. To change H1 h 3 bulbs with a little clip and 2 Teeny screws.

      I bought new OEM headlights for my Yukon. Worth the extra cost because the cheap ones always end up getting cloudy from the sun.
      The theory goes a human eyeball sees the yellow colored light better than blue-white from an LED so I just use good basic halogens and have them aimed nicely.
      I have a big bright LED light bar I might mount at some point though.

    Got some bad news. My truck's frame has a hole in it now. It's near the fuel tank on the bottom. It's about Foot long

      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 5 měsíci

      A big rust hole? Sorry to hear that.

    • @danielb-c9100
      @danielb-c9100 Před 5 měsíci

      It's not big of rust hole, but it's noisible. I hope I can get it fixed. Thank God is a popular truck. You can get the section for $235. The hard part is finding a place to weld it.

    • @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist
      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 5 měsíci

      @danielb-c9100 good to know. Hopefully the frame isn’t covered in rust so it can be welded.

      @@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist Tried to recover the radio with usb and it made everything worse. Radio and ipc went black. Called tac, they told me to follow the same bulletin in this video. Didn't work of course but I still had to do the song and dance. Had to call Techline so they could remote in to my computer just for them to come to the same conclusion. Serial data authentication failed because of the radio no amount of battery cycling fixed it. Radio module ordered, no eta. This is the first one I've seen where an sps update genuinely broke something. Btw, you can't order a radio for a Colorado without a tac case # a bulletin just came out a few weeks ago about it

    • @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist
      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 4 měsíci

      @firstlast--- well isn’t that just about a beech and a half… all I could suggest is to maybe try a different USB stick because I have had multiple instances where a certain brand of USB stick just would not work…. Even at the training center we all learned a little something new about USB sticks because we had a brand new 2023 that would recognize one brand over the other and we tried it in multiple cars in the parking lot, nothing wrong with the USB stick, it just didn’t play well with this particular system.
      I have also had USB updates where it says it will initiate and it starts to load the progress bar and then it fails. And then I try a different brand USB stick and it goes through on the first try.
      If you can still get SPS to read the part number off the radio then I would wonder if you could still recover it… interesting.

      @@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist Part of the problem is the insane usb requirement for these vehicles. Management won't buy them and not everyone has one. Not to assume things in a diagnosis but I've used this particular usb stick many times without issue. It could be messed up but I doubt it. What I think is more likely is that either the radio or the update had corrupted software. With unlimited time and access to older software I bet I could get it going again. Is what it is.
      I had a radio complaint on a Silverado a few months back where we updated it and put a new radio in it. Made a tac case and they told me to tell the customer to never ever use an aftermarket phone cord. They communicate with the radio, something about the cheap usb cords don't play nice with the radio even when a phone isn't plugged in. So now whenever I story out a radio update I make a note to only use oem phone cords and to only use compatible devices with a link to chevys website. If you look up Chevy phone compatibility it will come right up. Taking out the aftermarket phone cords has so far solved every radio problem I've had that an update didn't fix

      @@DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist On an unrelated note, I have another broken Colorado. 2023. 6k miles. Can't remember the exact code off the top of my head. Lost the ignition circuit to the trans control module. Triple prong fuse located in the instrument panel that was half blown. Flipped the fuse around and the codes went away. I blew the fuse again either messing with the wiring harness or load testing the wiring with a test light. Whatever I did it went from an intermittent short to constant. I tried putting in a couple two prong fuses and they blew instantly. With my meter hooked up at the ignition circuit @ trans module connector and battery positive I had 12 volts. Wherever that wire is it has a good ground lol. I'm half tempted to make a tac case. I doubt they'll be much help but I figure it will help someone else if they run into the same problem. That one is going to sit until Monday I have too much going on to keep messing with it tomorrow. These trucks look and drive nice but they've had so many electrical problems already

    I got a new tool to remove clips, and I tested it. There's a clip on the alternator. There is a bracket that supports the engine harness. What is that clip around it? And it's black. Clip retainer.

    • @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist
      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 6 měsíci

      Christmas tree pushpin type clips.
      And then there are the clips that hold the engine harness. You can usually pop them open with a small screwdriver, and avoid breaking them.
      Thanks.

      No part number unfortunately. There are assortment kits available online and at auto parts stored for pretty cheap though.

    I found out a 2008 Silverado has rain sunshine wipers. Does the LTZ come standard with that? And how do you activate it

    • @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist
      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 6 měsíci

      Only if the sticker in your glove box says CE1
      It is activated by turning on the delay wipers...the system doesn't work that well.

    • @danielb-c9100
      @danielb-c9100 Před 6 měsíci

      How do you turn it on

    • @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist
      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 6 měsíci

      You just turn the wiper switch on to any delay setting and the system is supposed to be automatically turned on. The delay switch adjusts the sensitivity.

    Where you get the file at to put on the usb? Download it from tech line?

    • @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist
      @DadsGarageDiagnosticSpecialist  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes, you have to download the USB update file from Techline connect.

    Both of my powers, one bar, broke on both seats. The driver's side was broken when I got it. Pass it on your side, just broke. That's gonna cough me a $1000 in parts. And probably another 1000 in the labor. And no, I don't want to get used to it because my seats are meant.😂 Is typical GM plastic and I think I need both power, one bars Assembly

    GM once a reliable company trucks wash or 200000 miles G. M. Now, these days at 125000 miles, wifters goes out AC. The condenser has a factory bad weld. That cracks, and you have to replace it, and you have to transmission shutter.😂 But the truck stole a pretty d*** good though if I had money the last newest truck I'd probably be at 2015 high country blue. Brown leather 62 would have sunroof and every other option. And what's the current number for the sea cover just in case? And with a heated steering wheel.
