honestly just pick the right movement. and pick the right weight. you have to control the weight, don't let the weight control you. if you want explosives power then you have to condition not only your muscle but you nervous system. this is how you do it. for example lets say we are bench pressing. let the weight come down slowly in a control manner. once the bar is low enough you are going to explode and push the weight back up and squeeze you muscles at the top of the movement. one rep at a time. your mindset should be "i need to explode the weight back up faster than last time" you can do this with any movement. i cannot emphasize how you need to control the weight on the negative part of the lift with out losing the tension. this is going to prevent injury and make you safely elongate the muscle and get it ready to explode for the positive part of the movement. study shows' muscle gain more muscle starting from the stretch position

I lift every day and just do what feels good (mostly bodyweight stuff like pushups, squats, situps, and core twists) while adding variation to each lift. I do biceps every day, but only maybe do one or 2 sets of light weight, adding more reps on the second set for burnout/pump. Not enough to cause complete failure, but muscles that aren't pumped full of blood haven't been worked out fully, in my opinion. I know pump doesn't mean strength, but man, it makes you look good, lol. It also translates to fighting because the more you get used to having pumped muscles, the easier it gets while grappling or striking continuously because most people get pumped to the point where they can't move their muscles anymore. Having pump all the time seems to help and translate into my MMA training.
Do speed ball ,cocaine gives you an obvious speed buff while dope balances you out. I'm joking ofc.

I just can't understand how even YOU missed the boat on wearing 1/2, 1 or 1.5 pound weighted gloves during shadowboxing. I shadow kickbox wearing 1 pound weighted gloves ....... while in a 130 degree infrared sauna for a minimum of 20-25 minutes (UFC championship fight length). Weighted gloves are so much easier to wear to develop explosive upper body speed. I wear them during the first 25 minutes of a 40 minute workout in the sauna. I see or hear no one mentioning how superior it is to wear and train in weighted gloves for shadowboxing. I warm up this way and even stand on a body board and twist while shadow boxing. PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME CREATE A VIDEO ( this week) to display the merits of training with 1 lbs weighted gloves. I used to wear 2 lbs. weighted gloves but I fell on my elbow too many times ice skating and have to wait until it heals before I return to that weighted but 1 lbs. is more than adequate for a 20 - 25 minute shadow boxing or shadow kickboxing workout......... in the sauna.
