I've just come across this video. Yellowstone and Rip and Beth are current tv examples of different kinds of "dangerous" each in their own way and their own business. Rip brings out the "womanliness" in Beth. Beth brings out the gentle "husband-protector" in Rip. Strong mothers make strong sons and daughters. Loving, caring fathers who are protective of their families are excellent examples to their sons and daughters. Girls need to know what the "right man" acts like. He's there, present, and supportive but if there's real trouble-he stops it. No one needs a "bully". Those are insecure people who need to push people around to make themselves feel powerful. They can never be "protectors". Knowing the difference is the first step to understanding between "protective dangerous" and just a "felon waiting to happen."

I struggle with being calm when I am disrespected but I find that it helps to stay quiet and not escalate things because if they get escalated and I'm already LIVID then that ain't good for anyone. If someone's family member or fiancée or wife says something wrong, I will defend myself in a right kind of manner, but don't push me when I say that I was wronged. Been there, handled that.
