    I definitely question if my body can manage its own weight. I hear about set point theory and am concerned what if I have pushed my set point up higher than it naturally would have been (without dietiting, bingeing, etc)? What if it is stuck in this very fat place and thinks this is the new normal?

    Dear Rachael, thank you soo much 4 your Videos! I am recovering from an ed that I have had since I was 12. I went through every Phase with the bingeing, the bulimia and anorexia wich hit me to rock bottom. Since 1 year I started to take recovery seriously and look at the Real problems that caused my ed. Your Videos helped me SO much I felt so understood by you although we don’t even know each other. You helped me reflecting on myself so much and you helped me not giving up on myself. Thank you 4 telling your story and doing everything you do, I am sure it helps so many people out there!

    Wow I'm actually blown away. I really relate to everything you've said, you're just maybe a couple steps ahead of me in healing your relationship to food. I don't mean that comparatively, I mean more that you're able to articulate things I'm only just starting to sense. Like I'm in the middle of my perspective transitioning from desperately trying to control my food / lose weight BEFORE and SO THAT I can achieve all the other things I want (like all the things. Every single goal I have, losing weight must precede). After personal experience myself, I'm realizing this might literally not be a possibility for me. And what does that mean moving forward. Do I really need/ want that "dream body" that much? Or do I just want all the things I *attach* to that dream body-- true love, a confident, vibrant version of myself, who operates from her own inner compass, and all the career and creative goals that come along with that embodiment. It's so much easier said than done, and I really feel like there's a mourning period for those of us who have dedicated, "lost" years of our youth to the pursuit of an impossible body. It's fucked up stuff y'all, all those messages we get about how we're not quite good enough. Thank you for this video! It is lovely lovely lovely work you're doing!

    I sometimes struggle with being satisfied with what I ate, however still wanting more even when I am full, I know there is mental restriction, and thoughts from previous dieting episodes and restrictive mindset. Nevertheless, I still believe that as a "normal" eater you are able to stop eating without always wanting more and being able to move forward after the meal. Any suggestions, thoughts or pause techniques on this? Greatly appreciated ❤😊 Another point reaching this fullness point and starting to feel uncomfortable and abstaining from eating more not because of restriction but because of this awkward feeling afterward.

    Something I learned similarly to this is if you start feeling self conscious about your looks/clothing/weight anything, ask yourself “what is the purpose of this event?” Like, to be with my friends, or to feel more connected with my body, or to experience new things. The purpose is not to show everyone your hair or your stomach in that shirt. And if you look at photos of yourself and feel self conscious, think about the purpose of that event as well, and the good feelings you felt.

    So this makes me think as I raise my kids, that I want to give them the chance to learn these skills to grow in their confidence. I really understand you. I was just praying last night about seeing family and the feelings that come with that related to body image and I came up with a bunch of “mini goals” I have for that time and I feel so good and hopeful going into it. Ive never thought that way before but it’s incredibly helpful ❤️ thank you for your wisdom!

    In my case it's both. Sometimes I really don't feel good enough to go out because of my health issues. But mostly I miss a lot of things because of the perception of my body, I don't want to be seen until I'm working on my relationship with my body, my health, the food. 😅

    It's like a bad hair day. If my hair is fine I feel fine and selfconfident. If my hair is bad I want to hide it and I don't feel well. But it's a longer term with my body. I don't feel selfconfident 😔

    Randomly cached this video and 13 minutes I was crying like a baby because all story about me… I’m on my way to find my balance with nutrition, have a steady healthy appetite, not obsessed with food as I was, do some progress but still overeat “healthy“ nutritionally rich food. Wanna manage it.

    It's almost word for word what I went through with my relationship to my weight and food. I called it a food addiction back then - or an obsession. After trying everything my whole life to lose weight, one day I gave up and said "I guess I should start accepting and appreciating my body as it is". After that it felt like the weight went away on its own. I started eating better without even trying. I've also become one of "those people" who can eat without thinking about it and I've been the same weight for 10 years now. It's amazing to hear other people going through exactly the same thing. It has been one of the biggest revelations in my life.

    wow, i'm only 6 minutes in and this is already the most relatable weight loss/weight journey video i've ever seen in my life. knowing more abt weight loss than anyone else, struggling for 10 years despite that, gradually gaining more weight, constantly making and failing plans, recording videos lecturing myself, gradually getting worse at sticking to plans (except i was never really able to stick to it for months, only one time in quarantine, before and after that it's only been days) , the feeling of unfairness when you center weight loss in your life but still struggle. you're a mirror of me. the only thing is i don't experience full-on binge-eating, just compulsive eating/snacking which i largely attribute to my adhd, and the calories always add up throughout the day.

    No amount of will power will stop you from going back to food or obsessing about food UNLESS YOU FIND SOMETHING THAT REPLACES THAT DOPAMINE HIT THAT WE GET FROM FOOD!!!!! Simple.That something has to be something healthy. I bought a rebounder and completely changed my life. Anytime you feel like eating hop on and listen to music for 5-10 mins your serotonin will come right up and will lasts throughout the day. Your mood will be boosted immediately and you don’t even have to bounce vigorously, just a gentle ‘health bounce’. Theres lots of other benefits to it including draining lymphatic system etc and also NASA study showed 10mins is equal to 30min run.
