Are you sure that was contamination? Looks like the microfiber tape was burnt or got rust on it, but it turned black and looks like a piece of the tape broke off and thats whats on the side of your jar.

I was in amsterdam they recommended soaking truffles magic for 4 hours and shrooms less I do 45 minutes but depends if dry or not

Maybe you could staple the wire mesh to the inside of the boxes instead. What about using nylon mesh? Not sure if it would be strong enough or last long enough?

What is the mixture you use for your lc?

I do think it’s good to shake the jars around 30%. I had bought some grain jars from myco for some quick colonizing grain spawn. It’s definitely quick growth medium but they don’t leave a lot of room at the top of the jar. The mycelium is so strong and thick that it was really hard to break and shake when i went over the 30% mark. I was unable to get all of it broken and mixed so now it’s colonizing slower in the one jar i was unable to get the grains broken up thoroughly. Lesson learned. I thankfully have a few different methods and grain spawns going so now i have them spread out in progress so that actually helps so i am not getting slammed with having to spawn to bulk everything at the same time. Its my first time but I have had no contamination in all my different growth mediums and methods and have amazing colonized grains with different strains of mushrooms. Very excited to be finally growing mushrooms. It’s not as complicated as I originally had believed. Just have to educate yourself and videos like yours and some other channels are great at doing that for us and just doing it yourself. I’m glad I finally started my mushrooms because it’s fun to learn and see these babies grow and develop. My first harvest should be in a few weeks and I am excited to see my babies grow. 😊

As far as I know it don’t have to be organic either.

you can sterilize one of those shaker balls and put it in the jar and then you can break it up easliy and then the spores are really good. Wish there was a way to test how healthy the spores were/are

Why is it that here in the Philippines we make our substrate a lot more wet? A bunch of water comes out when we squeeze the substrate. But it works A LOT better than the type of field capacity people from the West show us on youtube and shroomery. Does it have to do something with the climate? We dont do casing layers either. And we do not cover the holes in the monotub while waiting for it to start pinning. We do a set and forget technique. No misting, fanning, etc. We just wait for it to fruit and harvest. When I try the teks i see here on youtube it doesn't work as well.

make it into a tea and strain the lemon extract into your tea. add sugar to the tea its great. i use green tea and 2 grams of crushed mushrooms and let it steep for 30-40 mins.
