Dow cave - Caskergill extensions
zhlédnutí 173Před 3 měsíci
Come with us as we go through the fantastic Dow cave system, where we brave 8m waterfalls and loose boulder chokes as we try to get to the end of the Caskergill extensions, a more dangerous part of the Dow cave system.
Coniston Copper mines - A through trip and a journey off the beaten track
zhlédnutí 958Před 3 měsíci
We explored the extensive Coniston Copper Mines, a mine full of dangers and sights. Bright blue copper covers the walls as we make our way down huge canyons dropping some 125m in total. We ventured off the beaten track and entered some seldom visited areas, with old relics from hundreds of years ago. I finally purchased some new filming gear and boy is it an improvement! Mysterious Suitcase
zhlédnutí 144Před 7 měsíci
The weather has been too poor recently to do any caves worth filming, it literally has been raining for 3 months! Anyway, bored, I remembered an old suit-case I found in the loft, so me and John decided to some in-house caving to try and get it down to open it. *We genuinely had no idea what was in it. *Will get back to caving vids if it ever stops raining for long enough and I can afford a bet...
Deep into Magnetometer pot, with the Blackrose
zhlédnutí 419Před 8 měsíci
Come with us on a trip to the Whale deep into the Magnetometer, through the tight crawls and decorated passages. The cave is very extensive and flood prone, but is also very well decorated with formations and in places is awe inspiring, which you will see in the video. Unfortunately, my HD hero failed in the crawls, but my phone had fantastic results, I just could not use it in the crawls. Musi...

Straw chamber and Cape Kennedy - Ease gill cave system
zhlédnutí 216Před rokem
A short video of what can be found deep within the massive Ease gill cave system. These chambers are way off the beaten path from the closest entrance, which is Lancaster hole. These passages would be almost impossible to find without a survey or description.
We visited the longest cave in Scotland, Uamh ann Clanaite
zhlédnutí 564Před rokem
We visited Uamh ann Clanaite, a cave located in the Scottish highlands, about one and a half hours drive away from Inverness. This system is some 3.5km long! It is a very sporting cave, with many waterfalls, boulder chokes crawls and massive passages. The trip featured takes you from the entrance to the furthest reaches this side of Sump 3, the East Block.

Ibbeth Peril to Upper Hackergill, no one has done this for around 30 years.

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted a vid, it's took a while to get back into harder caving after the pandemic and I have had gear problems with my camera on trips I did film on. Anyway onto this vid: No one has done this trip in 30 years (probably). This is owing the fact the connection passage called "Upstream downstream passage" is very low, wet and is frequently blocked by silt and ...
Marble Sink - One of the hardest pots in the Dales
zhlédnutí 2KPřed 2 lety
This cave definately ranks in the top 5 of the hardest caves in Yorkshire, only surpassed by Strans Gill, Broken finger and Quaking pot. It's a persistently tight place, which starts hard and stays hard. Me and Don decided to take a look at it, despite not caving anywhere "hard" recently, were our minds in the right place for this hard trip, just how far did we get. Watch to find out.

Cave videos are interesting enough. You really don’t need all that music in it!!
Hi Alex, is there any way I can get in touch with you about one of your old videos? I'm doing a mini documentary on Mossdale and would love to get some of your thoughts or opinions if you have the time
Hi that's fine, but I don't want to put my e-mail address publicly on a comment, due to spam. I am not on twitter unfortunately and I don't see an e-mail address on your channel either. I am on Facebook.
@@HoleyMoleyAlex Yeah YT keeps deleting my comment when I tried to share it here. I've added it into my channel about section, could you drop me a line through there please?
Good to see you're still alive! Please be careful! X
Camera man never dies anyways rip 6 men
Respect. You guys are brave 4sure 😎
First 😂 Hi 👍
Hello Daz of :)
LOVE THIS!!! It’s so cool to see it from this point of view….I literally felt like I couldn’t breathe at some points and had to remind myself I wasn’t in there with you! 😂
Looks amazing.
Thanks
Should take some breaks to film some slow shots. Or depends on how u want the video to be ofc. It would be a bit more cinematic tho and show us what you're seeing better.
Personally I like the mix of shots with the slightly creepy music. It's like a found footage film. I know hes not going to find aliens or a murderer, but he might.
I thought I did in a few places, this trip was mainly to test out the new camera and I thought it took some good footage, so much so it required a lot of editing to whittle it down to the gems.
@@HoleyMoleyAlex I think they're looking for some more wide angle shot, but I'd imagine that's probably pretty difficult in the confines of a cave.
What is false Floors? Ended up watching lmao.
False floors as the word implies are basically floors of rock and dirt that look like solid floors but are actually just held up by 200 year old timbers and could give way when stood on. Places like this are notorious for this! You can see in the video a part where the floor is no longer there.
Copper is very valuable these days bro hahaha. You good? Nice vid. Will watch it later tho :P.
hey alex, mind if I email you? I wanted to talk about potentially one of your videos and also about your experiences with caving. got any way for me to get in touch?
Sure, I have e-mailed you.
Oh yea the adventure twins like it tight!
This is terrible.. i can't Watch this too much
u r literally out of your mind!! holy hell that is claustraphobia inducing!!
The disappointment 😩😅
Great video Alex. Reminds me how much I miss my once regular visits to that place.
Good to see you're still alive bro! 😂 Stay safe everyone 😊
Love the vid ❤
Thanks, it's one of my first vids!
Are cave diagrams a plan (north at the top) or a cross section (ground level at the top)?
Plan, North at top
U guys are insane
Might be.
Hmm ... I couldn't imagine trying to reverse that if you can't turn round!!
Yes it would not be, but do-able... just.
Thanks for vid - Giant's Hole was always one of my favourites 30 years ago - must have been down it well over 20 times, I miss that cave.
Yeh, it's good fun little trip, the poor weather has kept me away from the harder cavers I normally video.
Do you have breathing apparatus in case?
Would not be practical, just got to make-sure the weather is dry.
The faint flashlight on the other end of the silt pile was harrowing
Great video. Another of the Black Book trips I never want to do !!
I don't want to go back either, lol.
Great video. Another of the Black Book trips I never want to do !!
Is there anything specific to search for to find where they name these certain points in the cave? Names such as drown or glory fascinate me and even if it's obvious why something is named that I would still like to understand the process of mapping and exploring caves like this.
There's this old survey that may help cavemaps.org/surveys/ulsa/full/ULSA%20XXXX%20Mossdale.png
Or this one cavemaps.org/surveys/ulsa/full/ULSA%20J89%20Mossdale%20Caverns.png
Excellent. Great production, editing, voice over and just enough music where it helps. Subscribed.
For about a year in the early 90s a few of us were digging at the bottom of Echo and we "kind of" got used to the duck and slot. I went back a year or two afterwards and we so scared by the slot that I got stuck in it for 20 minutes, eventually got unstuck and left the cave, never to return. I remember going feet first on the way in was fine, but coming out, hands above my head in a kind of diving position was really hard as it was slightly uphill too. I could barely watch parts of this video! All that being said, the trip that made me give up hard potholing was Quaking Pot...Jesus, that was awful. Horriffic even.
nope!
I wonder what kind of organisms live down there, if any. Stay safe man! It's so cool to see the power of water on an extreme timescale.
Looks like, and i mean this with earnest respect and admiration for the cave, a properly shitty cave. Excellent caving vid!
yes, I can fully see why nobody has been here in 30 years.
Holy Moly our Alex is back at Mossdale again....love it ❤️ I have always wanted to explore Mossdale. Thank you for the great footage n say hi to Simon if ya see him I always love watching your subterranean adventures✌️
I live 40 miles from there and I'm dreaming of visiting it! Thanks for the video.
It's certainly well worth the visit, and it's worth going down Rana hole next to it, if you have rope and SRT skills. That's also very impressive, just my battery had ran out so no footage from in there.
Why?
Why what?
You still making cave videos?
I should do I have had technical issues with my camera and it's just finding the time to edit these. I actually do have one in the works from my most recent trip to Scotland.
Ok great the videos are awesome looking forward to more in the future
I could jump from space, fight a bear, free climb, swim with sharks all for a million ££s but I could not do this for a Billion ££s!! The gift of sheer mental strength and determination you’ve been given is truly unique. Please be careful because someone like you could really be useful in the world .
Not sure how crawling through caves could be useful but thanks for the kind words :)
Why would you do this for enjoyment, it’s horrific
Incredible. I heard those voices in one of your videos. Erie
Is this echo pot in link pot?
Echo, I don't think I have ever filmed in Link pot
With the legendary Simon Beck
We don’t have bad caves in The uk. Wish there was as many as in America though! It’d be impossible to see them all over there
Hope you make it back one day, I’d love to see it. Maybe I’ll see you guys out there one day!
Have you gotten anywhere near the 6 bodies or is that part of the cave sealed off?
It isn't sealed off but it's out of the way, so I simply don't visit that section.
I'm lay in bed ... deep breathing and having to push my duvet off me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣... amazing to watch but sends my anxiety through the roof
Hi Alex, great vid do you happen to have a copy of your drawn on topo? Can’t find much info and looks like a cracker
Is this the cavern those 6 people lost their lives? I thought accessing is prohibited unless I'm mistaken?
It is the cave, but access slowly has returned and is now open access, but people should still not go down unless fully equipped and know what they are doing and what the weather has done/is doing.
So this cave where never close? It reopened to people?
