Awesome! Thanks so much!!!
Man you’re amazingly clear and concise love it
I don’t hate Barre chords. I hate that they are physically impossible for me. I would have to be Plastic Man to lay my index finger parallel to the fret. 😢
Surely this is Vestapol (LibbyCotten)?
Tab has never made any sense to me but show me how just once and I'll get it. Only thing is I will have to leave off practise on the last steam engine train to have a go at this. Great lesson mate. Thanks.
Thanks mate, everything in less than 15 minutes. Will be back on the guitar for the first time in 10 years now you've reminded me why I ever picked one up. Leo made me do it in 1970's. Thanks again.
Nice job man, thanks
Thanks. A great tutorial and exercises for me. Really appreciated.
Crumb also brought me here, such a powerful and emotional song especially in Crumb. You nailed the notes but it's the odd strumming technique that's hard to replicate
Great version.. thanks for sharing.
Cool ❤❤❤ thanks !
Thank you! I may be weird, but I tried to play this song on the bass, and I didn't really succeed. But you helped me! thank you!
Great interpretation of a great song.
thanks! love Mance Lipscomb.
Bonjour avez vous la tablature de ce morceau j’aurai plus de facilité à vous suivre cordialement merci pour ce tuto
Thank you.
Thank for this lesson 😉
czcams.com/video/gP_SfWxyF4E/video.htmlsi=XbULzPEH-k8ehPJP I enjoyed Alan’s version. We did this in my studio then just took the footage from a brother’s back yard and synced it with the audio from the studio.
Great playing 🎶
Thank you for keeping Geeshie Wiley after 100 years. Still relevant after all these years ✨
fyi- It's by William Brown, a 1942 Alan Lomax field recording in Mississippi. This is not the Willie Brown of Son House and Robert Johnson fame.
i need these them by piano please!
?
Thanks for this Pete.
Thanks. Been getting back into Fahey type stuff, and these exercises help!
Thanks a lot.... cordially
Pete, thanks for putting this up - it's a fun walk through. Dave.
I wish I could have met Elizabeth Cotton. I found out didn't live that far from me.
Nice. I play in Avestapol too. Rarely do I get play a song in open E
Been beating strings for 20 years trying to figure this style out
Best (and most pragmatic) explanation 👍
Nice lesson, thank you
Great lesson. Thanks, Malcolm
Nice lesson. Thanks. Cheers, Malcolm
nice work yall
Nice song. Out of curiosity.. are we talking about prewar WWII or WWI?
This is a Robert Johnson song which was originally recorded in the late 1930s....that would be between WWI and WWII.
Great, man. Simple, accurate and concise. Thank you!
Cool, thanks...
Thanks for this! My husband used to play this, he was killed in February of this year. Today would have been his 62nd birthday. I haven’t picked up my guitar at all this year. 😢 I will admit to being depressed. But I woke up this morning with this song running through my head and I’m going to learn it, in his honor. I’m 67, and I’m here to tell you - you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! ❤
So sorry for your loss. I hope playing the guitar gives you some comfort. It does for me.
❤ from the UK
Thanks for this Pete! I only recently discovered the music of John Fahey and instantly became a huge fan. I love his unique primitive style. You do a great job enterpreting this style and have become a fan of yours in the process.
Hi Pete I can't find the tab for LSE
Its available on my true fire channel with a subscription: truefire.com/h2422
Amazing
Thanks for breaking the song down so well
Incredible just subbed
U Michael Madsen's brotha?
Ha! no. Madsen is common Danish last name.
I've watched a lot of lessons on this song and I'd say yours is the most complete in the least time with the least repetition.
Thanks for the lesson video! Charlie Poole's "If The River Was Whiskey" brought me here.
Thank you Pete very appreciated mcz uk
I dig it. 🏄♀️💥🏄
