Pete thanks for sharing this insightful video, I found the content really helpful. One question I have is around string action on an acoustic guitar. I note the comment regarding raising the saddle height, I guess there is a compromise about being able to fret the strings and not rattling the slide on the frets, but do you have any guide as to string height ? I have a standard acoustic guitar which I am thinking of setting up specifically for slide playing and I guess the first step might be getting a heavier gauge of strings, and see what that feels like. 👍
Hi Jack, I don't have any specifics about string height -- its not something I have measured. If trying heavier strings doesn't get you there, then putting a shim under the saddle would be the next step.
