I've change all the cartridges and always use all original cartridges and the problem persists. try with my son´s computer installing the printer controllers and its the same... all come with that horrible tones... I don't know how to fix this.... I've tried to install and reinstall all software and drives and doesn't fix anything... im think im going crazy right now with no solution immediately... Please anyone could help me please??? Im running with Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6, Epson Print Layout 1.5.5, Driver version 2.0 Epson SureColor SC-P600 All images loaded with ProPhoto RGB.... as usual!!! Thank you for another great video Michael. Just to add, you can select ‘guided’, then draw lines along buildings with converging verticals on both the left and right of the image. This will accurately straighten the verticals. A small manual adjustment to ‘Aspect’ might then be needed to preserve the shape of the buildings.

    Thanks Michael, it certainly adds interest. While you were doing this I started thinking about whether you would finish off the image by sharpening or maybe you'd do that prior to adding the blur layer?

    • @michaelpilkington2721
      @michaelpilkington2721 Před 3 lety

      Hi Chris, Good question. As you would only sharpen for output, you would sharpen after doing this and resizing. Any sharpening would primarily affect the areas that I describe as being in sharp relief. If you find that sharpening is affecting areas that it shouldn't ie those areas blurred then you could simply use a mask or other technique to limit where sharpening has an affect.

    I assume a more complicated method would be to use a curves layer in luminosity mode and paint on a mask selection for your area of interest, Not being adept at PS, I don't know if that would be the same. Thanks.

    • @aspect2i354
      @aspect2i354 Před 3 lety

      Hi Steve, There are indeed many ways to dodge and burn in that increasing or decreasing luminosity can be achieved using many tools. What you suggest is correct though I tend to use curves to apply contrast - ie lower shadows and raise highlights. If you just did one or other using a curve that would be akin to dodging and burning.

  • @steveh1273
    @steveh1273 Před 3 lety

    Would it be more efficient and perhaps technically better to start out with a camera raw smart object rather than create flattened layers and applying camera raw filters to them?

    • @aspect2i354
      @aspect2i354 Před 3 lety

      Hi Steve, you can create smart objects as you suggest. However, when you would need to make changes to actual pixels (eg clone, heal, Photoshop dodge and burn) you will need to create a regular layer. As such you will no longer have the smart object to refer to. So I am not sure that it is more efficient or technically better. It is an option that you have but does have some limitations.

    • @steveh1273
      @steveh1273 Před 3 lety

      @@aspect2i354 Yes, at some point you would have to rasterize / flatten the image to make the necessary pixel changes. I'm trying to understand when I would want to use smart objects versus the method employed in this video with rasterized layers / files and camera raw filter. I understand that making basic raw changes in a smart object /raw file is better than through the raw filter since working in raw is "better" than working on a pixel data file (psd, tiff,). Thanks

    • @aspect2i354
      @aspect2i354 Před 3 lety

      @@steveh1273 In our approach there is no need to have smart objects as they don't really give an advantage. I am not sure of your comments that making raw changes in a smart object is better than through the raw filter. I do not see that. If you would like to discuss (it may be more efficient) then please email me at michaelpilkington@aspect2i.co.uk. I would be very happy to explore this subject with you.
