    it'll be much more efficient if you used a metal container, that way you can also put the rocket stove below it, mf will boil that in 10-15 minutes

    a lot of work... BUT why? where and when would you possibly use this apparatus?... it is not even vented for indoor use....u have too much time on your hands.

      Well first of all this isn't for outdoor us. This is a portable version for camping. I use it to cook my food over the flame while it heats the water to my portable shower. Also I make money on CZcams. Probably my most profitable build so far. 👍

    Don't rob the heat from your fire (combustion chamber), take it from the flue to have better efficiency. I'd use a longer copper heat exchanger. Nice fab work.

    Or just put metal bucket over the fire.

    Copper doesn’t like touching other metals, galvanic corrosion will eat green holes in the copper line.

    Why not just heat a metal pot on top of the stove?

    • @PatrickRemington

      So that you can cook over the flame and heat the water at the same time

  • @edwardlittle5541
    @edwardlittle5541 Před 4 dny

    Using rubber or plastic hoses on something like this is a bad idea as theyll most likely melt from the heat. Next time use copper line. Just thought id offer a little suggestion here

  • @davidrudnicki-st5fz

    So you invented the water heater 🤔

    • @PatrickRemington
      @PatrickRemington Před 4 dny

      New design compared to my previous build. Sorry wasn't clear

  • @degreeless_engineering

    I think these are cool, but the burn box is small you'll be tending it non-stop. The efficiency of wood burning water heaters is low and with the price of materials like copper and steel and time building it, you can purchase a tankless propane water heater for $100 bucks that will boil water for a family of two for an entire month on 20lb bottle (with normal use). Yes you have to buy gas, but you can fill a bottle at Costco for 14 bucks.

    • @PatrickRemington
      @PatrickRemington Před 4 dny

      You are right but This is more for camping use than an everyday kind of use. The idea for me at least is to cook food on the open flame and heat the water at the same time for a warm shower.

    Less fuel = more efficient but anyway you look at this the test is not a fair test. In order to perform a test all needs to be equal. You have to many variables. To start with you are using a pump on one and not the other therefore the GPM is not equal.

    Yes, the principal is easy. Hot water rises, and cold water goes down . We had our central heating going that way and our hot water cilinder too . All on gravity feed . But you have to lay the pipes in a particular way , and the pipe has to be thicker . Made a boiler in our wood stove. Done many years of service. We had no electricity at that time .
