    Major issue for me is I want to have subtasks dependency date related to tasks, so if I change a install date task and the subtask has a value of -5 then that task will become due five days before the main task. Many years ago I used to run around 40 to 50 installation projects by using an elegant little To Do program called top priority made by the calendar creator plus people, it was before Windows and ran on Dos lol. I have talked to Monday and SmartTemplate people so far and nobody has date dependencies between tasks and sub tasks.

    This is really helpful. But ms form doesnt seems to accept attachment if its from outsiders email. So hard for me to use it as recruitment. Is there a work around?

    Great video. Just wondering if there is any way to attach other file types -- specifically PDF or word docs -- into a Loop component other than adding a link to the item? I would think that if you can add an image, you should be able to add another file type, but I haven't found any other way except as a link. Thank you!

      Thank you for the comment. Yes to categories! Particularly for the timestamp 10:59 Rule to Categories CC Emails There have been a ton of updates in the New Outlook so I'm hopeful that this is in the pipeline.

    I am using List to document the individual tasks that come into my email to have some level of my productivity and verification of my accuracy. Do you think there is another option for this data keeping?

      Thank you for the comment. If you are simply tracking small to-do tasks then it may be better to use Microsoft To-Do as this integrates well with emails and tasks (including Planner). BUT if you are keeping a record of tasks to show your workload and projects for a review at work to get a promotion then Lists could add more flexibility for you to add additional content to each item.       Thank you for the question! Yes it is possible but it will require some leg work. You would need to use Power Automate so it gets a bit tricky and it wouldn't sync between the two... But if you did want to implement something then it would be something along the lines of 'when an item is added to a sharepoint list' then 'post a message in a channel,' have the message start with ToDo and then 'when a post starts with ToDo, create a task.'

      Thank you for the comment Kate! If you insert a Planner Plan into Loop then updates will sync so it doesn't matter. BUT if you are referring to Planner Plans vs. Task Lists, there are some differences. I would say that a Planner Plan is more official, whereas a Task List should be used for convenience.     Hi, great video. Is there a way to add more data within a task. For instance we have a plan, with a task A. There are details like bucket, progress, priority etc. Can we add more data to this task like say, client etc?

      Thank you for the comment, you could potentially use Tags for clients? Planner has a lot of pros but then some cons as you have found here with the limits of the templates.       Thank you for the comment. I can see my To Do List items under To Do in my Planned Tasks, but not in Planner. If you would like to see To Do Lists feed over to Planner, then I would recommend submitting Feedback for the suggestion to Microsoft. I hope that this helps!

    I need to add attachments or pictures to the form, but now I understand that Microsoft does not want us to have it in the basic version. Such a limitation. Moreover, I would like to share the form outside my organization, but it does not work either. :((((

      Thank you for the comment. There are some limitations at this stage but hopefully we will see these additional capabilities in the future. You are in luck though! If you create a form in Microsoft Forms then you can record the form response and attachment to the List, and also collect responses from outside of your organization.     I love how it works with To Do, one question for you. I want use a table I created instead of the task table, as I can add more information to it. Do you know how to add a bucket to the table, so I can send items in the table directly to my teams To Do's?

      Thank you for the comment! I agree, the Planner & Todo integration is a game changer! This feature is only available for Task Lists though, but I do agree that it can be limiting. If you open the Task List in Planner then you can add more info to the cards which may be helpful.

      Thank you for the comment Sara! Do you mean the tabs at the top of each channel. Like Posts, then Files? If so, unfortunately there is not a way to do that. But I would also love to have the ability to colour code those as well as Channel Names.     Hello, great video! Please help me with my question, I am unable to copy and paste into lookup columns. I will use your example of the Product Code. I have a list in Excel and want to copy and paste it into Lists, if I copy exactly the same name "CAN-NAT-180" and paste it into the Product Code column, it won't recognize it, but if I enter the ID, it finds it normally. This makes it very difficult to register several rows at once. Do you know how to solve this?

      Thank you for the comment. If you have data in an Excel file then I would recommend importing that data into a List as it would be more efficient. As for the copy and paste, you will need to update the product codes in the source list. I hope that this helps!

    Hi Amy. Thank you so much for this video, which has now enabled me to colour a date in a column when it is getting within 7 days of being overdue. Brilliant! You state that you can hide the TodayCI column once you have got the very clean formula working but if I hide mine, I get a 'Failure: TodayCI was not found on the data object.'. I could keep it viewable in the list but this would be messy/confusing to colleagues. Is there anything I can do to hide the conditional column without the error?

    Too bad the waffle to move columns / rows does not work in the desktop version.

      Thank you for the comment Juan 😊 I agree, it is a very handy feature. Maybe one day they will bridge the gap between web and desktop version like they did with Outlook 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Hi Amy, I just noticed the waffle to relocate rows / columns is not part of the desktop version. Too bad, because I thought it was much easier to use.

      Thank you for all of your support Alan 😊. I truly do appreciate your comments and questions! It's all part in parcel of being a small channel, I just need to keep ticking along and eventually a break through will happen. The direction is up so at least that is a good thing and I've now broken 2K subscribers 🙌 Some videos definitely perform better and have more engagement than others but that is ok. I find that a topic like this one can be a bit of a slow burn and just needs time to get recognized since it's not necessarily a hot topic 🔥 but moreso evergreen content. Thanks again!

    Hi! How would I go about setting a email reminder now that lists no longer has the reminder option under automate

      Thank you for the comment, the email reminder is a Power Automate Flow and it looks like MS has temporarily disabled this flow, I opened up a previous PA flow and got the warning, 'New designer can't be used for this flow yet.' You might be able to use an Alert in Lists to monitor your items in the meantime. Hopefully this is back soon as this is a really handy feature.

    Can you see different task in different plans? It seems you are limited to each plan

      Thank you for the comment. If you go to Assigned to Me then you'll be able to see all of the tasks assigned to you across all of the plans. If you are looking to see all tasks assigned to everyone else across your plans then unfortunately that is not available.

      Thank you Alan! Yes, I have been keeping an eye on the recall feature. I can definitely see how this would be a helpful tool for users, but can also see the concerns noted in all of the media. Microsoft has made some improvements since the dramas by allowing users to disable this feature but I don't think that solves the issue, mainly just allowing people to avoid it. I'm hoping that they make additional security improvements as well. It seems that there are some kinks for them to work out 🤓
