This song reminds me of summer of 03. Just got my license and my bestfriend ( who's a girl) had her cousin from across the country stay for the summer. Fell in love for the first time. I remember her playing this song in my car just the two of us. I knew the don henly version but this one stuck. Best summer of my life. Never saw her again after that year. So bitter sweet now.

Knew Chris Rowe in high school, trust me when I say he was the biggest douchebag at Anderson high school in Indiana, and obviously he still is or he wouldn't have so many former band mates. Pretty good job on boys of summer, but the original is better.

The 2000s was simply untouchable, nostalgic camera lense colors, the seemingly dark and gritty tone yet so much fury and adrenaline underneath... Feels just like a fever dream on a hot summer night, what a great decade.
