    it is not surprising the effect of the cold and wind .. what it is surprising is the fact you found almost a perfect enclave to safely bypass the storm !! wow !!

    While your video is dated February 9, 2019, when did you actually travel? Is there a calmer time of year to travel? We have to remember, summer in the Southern Pole occurs from December to February.

    Отличный Кораблик и правильная команда! Потому и достойно справились. Конечно попали на водоросли, здесь никакой якорь не удержит. Единственно что можно было сделать так это поискать песчаный грунт. Но с таким якорем и песок не удержал бы. Лучший из якорей это Данфорт, правильный Данфорт!

      Hi Craig, Windora was designed by Athol Burns a naval architect from Wellington NZ, in his lifetime designed over 700 hundred vessels. She was commissioned for Alan Scott an engineer from Port Charmers Dunedin. Lynda and I have owned her and sailed her about the planet now for 30 years. All the best Phil and Lynda

    Beautiful boat, is the hull encapsulate with glass fiber and resin? If so how has it worked out

    • @philandlyndachristieson8808
      @philandlyndachristieson8808 Před 2 lety

      Hi Robert, Windora was glassed with 6 oz cloth in epoxy resin when built. I reglassed her in 2008 with 2 layers of 650 gram double bias cloth using 180 litres of epoxy resin to give her some protection around ice. Now at 50 years old the hull is in excellent condition considering what we have been though. Phil

      Windora's design is very capable of taking good care of her pilothouse. Athol Burns designed over 700 vessels in his lifetime most of them built for extreme conditions in the Cook Strait. Plus we have been in seastates most sailers would only not want to dream about. Phil
