Watching this show gave me a culture shock lol. Their are a good amount of black kids in my school and even more Asian kids. I’ve never been to a school where I almost never see a person of color.

The first season was kind of OK, if you forget you are in the 1800. I burst out laughing when the Duke asked Daphne "Do you touch yourself?" 😂Probably the most unlikely question to a girl from a good family, back in the early '800. The second season was incredibly boring, despite the Edwina/Kate plot. The dialogues between the sisters were the most boring thing I've ever heard. The mannerism of Eloise is ridiculous, the way she speaks and moves is so modern, it really irritates you in a costume drama.

Icl Ginny and Georgie was rubbish. S1 was rubbish s2 was somehow worse. This whole race, privilege, culture thing is actually so stupid in shows these days. Ginny lost her mind every episode because her mum was too white or something stupid like that. As a mixed race person myself I could never relate with Ginny or even remotely see why she kept going nuts which made the show a pain to watch. A lot of shows these days portray skin colour and culture as being the same thing. Your culture is where you’ve been raised. As a mixed race Brit my culture is British culture, it’s as simple as that. It doesn’t mean I don’t have some culture from the places where I’m from but primarily my culture is where I’ve been raised. It’s that simple.

I hated how Nadine was the one to apologize whilst everyone around her including her family refused to acknowledge their shit actions, I mean they didn’t even care to notice that Nadine wasn’t just angry but depressed! The mother literally brings up their father as a way to hurt her daughter but never gets confronted, the brother talks about his pain but ignores his sister yet he’s the one who gets the apology speech, yes he gets a lot of pressure by the mother but in the end at least he has his mother who loves him and his friends, Nadine had no one and he even let’s her what know it! It was a disappointing movie. She was not the only problem in that movie! No one brings up that fact that she witnessed her father dying, expecting her to just move on, the movie was ridiculous

I hated the ending, I found it entirely unrealstic how they wrapped it up as one big happy ending just like that. The events that happen like that in real life, are some deeeep emotional wounds and betrayals (from her perspective) that is pretty common in life. For example, Krista abandoned her at a party that she invited her to, so she could show her they could all be friends… Krista screwed up and Nadine was having a normal reaction. And the ending discredits the weight of how literally everyone treated her (granted a lot of it was self induced), by "oh you can be happy if you shrug it off and move on without a care in the world like she did" type vibe the ending gave. But yeah it did urke me as well how they depicted Nadine as ugly AF or something. Like what? Even with her attitude, she would not be some outcast with her looks, if anything her attitude would just be edgy and attract the punks, goths, and emo type people. But I guess the movie was intended for a complete normie audience is my guess, and that's also my guess as why it got such good reviews and normies loved the happy wrapped up ending with no substance.

At 13:32, Nick wasn't hurt that Charlie said they were friends, he just felt guilty that he was the reason they couldn't go pubic, and he felt bad about that, but also not ready to come out, which is why he didn't make any false promises that he would publicly come out despite knowing he wasn't ready, instead he decided to fix the problem at hand, by telling Charlie he'd break it off with Imogen, which he did.

Let me tell you that being black or white isn't a culture, a black person and a white person who grew up in the same neighbourhood from the same country have more shared culture than with another person from the same colour but from another country! But you separate and segregate so much people by their races and talk about priviledge, your society must learn a lot about integration. I will give you a clue, It starts with don't giving a damn about colours, we are not toddlers anymore.

They lost me in season 2 - it got too self aware. I expect a stronger season 2 as characters find their feet… it stayed awkward and forced for me.

So many movements started with good intentions but with time, they became just that: a symbol. For example, women's international day. In that day, there are so many stores who take advantage of that and I'm so sick of it. "Here! Come over here to this small library corner to learn about the top most influential women writers!" Why? Why is there a small corner with books written by influential wome for just one day? Does that mean that those writers get their sportlight for one day and then they go back to the shadows? Why? I'm just so sick of capitalism taking advantage of all of this.
