Regarding yoinking from culture: "Don't do this" is a bad advice, because it goes into the territory of ethnopluralism. No one owns culture. There is no such thing as "this is my culture and you shouldn't touch it". Ethnopluralism is a pretty bad thing and we should stay away from that. If you like something of a culture and you want to integrate it? That's fine. That's how cultures evolve in the first place. It's also telling that most of the time people being against appropriating stuff from other culture are not the ones from said culture. Don't do this.

LOL the surprise of me watching this video and a photo I took is in it (hi its KBV Cosplay). I'm laughing at the mention of the Fire Nation attack year because oh BOY do I vividly remember being one of those cosplayers in a costume not meant to be outside in those temps. And yeah, Katsucon having kinda garbage programming is part of the reason i stopped going after that year and focused on MAGFest - you get the cool Gaylord location AND actual official fun stuff to do.

This genuinely gave me flashbacks to when I was a little kid in kindergarten and some kid accused me of copying her colors for the ocean... We're literally coloring the same exact coloring sheet of the ocean and we're both using the color blue for the water, like sorry for not being more more experimental and making my water pink or something 😭

The mask and the hood really perfectly complete and sell the look! The hood makes the character instantly recognizable, and the masks completes and sells the punk vibes!

Whopper popper is also the term for large snaps in theater costume design too, the woman I worked under when did my work placement in a regional theater called them that and for the longest time I thought that was here own silly little name for them and it is very heartwarming to hear other people use that term <3

I never before heard about you, I have about 0 interest in fashion and my pokemon days have been long ago. But was I glued to the screen for this entire video? Heck yeah I was. Your energy is amazing and your skill is *chef's kiss*. I will now proceed to watch the video on that skirt, because these pokeball details are such great desing work, I need to know how they came to be and if there is more great details in this that I am missing.

I'm trying to make my first cosplay (it's more of a Halloween costume but oh well) and it's chell from portal 2 since it's my favorite game. I made a portal gun out paper plates and foam, along with a companion cube also made of foam. This made things seem a little less overwhelming so thank you! (I know it's 2 years old but i feel like it still helps :])

im a casual pokemon fan, ive only played one of the games (pokemon X), but the charcter design has been the thing that keeps me interested in every generation. i feel the same way about the gen 8 gym leaders, they are just so incredibly well designed!! im SO excited to see the gengar staff build!!! just from the bits and pieces you showed, i know its going to look incredible!!!
