i never liked how everyone "jumps the hype train" and starts selling/buying over advertised products as the "solution" to their lazyness.. and often in the end the customer/consumer is voluntarily getting "scammed" (in the long term definitely) there are sooo many subscription based "food services" like Hello Fresh and alternatives i dont know their names.. all of them supposedly sell you "high quality / high nutrition value" food tailored to your needs or whatever.. but somehow they can afford to send you *1 week? worth of food for FREEEE + a welcome package if you subscribe NOW and use random youtubers code for a DISCOUNT.. *several days worth of meal .. how is all of this sustainable in long term? somebody is definitely getting skimmed.. and some services are literally selling you food/candy "loot boxes".. not to mention how there are so many delivery apps/services, some people have more tags than racing cars.. but will cry about 0-2$ tips

Supplementing iron in those who don’t have a deficiency is quite dangerous. Excess iron causes problems and your body has a lot of difficulty getting rid of it. So it’s best to only supplement iron when testing has showed a deficiency. Generally most anemia occurs as a result of menstruation.

I don't believe anything is a wonder drug but I just wanted to drop my positive experience supplementing collagen as well. Perhaps it'll help someone else. I also observe this video focuses a lot on preventing injuries and improving performance but for me this was about repair. I do wonder if there are other deficiencies that can prevent cartilage repair or glycine/lysine synthesis or utilisation. If anyone knows please clue me in!: I started back at the gym after a long few months off due to laziness. I started back on the leg extension machine close to the weight I stopped at previously and think either my knees needed more time to acclimate than my quads did, or I was snapping on the way down and not controlling enough. Regardless I was eating 150-170g protein /day and I felt a persistent tenderness for several weeks even after taking a break from the machine. Out of curiosity I just started taking collagen because I knew that's what the cartilage was made of and within the week the tenderness was gone. At the time I was supplementing with a few things after a long bout of undereating (bioavailable B12, general multivitamin+biotin, d3+k2, iron (persistent anemic), magnesium) just to test out others claims for myself and the collagen was the only one that gave me a marked improvement in that tenderness.

After six months of taking AG1 had to cancel. My constipation became dangerous. I was use to superfood combinations using Amazing Grass for a decade. Until their Pineapple Lemongrass was discontinued. When they were sued for lead levels. (It ya didn’t know some nutrition products now label this as it is more common than realized for nutrition labels products) In search of a new superfood option purchased upon recommendation. Realized my health was slipping. Like, my skin when wounded wouldn’t heal like normal. Began having skin issues on the face. Compared to exceptional complexion prior to use. The worst side effect was constipation so horrid my anus came close to prolapsing and literally I had to crap a brick. When I realized the only change was AG1 thought I’d drink it every other day. This didn’t work. As soon as I dropped the product my skin improved. My bowel movement was normal again. Keep in mind I drink a pitcher full of filtered water in the morning with superfood. It wasn’t hydration issues. Someone complained it was licorice root for them that caused the issues I was having. I know some people swear by this stuff. For me, it was a medical problem. My health is exceptional and I’d never had such a horrid experience from food. Because I’m not able to eat enough produce daily to satisfy my needs came up with a way to mix nutrients to help ensure I’m consuming lots of produce variety and vegan protein using products like superfood wheat grass. And a couple of supplements that help such as a few varieties of magnesium (there’s ten types) that has helped me rest at night. Turmeric to help with inflammation of a military injury including a low inflammation diet to help thwart it. Like little gluten or dairy. Anyway, AG1 sucked for me. Though others say it helps them a lot. Superfoods been such a positive for me that my craving of caffeine became non-existent. I used Lemon Lime or Watermelon flavor from Amazing Grass. This variety doesn’t have lead issues. It’s got a vegan caffeine effect, for me. It’s been my experience superfood varieties have a wonderful impact on health via nutrition support. My blood work year after year comes back stable in all areas following a fasting lab. I like using superfood over vitamin supplements though a few are helpful. Unique to my body needs and chemistry. I noticed people who haven’t had proper nutrition will notice a huge different taking products like AG1. It’s like a dry sponge gets filled but the person is nutrient dry and suddenly filled. If they were eating better in the first place the product likely would have had a less pronounced impact initially. As you’ve noted. Hope this is helpful to others. This is a great informative video. Agree whole heartedly. Nutrition is key. One thing a lot of people don’t know is the hippocratic oath use to include nutrition as the cure first and it was removed. A new oath passed around. We’re living the results as a society.

Thanks for this grounded take on the matter. This type of content is way more trustworthy than any sponsor ship. Wasn‘t likely going to buy the stuff regardless, but now I have something to base that decision on. Another thing I am taking from this: A vegan diet is way more likely to be deficient in more ways than I thought… I used to think it was just B12, but it seems there is so much more to watch out for. Does anyone know of any good overviews for proper nutrition on a vegan diet (since I do not want to eat animal products, most recommendations in this video are of the table for me, except the dark leafy greens and tofu from the figures)?

The primary issue is most people eat like shit and buy supplements like AG1 in an attempt to fill the void. I hate supplement blends. I'm a big proponent of regular blood work and taking specific individual vitamins and supplements that are needed. The primary purpose of AG1 is for the investors to make money.

Amusing(the debate concerning supplements). Far wiser to find an actual paper textbook on the subject of .... organic chemistry. In that book you should find a chapter on nutrition. In simple terms it will give you examples of the foods that contain the vitamins your body needs. Each will also tell you the daily requirement, but it will also tell you the maximum intake. Example b12(brazil nuts).....5/6 per day would be risky(too much selenium) Best of all if you stick to unprocessed foods where possible .... a.its cheaper b.the testing is far more reliable c.if you DO trigger a side effects/allergy its easier to isolate the cause. Find natural foods rich in the vitamin/nutrient that you are deficent in,and just incorporate them into the meals that you already enjoy.
