I had the same problem with Turkington….EBay car….gears stripped after 6 laps…..contacted customer services….they said we will send you the parts out….2 months later no parts….contacted customer services again….they couldn’t supply the parts…..hence new car out of the box can’t use…..just a display car now….not happy

I just don't think the cars can take the grip levels and speed. If the second crown gear goes then you know it isn't just a fault. To be fair I have ran 20k high torque motors and stock crown gears and no issues. keeping the magnet in and the high grip track might have been a factor but well done Scalextric for the great customer service, you won't get that from Revoslot!

Bets it’s the level grip on the poli car track that the scalextric cars are not used too. Superb that scalextric sorted you out like they did us.

Hi Pete, After the tight curves the Lotus is hopping a lot. Because of the high grip of your track the forces on the crowngear are just to great. Many years ago I experieced the same thing with Ninco track. Very frustrating. Racing without the magnet will help.
