Hi Pete,
After the tight curves the Lotus is hopping a lot. Because of the high grip of your track the forces on the crowngear are just to great. Many years ago I experieced the same thing with Ninco track. Very frustrating. Racing without the magnet will help.

Cheers Pat, just a reminder to people of the fun time you can have on your own, if you're remote and can't get to a club. Everyone chats about 'club' racing but a lot of people may feel frustrated. Just a reminder, you don't need a big wood track to have the best time 😉💯🔥🔥🔥

I had the same problem with Turkington….EBay car….gears stripped after 6 laps…..contacted customer services….they said we will send you the parts out….2 months later no parts….contacted customer services again….they couldn’t supply the parts…..hence new car out of the box can’t use…..just a display car now….not happy

I just don't think the cars can take the grip levels and speed. If the second crown gear goes then you know it isn't just a fault. To be fair I have ran 20k high torque motors and stock crown gears and no issues.
keeping the magnet in and the high grip track might have been a factor but well done Scalextric for the great customer service, you won't get that from Revoslot!
