09:02 There is AC while parked/charging. It is shown as an option on the main screen each time you stop the car (while not in CarPlay). You can also activate AC though the menus, to make it run even when the ignition later is turned off. My preferred way is although to assign the programmable "diamond"-button on the car key to start acclimatization. That will work in any condition to bring the cabin to the set temperature, also when you are outside a locked i3 with ignition off. The key only have to be within range of the car (~30-40 meters).

Also interested but live in Los Angeles 🤔 Just got 2017 i3, route and data for charging is PRIMARY problem I am trying to work out before going very far. This is better than replacing the whole system to upgrade ($2-3k) 🤑

Model 3 gets more roll noise inside while model 3 highland is only aero sound. If you could install db app you could se that model 3 is between 70-80db and the another maybe 10db less. In any case we all pu attention to Tesla noises while the rest of the cars until 60k mostly are also noisy

Test drove the 2024 M3P last week and I think you should definitely upgrade from your current M3LR! I would say the refreshed model is more compliant and the overall feel of the car is better! I daily a M3P 2020 (pre face-lift) and I am looking to upgrade my self. The real selling point for me is the ventilated sport seats, these alone are worth upgrading for!

Mate it is literally not possible to import batteries from US. They need them all locally in order the tax credit to be available. Currently even the RWD uses the US made Panasonic battery. Some new/improved battery if any from China is more likely. Kyle (from Out of Spec) made another test on T3P on the Autuban it overheats badly. Anyway I love your review science BMW i3. Another great one, man! Keep. IMHO do not upgrate for this one. Tesla won't make the same mistake with Y Performace battery wise. And as a rule in Tesla lineup "Never buy the first iterations". Most likely they will change the battery as soon as the initial sell wave pass.

I'm in a similar situation at the moment. Like you said, since I bought my Model 3 LR 2021 I always had thoughts about why I didn't got the Performance and now with the new highland I'm considering daily if a switch would be a good idea. I think I would have to read into the battery data but if the LG battery is really that bad, I don't think I'm going to switch in the near future. I love my M3 LR so even with the power "increse" and updated interior and exterior I don't think for me pearsonaly the upgrade would be worth. I got a Performance Model Y when my Model 3 was in service and with the new AMD chip and the increse in space I would most likely get a Model Y Performance instead. Greetings from Germany btw :D

I'm currently looking to get my first EV. Looking for cheap options on a few different models. The i3 is definitely one of them. Cool to hear some experience from actual owners. Especially the info that it's a decent car, even for norwegian winters. 😅

It's a pretty funky car for sure and its has the premium badge. I was looking to buy one of these as a second car for short town trips, but eventually I gave up on it. The latest models(with the 42KwH) are still way too expensive and not offering enough range and charging speed as you mentions and the tech is outdated. And the older models are even worst on range so only the Range Extender was an option but I didn't wanted to go down that route to do the engine servicing and etc. Not to mention the suicide doors as a big inconvenience and a small boot. So I made a sensible decision and bought the Hyundai Ioniq Electric 28kw, which is not as funky (its very invisible on the roads) but unbelievably efficient 6-7miles/KwH and half the price. After 6 years and 60k miles still can do 134-145 miles on a full charge. And its got all the safety features, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist and Android auto and Apple Carplay and an up to 70kwh DC charging speed on CCS. But I know the more relevant competition for this BMW i3 S would the newer 38kw Ioniq whit a more modern interior and tech and its still a good few thousands cheaper than this BMW. But the Ioniq is like a secret favourite. Not many people know about it and realising that this is an option. I came across to it as an accident but I'm glad I did. It should have been mentioned between the competition beside the LEAF .

I bought a 2020 i3S and it's totally exceeded our expectations. We charge it every 10 days so it's mostly doing local work but my wife absolutely loves it... in fact, she hasn't visited a petrol station in over 6 months and we charge for almost free on our solar installation, to give you an idea the last 200 miles cost us £3.00. It's brilliantly comfortable, the tech is pretty much up to date and it's a quirky but very interesting vehicle... right now I cannot think of anything which would replace it.

Why buy Cars from Manufacturer’s that are trying and failing to catch up. If You want an Electric Vehicle buy a Tesla. I’ve had a Model S since 2018, done over 78k miles and it’s the best car I have ever owned and been driving since 1968.

Waste of time video

Was looking for an EV as a commute/second car. Thought about the i3 for a second but can't stand it, way to weird and ugly. Went for the Megane E-Tech instead, cool car that ismuch more likeable on the surface.

I purchased a 2020 BMW i3 about four months ago after doing a lot of research about electric cars and for my needs living in the city of Seattle. Used prices were very attractive and I was able to get one off lease with relatively low mileage that was well cared for. In the four months that I have been driving I have been absolutely pleased with the vehicle and everything about it. It was definitely the right car for me.

Do you precondition the batteri in any way when you use ABRP for navigation? Thnx for the vid.
