Explore Sheep Springs Cutoff: Discovered A Secret Shortcut Side Trail to the Top Yamaha Grizzly ATV
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!! TrailBlogger's 4th of July Independence Day Special! Today I explore a secret side route that runs through an area known as Sheep Springs that was once a copper mine. This route is not on the main trail maps and brochure guides I have. This is technically a shortcut to the lookout at the top as it bypasses the upper ridge and heads directly to the launchpad but it might have taken more time to ride this route being I was crawling along exploring it for the first time. The cutoff is easy to miss, I have ridden this way hundreds up times and never noticed it before. It is narrow and a little scary towards the end there. Warning, if you are afraid of heights don't look down!

i need a atv
You should get one
where did you get your graphic wrap @ I want something like that for my raptor as well looks awesome
Is the Thrush Washer supposed to spin?
Does the ECU just pull out/Unplug?
Skip to 5:12 it is attached to a little metal bracket
How have you liked the 2019 gears?
A little better probably would have gone lower. The alba 6 spring clutch is way better, engages like a true clutch should
Awesome Video !
👍👍 good video and if it ever fails again it won’t be from lack of grease 😂
lol
My polaris is 740lbs, I don't think I'll be able to lift it like that 😢
If I made this same video, It would end sooner and the final shot would be a Big Box with All The Pieces in the Corner of My Garage. Thanks For the informational video !
Which petrol strimmer would you recommend new for blade attachment grass sick of this crappy snapping cords or plastic blade all the time
I like the echo line. This particular blade works on vines and young trees chutes but not the best at tall grasses
How do u like the kenda bear claw tires thinking about getting a set for my raptor
Great traction but very bulky for a sport quad. A lot like the old spider tracs
@@trailblogger thank u
About to do mine it’s 112 tho waiting til dark
Same it is like 110 F here now. In the video I had a portable swamp cooler setup outside lol
@@trailbloggermines a 96 f350 have u done it yet? I’m dreading it
@@sn2bkng yes i recorded this video
You got the tune and tip on in this video? I suppose not since it sounds stock
Bone stock here
@@trailblogger Bro post that video with the tune! You’re killing me!! 😂😂😂 I bought a 2024 Grizzly so I’m hyped too
@@xZCoDaZx i will soon sorry for the delay
@@trailblogger That video better be up by tomorrow!!!! 😂
@xZCoDaZx aye aye captain! lol
👍👎🤮🤮🤮
Thanks for watching
I am paying a shop to do this as I write this. The 2019, a barnett clutch and the weller oil mod
Oil mod is a good move i have heard
I will let you know when I get it back. How are the 19 gears, I am hoping to get as low as 3-4 mph in first without having to ride the clutch. Before it would start bogging at 6 mph
It is definitely better but not as low as i was hoping it would be
Remember, unless you tear the roots out or spray them, they will come back
Agreed, i dragged the whole thing with a scraper blade after this
@@trailblogger yeah, I work a PNW farm and fight Blackberries every year
Get a ratchet rake for the bucket. Will make short work of that brush. Dad had one of those tractors back in the 70's, good tractor.
I will check those out, thank you
That's proper July 4th celebration "Merica"!!
just trail riding
Oregon make these blades in the USA,but I ha e seen on YT, that they cannot be sold in the USA! Seems strange.
I recently found a link to some on amazon from another brand and added it to the video description at the bottom
Nothing like the smell of a new unit!
👍🥂👋
King Quads are awesome reliable machines. He's gonna love it.
I kinda wish i had got one instead of my grizzly atv but i do love the yamaha
@@trailblogger As a Yamaha guy myself....I'd buy the King quad. The build quality is exceptional and a few minor mods really bring them to life.
@@rzl07375 will it loft the front end up from a dead stop just going full throttle with your weight at the back of the seat?
@@trailblogger With a clutch shim installed it should.
I havent rode the king quad yet but my grizz lifts the front and is surprisingly smooth to jump for a flying couch!
Repack those silencers 🙉
Lol it could probably use a repack but I did just do them not long ago
@@trailblogger well plz consider the small silencers for ☝️and for 🤘it’s KILLING MY EARS and I have to have “ear plugs” at work!!! Lol
Noted sir I will give then a fresh repack. This is an older video they have been done a few times since
@@trailblogger understand and to add, home insulation works as the same if not better because u can wrap the tubes with MORE MATERIAL and a TIGHTER fit on smaller(all) silencers.
Any mods on the Grizzly in this video?
Bone stock in this video but I have some footage come up soon with a tune and tip
@@trailblogger Okay awesome good to hear!
This hurt me a little. Gotta shift n let the motor do its thing. Raptor love 🤘🤘
nah I've seen you ride I wasn't impressed lol
Shift. She likes it low.
Your differential didn't leak after pulling the axles from the tubes?
Not that I recall no. Maybe I should check that fluid
@@trailblogger I'm curious, right now I have a situation where it leaks on one side and I really cant afford doing both sides right now. I'm wondering if i can pull the axle out on the side that's not leaking in order to change the inner axle seals on my differential, or if I'll HAVE TO change both at the same time. For this job, I worry it'll be a waste if I don't change BOTH of those inner seals. I'm already changing a lower ball joint, on one side only. Basically, both axles have to be removed, or at least pulled out of the differential, for the ring gear to come out and change the seals. I've already got one seal, but I worry the other will tear if I remove it, then I'll fix the side that was leaking but create the same problem on the other side. On mine, I could smell gear oil on the hub. It's all wet/grimy all around the hub and the knuckle What happened, I went to change a single lower ball joint, and to my horror discovered not only my inner axle seals on the differential were leaking, but the oil already destroyed the rubber in my vacuum seal, and was getting all into my hub bearing. I'm working on a 2000 SD 4X4. I like your video, but I'm a little surprised you didn't do the inner axle oil seals inside the differential, as mine is leaking without even pulling the shaft (also 320k miles).
@@trailblogger I'd love to know if yours ever leaked. If they didn't, there's a good chance I'll get away with pulling the axle just enough to be able to remove and install the two inner diff axle oil seals, and i can save the ball joints on the other side for another time
@@samuelrivas3943 if it did, it was very little. it very well could have dripped some on the gravel and I just didnt notice late at night working in the dark with a flash light. I have never done the diff fluids on this truck. feeling like it would be a good time to check it now lol
Is it still 54 foot pounds of torque for all warriors for the front sprocket?
So this is learning how to be a bitch? Ride it like you stole it!
Okay, willing to share how the moog hub assemblies are holding up? Got all the parts but was holding off on the hubs. Thinking I should do them while I have it all apart. But dont want to fork out another 6-700 for Timkens or motorcraft but want quality.
So far so good! All components have held up good. She drives nice and straight, I can drive it down the road with one finger on the wheel. I did have to replace my hydro booster recently, not sure if it was due to the tight steering components and larger tires but we are back on the road now
🤘
You can put the link from where you bought it, thank you
Thank you for the credit! I just had time to watch this installment. Great video, my friend. If you need anything else let me know.
Thanks for allowing me to borrow your clip and i hope you are feeling better after being down for so long
How does the grizzly compare to the raptor? Could you see yourself owning just the grizzly?
I love the raptor but the banshee still my baby lol all are fun in different ways. For a long, long ride deep into the jungle grizzly is sure convenient. Need more seat time with mods to know for sure.
Nice area to ride! Very cool seeing the old mining relics and vintage photos. Are there any other parts of the old mining operation accessible by ATV?
There are old mines all over the place a few you can still go in. Bulldozer in the side of the cliff. Mainly just old road and some foundations
Awesome video do you prefer the raptor or the grizzly for trail riding?
They are both great machines the grizz is growing on me, super comfortable smooth ride. Wish it had a regular sport clutch
Theyre intentionally designed to fit in a truck bed.
love this type of videos !!!
Love these type of comments :-) thanks for watching friend
Don’t let go of gas when shifting next time!!
Really sad day as I found the turbo charger was the cause of my oil leak. It was hemorrhaging oil through the pedestal, blew a seal and started force feeding the intake oil... now I get to eat some crow...
Time to dig in!
Grizzly is a ripper bro.. I might have to go look at um.
And this was when it was stock! Tune and pipe tip opened her up big time
Tearing it up bro bro..
I was watching one of your older videos of when you added the alba a arms on your raptor and also installed the fox shocks I tried to find the link in the description for the shocks because I have the same a arms but couldn’t Do you happen to remember where you bought them from?
They are fox float evol got them off eBay. Will look up the seller for you tomorrow
This is exactly what i need, my 160ft garden looks just like this
It was cool to see that aerial mine tram. Nice video. Thanks for the ride along!
More about the tram in the next video
@@trailblogger Looking forward to it
Nice trail, that grizzly seems snappier and smoother than the old 660
It is bone stock here just wait for the upgrades video lol
Vídeo muito bom 👏👏🇧🇷 Aqui do Brazil acompanhando os vídeos
wow, thank you for watching! cheers from California
Hi I just wanted to know if your raptor has had any engine lights come on since you put the AIS block off plate on
No
Come on, you have 4 More gears
It does????
