  • Just a quick video to show off my new-to-me 2002 Ford F-350 4x4 XLT diesel truck and how I finally was able to convince the fuel filter to come off the 7.3L powerstroke engine that was stuck on and stripped.

Thanks to this video I was able to hammer the 15/16th size socket onto the stripped plastic nut wix filter. So thanks for the video!

i am glad it helped someone out there in youtubeland get their rig back on the road! right on! mine was so stripped i had to use the drill-two-holes method but i am glad to hear the hammer-the-socket-on method worked for yah!

Very nice 7.3 Powerstroke! I bought a used truck a couple years ago and went to do an oil change on it and the oil pan drain plug was way overtightened by the previous owner. I ended up rounding off the head of the drain plug but finally got it off and had to go buy a brand new drain plug. Thankfully the threads in the oil pan were not damaged from it being overtightened. Seems to be a common thing with people overtightening things with threads LOL.

i dont know why people feel like they need to muscle it on there so much. snug will do fine. ive seen guys weld a spigot valve in place for the drain plug versus replacing the entire pan lol

Man this was a MFER! I ended up using a Screw Driver and hammer to notch it a long. No matter how much impact, nothing and eventually it stripped. This is a great idea but I couldn't afford to destroy mine as we needed to reuse it right then and there.

I’m about to do exactly this on my truck, man. I used everything, damn socket stripped that pos plastic bolt, I drilled a couple of smalll construction brackets on there and no luck. I’m on my way to Home Depot to go pick up your setup and wish me luck man. So frustrating. No more wix filters
