Good job de-cluttering your jewelry! I recognized i think a few pieces of Premier Designs jewelry. : ) I am right there with you! I have gone through a lot of my jewelry and probably still need to do it some more. I am in my early 60s too. I am learning to keep what I love. and of course I do keep some, not all, of my sentimental items. Thanks for putting videos out.

It took me probably 3 or 4 years to get down to 33 items, and I wound up going to about 40 items for year round wear and quit doing seasonal. Im a bit low right now, but looking to expand in the next few months. And I don't know that I much paid attention to my shoes.

It makes me anxious just looking at your jewelry. I did the same thing with mine and gave alot away and it was soooo difficult. I have all my mom's jewelry to go through too. My husband and I live in Md. and are retired. Love your videos.

i looked it up, that Avon christmas tree pin is only about 14-15 $.

i use to wear earrings and rings every day. but as ive gotten older ive given away my heavier earrings as they were irritating my ears. I have lost the fat pad on my ring fingers and find it painful to wear them. so i just have some light weight earrings and a few necklaces, and ive put magnetic extensions on them so they are easy to put on, ive got arthritis in my hands .and i never wore jackets, not even at work. it was not comfortable. I am from El Segundo . calif.

I have trouble decluttering my long hanging necklaces even though I haven’t worn any in at least a few years. I’ve decluttered probably about half or more than half of my jewelry but I still have a door hanging jewelry armoire that is mostly full 😱

There are so many de-cluttering videos out there - yours is so refreshing & different. It's geared to everyone of any age even though all the steps & advice are the same on every CZcams video. The fact you had support from your sisters so it wasn't left up to just you to get the job done, your mum participated in the process & there was no pressure on her to make an immediate choice on something is nice. & she admitted it was hard at first which a lot of people can relate too. And your mum has plenty of space to hang different clothes for different seasons is a bonus - not everyone does. And the word "hoarding" wasn't mentioned which I hate. Yes some people have a serious problem with it but this was project was accomplished in the right way that everyone could live with. Hopefully 🤞🙏 my wardrobe will look the same. Regards 🇮🇪

Not sure if you have found a happy medium, but I like the pantry principle, but only stock in meals or basics. An example of what I mean by in meals, when I was shopping a month at a time, I would basically take and say, I want to cook x meal every other week, and I would write out what was needed to make that meal. Then I would buy enough shelf stable ingredients for 3 months or whatever, and that way I could buy 4 or 5 cases of tomatoes when they were on sale for spaghetti, or bulk buy rice for chicken and rice, but I would work on meals that ysed similar items so maybe rice could also be fried rice, or in a soup. I dont stock weird single use ingredients unless it is something we really think we will like, and usually I look for substitutions first, then I will buy it once, but if it isnt in regular rotation or specially requested it is only the occasional purchase.

Calm and relaxed atmosphere so good for decluttering especially with person who accumulated stuff for years. Sometimes people helping (including me) are to excited/energetic and can overhelmi decluttering person even more.

I have let go of soooo many stamp supplies. And still have a dresserful. Halved the cardstock the last time I was able to declutter, we are down to about a 6" stack. My kids used to stamp with Mom when she was going through cancer treatment, so its hard for my more sentimental one to declutter even though its been 15+ years now. ,

I have down sizing my clothes too. I have a spare laundry basket in my laundry room and so when I decide to get rid of clothes I heave it. So when full my house keeper which is my niece she will then take home and goes through them and disperses them to ever can use them.

I rolled things in my chest of drawers. I have an empty drawer now! I need to refold some camisoles now, the way you did, I think they will stand up better. But it's great! I can see everything at one time- I rolled/folded sweatshirts where I can see what's on them and can now see them all at once, don't have to lift them up to see underneath! It's amazing!

Loved your video. I have been decluttering my wardrobe for years but my t shirt drawer is getting a little out of control again. During covid clothing stores were closed here so I have some things I bought on line and I am not really happy with but as we also moved to a new area during covid I am not familiar with the available stores nearby. Daughter is coming to vist this month so maybe several can go and a (very) few can be replaced.
