Oh, I do know exactly what you were talking about!
Additionally, I developed the "ability" to not see those clutter piles anymore once they have formed. Only when I expect visitors do I look around with them in mind and think "Oh crap!"
So now I'm working to clear each surface and give everything a place to live. Like Cas from The Clutterbug says: "Every surface is hot lava!" 😃
Thanks for your video It demonstrates very nicely how those piles form. 😀

I agree. Clean spaces are the best, and once clutter is there, it is so easy to just add to the pile. Excellent ideas.

Going forward; I now use my label maker to put one of those double sided labels to wrap around a cord. If it looks like it might fit something else I also will make another one and wrap that around it as well. The reason for this , is because I’m sick and tired of having surplus cords hanging around but too scared to declutter it. I will allow a duplicate that works for both but only one. I’ve also made the decision to do it as soon as possible. Not do it later, as you can guess what will happen ( I can’t remember) .

I agree - it is easier to keep things picked up when you are not dealing with stuff that belongs to others. Thank for sharing!

My problem is when I put something away in another area, I find something in that area that needs attention, and so on, and so on. Then, I end up back at the beginning having accomplished very little. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It is certainly easy to get side tracked. Just make a promise to yourself that you will finish one area first 😊
