I keep the number of clothes that fit comfortably in my closet. I have 100 items of clothing hanging in mine. It is both my winter and summer wardrobe. I don't switch clothes out for the seasons. They all fit me, I love them, and I alternate them all. When an item wears out or I don't like it anymore, I replace it. This has worked for me for many, many years. Simplify :)

You are absolutely precious! I appreciate you thinking of the value your stuff can bring to others at the thrift. So many times at goodwill you find clothes that are stained/ have holes etc, just seems like a dumping ground for peoples garbage at times

I’m older(78), but I have more than my closets can hold. I’m very creative. So I pull in things I haven’t worn in years and no one in our retirement community has seen them before. I need to declutter my wardrobe but it is so hard to do because I love all of it. I even have old St. John pieced that I wear once in a while. I have dressier clothes that I can wear when we go on cruises . I need to get rid of things but I honey wear them. Help!!!
Oh my, Lynn! I encourage you to try the following experiment. I know you say you love every piece, but try packing pack some of them away in a tote (out of sight) for about 3 months, and see if you really do miss them as badly as you think you would. Perhaps you would equally LOVE the feel of a more spacious closet. It feels REALLY good to have the power over your closet instead of the closest having power over you! You can do it! Even small progress IS progress. Try it and and let me know how it goes!

It took me probably 3 or 4 years to get down to 33 items, and I wound up going to about 40 items for year round wear and quit doing seasonal. Im a bit low right now, but looking to expand in the next few months. And I don't know that I much paid attention to my shoes.

I have now went four years without buying any clothes. I have trouble letting things go .After seeing this video l think l am going to try your technique to get ridof some items.
