    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) There is nothing more important then getting right with the Creator, Jesus Christ. Those that refuse to come before him and repent with godly sorrow for sinning against him will stand before him in judgment and be cast into the lake of fire. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Heb 9:27) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru Před 9 dny

      Hi Angela! Thanks for your comment - there are so many amazing hotels in the Maldives, it’s hard to choose! Happy to help :). Cora Cora is a “new” property but they took over a hotel that’s been there a long time. They didn’t really make any fundamental changes to the villas so some of the issues we experienced: gaps in the doors so mosquitos come in and the air doesn’t stay cold, the AC didn’t work in 2 of the rooms, there are a lot of villas really close to the staff areas and it can be SUPER loud at meal times and sports game times. They also had some issues with electrical and the toilet rooms at the beach villas are all outside with no fan aka mosquito room. so overall, we were disappointed that they called it a full renovation when they didn’t fix some fundamental issues. It’s a beautiful island and beautiful beach so if they are running a good deal, it’s worth considering if you do a water villa :). Very good review. Thank you! I’m selecting a hotel on Mauritius in August, but this is a hard choice. Four Seasons seems to require renovation, St. Regis Le Mourn rebranded for a reason. One & Only seems the only interesting option.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru Před 9 dny

      Thank you so much for your comment! We appreciate you watching :). There are a few high end options on Mauritius and they all have their pros and cons. One & Only is currently under renovation so pending their opening, that could definitely be a good option as I have no doubt they will make some great updates. It's also on a great part of the coast. If you're looking for more "modern" look and design than FS, I would say Shangri-La is also a safe choice as well as they have a night airy style and the beach there is fabulous. My family visited Vietnam. It was my very first time. It was an amazing trip, although it was just for 3 weeks. Love it. My husband was born there . The areas we were at were Hanoi, siagon, Hue, An Bang Beach. We did not have time to visit anywhere else, but we all enjoyed it. We also went to the fairy stream, a walk through nature. The food was amazing, and I tried egg coffee for the first time. Pho, Banh Mi yum yum . We were also able to pick our own coconut in Mui Ne.

We didn't personally get anything tailored (ran out of time) but some of the most popular tailors are: Yaly and Bebe - they are super highly recommended but can be a bit pricier. Loved your video! Brought me back to a beautiful vacation we spent in 2023 in Vietnam. Your review nailed it very well! That is (almost) how I felt about the property. However, we did not experience the service flaws at all. Service and food was exceptional. On the last day I had an ear infection and they went out and beyond to help me clam my pain, especially as I had to fly out to Bangkok that day. They have a nurse on sight for such incidents. Alle the waiters knew our names and knew what we liked.... Very personal indeed. We had a sea view room, slightly slanted to the sea, which had the privacy you were missing. The view was great from there. I highly recommend and it is cheaper that seafront. We loved to bike around the property, especially our kid. I agree with you that they need to upgrade some of the furniture. Otherwise a beautiful hotel next to the most picturesque town in Vietnam.

    I can't believe you guys did not know about Hoi An. That was my top destination to visit in Vietnam! it is sooooo incredibly beautiful. And we stayed at The Namhai as well. It was our beach part of the trip. The rest was pretty much sightseeing. If you go to Siem Reap in Cambodia, make sure to stay at the Zannier Hotel "Phum Baitang". It is a relaxing enclave. The hotel resembles a Khmer village. All the rooms are little houses on stilts around a rice field in the middle of the hotel ground. They even have buffalos to help with rice harvest. It was the most beautiful place we visited. And staff is well trained and kind. If it wasn't so far from Europe I would return to this place!

We are looking for an all-inclusive if possible! :)

    I could sense the frustration with your review guys, such a beautiful hotel with a basic problem( which is very solvable) but probably the most important aspect of any good business: customer service. Would love these hotels to invite you guys for a re-review 6 months later to showcase their improvements.

      @VoyagerGuru Před 20 dny

      We would love that too haha! It really is a struggle sometimes to see a hotel with soooooo much potential under perform in really basic areas. But as we said, we hope that they take feedback proactively and hopefully one day we will be invited back to review 😉

    Hi there! Do you have a key or legend for your star ratings? I’m guessing 3 *** means inconsistent, and 4 **** is probably good but may have subtle flaws. Am I accurate?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru Před 20 dny

      Hey Kevin! Yes that's essentially a good summation of it. We look at key measures in each category based on global benchmarks for luxury hotels, and then adjust for the specifics of that local market, and the competition in the area. But generally, yes, 3 stars indicate an inconsistent experience where issues are prevalent and not merely circumstantial or isolated incidents. A 4-star rating signifies a generally positive experience but with noticeable shortcomings in certain key areas. These issues are sometimes circumstantial and appear to be either easily fixable or actively being addressed by the hotel. For finer distinctions, the half-stars are where nuances come into play: 4.5 stars are given when subtle flaws prevent a hotel from achieving a perfect score in its category, despite outstanding performance in other aspects. We've never published a key, but perhaps we should!?

    • @kevinrazban8906
      @kevinrazban8906 Před 20 dny

      Hi VG- I like the casual aspect of the stars, plus I get the feeling that you are generally open to another future experience. It’s up to you, but I was curious about three stars since it’s typically a lower score on your videos! I dont think I’ve seen you give a two star review? I may be wrong?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru Před 20 dny

      Thanks Kevin! Yes, in terms of future improvements to categories, we try to leave room open to those improvements. It's also important to note that by the nature of the hotels we choose to stay at, or more importantly the hotels that choose to host us, there's a certain degree of confidence that the hotel is already in a peak category. Every hotel we rate is a traditionally considered a 4-5 star hotel, so to get a 2 star rating is rare, but not unheard of. There are several hotels over the years that we've rated 2 stars in certain categories. Also it's important to understand the manner in which we review a hotel is very different from a trip-advisor/yelp review, which are based exclusively on an individuals own good/bad experience. We look at our reviews more holistically, reviewing categories based on the experience a guest can expect to have, rather than the individual experience we had.

    Why does it always look so empty there. Where are the people?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru Před 21 dnem

      haha I guess because there's a lot of beach! There's plenty of places with crowds, but we usually avoid those 😅 The Dominican Republic has over 1000 miles (1600 Kilometers) of sandy coast line, so there's a lot of room to spread out 🏖

    • @ralphtaylor787
      @ralphtaylor787 Před 18 dny

      @@TheYakora there are several different beaches in the area. Each has its own vibe. I prefer Playa Ballenas because I’m there to relax and that beach seems to never be crowded. People tend to get on my nerves and I don’t like crowds, so I don’t spend a lot of time at the other beaches. Playa Coson is a great beach to go to if you want the entire beach to yourself. We take 4 wheelers to that beach occasionally. You have to visit. Las Terrenas is a wonderful place.😃

      Hi there! thanks for your comment! There were no jetskis available when we were at the property and we never saw any out in the water. They do have kayaks and things like that. It's possible by the tours or the public beach offer jetskis so I would check down the beach :)

      Hey there! thanks for your comment! I hope so too :(. My hope is someone has come in and fixed it up - the problem is there is not much competition in Moorea so brands aren't "concerned" about it. That being said, the setting is just....unbelievable. The sea life is incredible, the beach is beautiful and moorea itself is our absolute favorite island to date. I do hope the hotel service and maintenance has changed but as long as you go in with the right expectations, I hope you end up getting blown away. Please do comment back after your trip to let us know if anything has changed! Our viewers would love to know and on a personal level, I am really hoping it has changed! xx, Maren

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru Před 23 dny

      Hi Linda! It is not adults only but we didn't see any families while we were there. I probably wouldn't recommend the hotel for families with small kids because there are a lot of steps and not a lot of amenities for children. it's more of a romantic spot than a family-oriented hotel
