Growing OKRA From Seed - 100 Days Time Lapse
Timelapse video of me growing okra from seed over 100 days! I nurtured okra plant from a tiny seed to full growth, capturing every step of the process. Growing okra from seed in containers at home shouldn't be to difficult. Unfortunately, in my case, the harvest did not go as I expected. Waiting to see the flower turn into an okra but it didn't happen 😢😢😢
I tried but this timelapse project wasn’t successful. 🥲
Okra flowers need a day-night cycle to open and blossom properly. An okra flower typically opens in the morning and wilts by the afternoon. It has a short window of few hours and If pollinated successfully - it'll become an okra pod. In studio time lapse videography usually there's no day-night cycle which can explain why the flower fails to blossom properly.
The harvest did not go as expected but I still wanted to share it since the video took more than 3 months to make. Not all timelapse project is a success. I might try this one again in the future. 🙏
Why did only one side grow?
Not quite sure. I watered on both the sides but seems like one side wasn’t as good at retaining the moisture.

Complete beginner here, is there a video or link where i can learn how to properly prune the plant?
This tomato plant was a determinate variety (no vines) and I read that pruning doesn’t help determinate ones. For the others, pruning improves yield and promotes growth. I haven’t made videos on that topic but you can find them on YT. All the best!

What soil are you using
This was peat moss mostly, recently I have switched to a different much darker soil which I find works better for house plants.
I have little sticks in mine thanks for this hack going to steal my kids pencils now 😊

They are awesome to eat fresh out of the garden. I love the peppery taste . But they are not spicy. Leaves have a mild cabbage taste. They go great in a salad ir with a steak.

What if the container was sealed without air , would it still grow
It would still grow for some days. Underwater plants take oxygen from the water. I think once the leaves come above on the surface that's when it breathes from air.
