It depends on the stock. So with a $500 risk and a 10 cent stop loss, you can buy $500,000 worth of the $100 stock. The key difference is that with a higher priced stock ($100 vs $1), your $500 risk can buy a much larger total dollar amount of the shares ($500,000 vs $5,000). This is because the stop loss of 10 cents per share is a much smaller percentage of the $100 stock price compared to the $1 stock price.

You're Killing it! In trading I believe your #1 priority should be risk management. There are 1000s of strategies out there but the real difference between a profitable trader and a non profitable one will be how they manage their risk during trades. Learning how to let your winning trades run and how to cut your losses short will significantly increase your chances of profitability in the long run

It obviously is fun to pay yourself with trading nothing better. I am up ~$423k in the last six months and a half :)

If it was easy everyone would be at it mate and we'd have walking billionaires, its why my message is always do it alongside other things, or get a job, work on yourself your mindset your emotional composure, habits, health its way more than just technicals and I found that out the hard way myself

Couldn’t have said it any better myself, managing emotions and resilience are key to trading unfortunately most won’t pay attention to this until they’ve gone through the motions of getting smashed about then they look for clarity on the psychological and emotional aspects. I'd say having guidance from an experienced pro that's done and gone through all the hassle of refining and applying to suit is always a smart alternative to scoring winning trades while you learn to better yourself as an amateur. Works for me so far!
