Just bought this game on steam after playing tons of milsim and realism focused shooters. Fuck I’m overwhelmed like crazy with this. Trying to get the key binds for the 4 different types of aiming and toggling optics. Seems fun and feels great base without mods but damn.

What happened? I don't remember any of this being a thing used to be as simple as host and done

i dont know what went wrong but i did everything like you showed and ended up with half the perfomance... i started with 60-80 and ended up with 15-30

I don’t know what it is but something about the more zoomed in fov of default is just so much more “captivating” to me. Maybe it’s because there’s less information on the screen and it’s naturally zoomed in and focused to where it makes my mind focused too. But the modern fov is like if you sat back and looked at things from like far away. Sure it may be “realer” but something about it seems “off” to me and almost less exciting or interesting

2024 here, im playing arma3 - looking into mods. Now you've broken down the steam workshop page brilliantly, but god its overwhelming pressing "add all" to 100+ mods. a 3 minute video showing a fresh player what to do would be huge, or if you have one already and you could link it to me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your effort, it's really helpful. But I must say the editing makes it a confusing viewing experience, would have been much better just using plain cut. Second, it would be much better if you compare the same scenes throughout, makes it a much better comparison video. Right now some scenes are replayed some are continued, along with the confusing transitions it's hard to watch.

I got arma 3, question though is it possible to join games with the ones that has the dlc in it? I know some are optionals except the map expansions... The servers are overwhelming but I guess you explaining warlord mode and I did try KOTH in a bit. First pve experience was quite plain...maybe because nobody was talking. Probably if I stick to KOTH or something. Tbh not so exciting first experience in arma. Was looking for the milsim experience

I actually though this wouldnt work but it changed my fps from 10-40 to stable 35-60. It also removed random lag spikes. So yeah it might seem like a small change but the game is actually playable now! Thanks i guess.. Edit: no shit i get low fps when while playing arma it uses 75% and while playing other games for example dying light it uses 99% 💀

wtf? went from 40 to 10 fps in eastwind...

I have a shit box of a pc but even still this helps me have at least 50-60 fos and it makes arms playable even in servers with 100+ people this guy never misses

PSA: I don't know about Arma 3 Remastered, but be aware that mods often break the East Wind campaign, and it's a good idea to play that campaign with out any mods active. With one exception: you will need the Remove Stamina mod, because this campaign was designed before stamina was implemented. You AI squadmates will race ahead of you to the next objective, and you won't be able to keep up with them without the mod. Eventually, you'll get to a mission where this breaks the scripting and prevents you from being able to complete the campaign.
