Hi Laura, near the end of this video you metion your next video (reorder folders and files outside of lightroom ) I have searched and searched but cannot find that video, My problem is I changed computer and my external drives have changed their number.. HELP please.

Thank youuuuu!! I'm color correcting some real estate photos of my investment property and lost my entire Develop panel and the all the panels on the left.

I use an old version of photoshop (CS3) which has picture packages but I can set up a custom outer (DL size 8x4") and then insert another cell or cells and then do a batch so that I get an image to fill the entire DL background and the give a number of finished cards with a headshot in the small cell - this has come from a folder of photos. Can I do this using lighroom? I do use a more unto date copy of photoshop but this doesn't have picture packages

what is a creative cloud subscription, i just want to use my lightroom software which I bought. I do not want to be a slave to a subscription service, that is just ripping the public off. just buy the software you want to use. not rent it. getting annoyed withthis mopdern american world.

not sure what an apple duck was. And how to update and use 100% offline ( once installed) I disapprove of wasteful cloud secretly copying my data.I do not want to need to be online to use my pc, that is silly.

Thank you Laura very helpful. I am in the process of changing from Capture One back to LR Classic but would still like to use C1 for my tethered shooting - it does seem superior in this function. From what you say it should be possible to have LR to monitor what is going into a Capture One 'Capture' folder. However ideally I wouldn't want LR and C1 running at the same time on my laptop; would it be okay if LR was turned off during shooting and simply turn it back on at the end of the shoot and LR would then import all the pix from the 'Capture folder ? Seems as though that should work.

Hi Laua.. when Im in the develop or library tab and say i have 100 images, how do I stop the thumbnails auto centre jumping.. Ive hated this 'helpful feature' for years.. drives me insane.. I just want the thumbnails to stay put and if I want to move them left or right I just use my mouse.. fyi.. photo>advance is OFF,, thanks if you can help with this

hi Laura I currently use a laptop and i have the main catalogue, and backups, and images on the external SSD. I'm soon getting a desktop PC which i want to use most of the time, and sometimes use the laptop with the same catalogue What i want to do though is transfer the main catalogue from the external SSD to the new desktop PC for better performance, while keeping the images on the external SSD, along with the backups of the catalogue, but also occasionally use the external SSD on the laptop. Is this possible to do or even beneficial? I prefer not to store the images on the desktop nor the laptop

Uuuugh. I have searched the world wide web for the past few hours trying to find missing things in my LR and still can't figure it out. Please help!!! I have the most recent LR Classic update 13.0.1 and I am trying to use the custom mask effects but I don't have that option under mask. The custom button in Effects is MIA as are the little boxes to the left of the words like "effect" and "tone" where half the box is colored and the other half not. Eye icons are dark and I can't turn them on. Anyone know what I can do to find these missing things??? Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance.

Lightroom in itself is a mess. It is so poorly designed that it needs clean up. With its incremental design the internal code is spaghettis code. My biggest example is using an image in everyday usage like inserting in a file, or sending in email. A common task. YOU HAVE TO EXPORT! Ugh. Millions of people just want to organize and fix. They aren’t photographers. Adobe could have made a drop down menu to squiggly export and copy. Noooooo. Let’s make everything more complicated. It reminds me of modern web design. Lots and lots of clicks, lots and lots of scrolling. Todays youth have made modern apps a life style not a tool. Imagine I want to dig a hole. I have to get the shovel, attach the handle, align the handle, spray a nonstick coating on the steel. IT’S A TOOL. As I wrote this comment the author was drowning on. How many word did she have to say to explain a content management tool. Wow, step back Lightroom users and demand an improved user process. It’s just a tool…

You used Disk Manager to fix drive letter on Windows XP, and still do on Windows 11. Once I have moved my catalogue to an external drive, I think I will just open it from Explorer. If LrC is set to open last catalogue, and I saw yours was, then it will want the external one next time If there is non on the internal drive, there's no likelihood of LrC opening it. An alternative way to fix the drive letter: net use P: e:\2023\Pictures It stays until you delete it for next year. Be away, LrC will get upset if you use a different drive or path top open the catalog, it won't find the pictures. The catalogue is an SQLite database, I intend to explore it more closely some time.

Hi Laura. A small but helpful tip PLEASE? How to colour the highlight when i am moving a file? I have seen on CZcams that when people move a file from one place to another the chosen destination ids coloured perhaps blue!! How do they do that?? It makes the destination much more accurate.
