What happens to the gold that gets burned out with the laser?? Vaporized? Can you recycle any of it?

I think you missed a critical step here..... You should have enquarted your gold blob to reduce the concentration of gold to other base metals..... Sterling silver is a good metal to enquart with, you want an alloy of about 25 percent pure gold to 75 percent base metals.... It makes it much easier to refine.... Aqua Regia works much better at these concentrations.... It may take several washes/boils but you get a cleaner end result... Look... If you want to know where I got this info from.... Go on you tube... The man you want to talk to is "sreetips".... He's a navy master chief and quite the amature chemist.... But he has been doing this for years.... Reach out to him.... He knows his shit....

The losses I spotted in beakers and rinses in the first half hurt a bit. Easily would have paid for the supplies and materials needed for the refinement. I can only hope all that was captured meticulously off camera and just not shown. Nice job for a first attempt!
