about:
my name is Jordan Mantzke and I am a goldsmith. I'm starting a vlog to help enrich my life and maybe a few of yours. - Jak na to + styl
PSA to anyone on here watching Jordan's amazing work and wondering if they should have something made... Just do it already! I had a custom-designed moissanite engagement ring made and it's absolutely breathtaking and unique! This guy's work is dope!
It's like a pasta maker but for gold!
Forbidden pasta
My thoughts exactly! 😂
Having seen comments on a bunch of videos saying gold bands are just basic and boring, when you're commissioned a piece and can provide exactly what the customer wants, the joy and excitement in their eyes is everything. It makes the gold bands a special piece and even with this video showing them snippets of how it's done, makes it even more special. I actually love plain gold bands, having polished a lot of them at work, the shine and mirror finish you can achieve on them is completely different to the polish of a ring full of stones :)
I love this channel because even though ring making is something I’ve never personally been invested in, it’s always inspiring to see someone so passionate and knowledgeable about their craft. I always find myself relaxed watching these videos, and I come away knowing more than I did before.
The leaf ring was so beautiful though...
Inspiration to the fullest. When I start to doubt my work I turn to your videos to help keep my chin up. Thank you for being you, and sharing a little of you to all of us!!
I love this channel and I did not find it through Ariana Grande :)
hahahah this is great bragging point as 95% of my subs came from that video :)
Same! Came here via the lab diamonds vid lol
What happened with Ariana Grande?
@@sparksfly6149 be replicated her new engagement ring
I came when the musicians where playing out side loved that buy they way
It's truly amazing how much hands on work is required to make something so seemingly simple like a gold wedding band. Awesome video! So interesting to learn about the process!!
Missed you, mate. Glad you’re finding a way to make videos again thats fun and sustaining. Learning a lot from your channel!
watching metals melt is one of my favouritest things. I'd love a supercut of all the times you've melted gold and/or silver!
I like the shiny new rolling mill! David over at pepe tools is the best :) Great tools and fantastic customer service.
Agree! A nice addition to the shop
Love watching these videos. One of these days, I'm going to have something custom made from some jewelry pieces, I inherited from my grandmother. They've been sitting in my jewelry box for 2,5 decades now...time to actually make them wearable for me.
I never get tired of watching molten metal! Love your channel! ; )
Polish the like button? Yes please👌🏻👌🏻
The only channel I will have the notification bell for. I am SO pumped for this Modern Goldsmith content 🤩
This guy deserves _a lot_ more views.
Wow 😲 after polishing it blew my mind. 👌🏼
I want to wear more rings but the width of my fingers are slightly on the larger end for women so I have a hard time finding cute rings that fit and doesn't need to be custom (for example in regular stores with accessories)
A lot of jewellery makers will cater to larger sizes! I have super chunky fingers, but I love the look of very dainty rings. I have several now, you may not be able to get them cheaply but it's worth it!
At least it doesn't sound like you have large knuckles. It sucks having rings constantly rotate.
@@Shock_Treatment - Sizing balls might make that problem a little easier to manage? 🤔 He has a video regarding "Inside Ring Balls" that might be helpful. It's just a thought - have a nice day!😉
Don’t worry about the size of your finger! Find a ring you love, and as long as the ring band doesn’t have stones in it (like a pave band), or doesn’t have a fancy pattern, you can enlarge rings to whatever size you want! I make jewelry, and it’s simple to cut the ring shank and add a small bit of metal to enlarge the ring. If it’s only a small increase you need, ring stretchers are often used by jewellers to stretch out the metal slightly to make the ring bigger. I have the opposite problem - I have really tiny fingers - but removing a small bit of metal is also fairly easy.
would really love to see a video compiling all of the mistakes you made
Yeesss
Since birth, or?

Subscribed when you did the Ariana ring video, stayed because a short sweet video where you take one thing and turn it into another was perfect with my morning coffee. I'm an artist and I really love seeing how other artist's work because *you can't do it all*. I love the personal touches like getting the new wrench and explaining how you work ethically with scraps. Keep doing you, that's the part I enjoy the most.
When I saw the final, shiny rings: 🤯😍
Me too!! Those are my favorite style of wedding band. In fact, I collect them! I have been since the Internet became a "thing!" Well, at least since it advanced to the point where *bay became a "thing" and then I more recently became a customer for several shops on *!$y.😉 I've got several dozen wedding bands, mostly of gold, more yellow than white, because that's what was popular back in "my day" when I was young, and got married in the mid 70s. Yellow gold was just what we wore. Now, white has been "the thing" for a couple of decades, and I buy silver. It's very much like white gold to me, but very much less expensive!!
Your "polish that like button" comment really worked. I did indeed click that like button due to the comment :)
Expanding your demographics 😌 Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
The more I watch you, the more I want to do what you do
Wow, they look amazing.
Oh look at that shiny like button nice and polished 😁
Everyone did a great job
I love your videos!!! So glad another is out!!!! ❤️❤️ your so talented! Love you!
I just love your videos! It's so fascinating watching you doing your work ❤️
The rolly machine brings back so many memories. I did a year of gold and silversmithing at uni (I will always regret not finishing). Someone ran titanium filigree through the shop rollers and damaged sections of it right when all of us were learning to make silver chains. Oh fun.
Such beautiful simple rings!
Recycling is so important and sometimes meaningful :)
Beautiful work!
I really enjoy watching your videos!
I need to hit you up, I want to get my husband a new ring. Awesome video! Love your work! 💯💯💯
Polish that like button. How clever! Haha
I always enjoy your videos.
Perfect 👌
Just amazed 😍
The info about the scraps was super interesting! :)
Fascinating.
I have been WAITINGGG for this
these two 'new' rings are 'de la grande classe' ! such a ring, with 1 welding, could it be enlarged simply with a 'ring widener' like you showed in an other video? I enjoy your vlogs, greetings from Quebec
Love your work bro. I'm a true fan of your craft! Could you make a chain with old gold? I would love to see that.
I polished the like button dear talented artist
Haha! Thank you very much
polished the shit out of the like button
Dang.... Now I feel like I need these lol
They might be thin bands but the are thick. Beautiful
Wow 🤩
Omg my mom has that exact leaf pattern ring

Nice❤
Would be cool to see one of these videos in an unedited form.. close ups, macro shots, no music, just the sound of the torch, file, and all other tools.. extended video too. Edit: and no talking.. just the sound of the work.
Fantastic video, definitely a new subscriber! One thing I'm curious about though is the solder - if it's not gold, how do you end up with a smooth gold surface without that tiny mark of whatever material the solder is made of? ( If it's a silver colour, how come there's no silver line where the two ends are soldered?)
Wow
Nooooiiiiiiiiice.
i polished the like button 😏
Who would have known that one tiny piece of jewelry needs such heavy machinery to craft it.
Will you test a Pompeii diamond?
0:00 OH MY GOD! VSAUCE!
I love the simplicity of both rings, but what happens to the excess gold?
He explains that in his video❤
YOU ARE FUNNY,PRICELESS
Beautiful! Please tell me, what camera do you use for filming?
Thanks! Canon C70
Its a shame the jewelers near me only want to offer scrap price for my gold and won't rework any of the items I currently have.
Just want to know if the excess gold was returned to the owner.
can you turn a 14k size 8 ring that has been cut, into a closed heart shape with hammer marks designs?
Are you still working with gold if so do u make other things? I have rings that were my dads and I’d like to make a pendant the gold and diamonds .
Come on back👍✌
How do you anneal 14k yellow gold.
i love rings but i lose them all the time cuz im between sizes not exactly a size 7 but its the closest. still lost all my rings wearing them tho lol
Instead of polishing. I dipped the like button in the stuff that makes it white. Hope that's ok?
It’s jewellers or safety pickle. You pickled your like button lol 😁
Does ANYONE know the name of this song? 🥺 I'm trying to find it. Starts around 6:08.
I’m sorry to let you know that you won’t find it! I most always mess with the music I use in my videos to make it even more “original” haha. I can’t remember the original song but I’ll try to find it
"Is This Love"- Particle House (Feat. Le June)
Nice work! Did anyone else notice the torch flame looks like a woman in it.

Where do u live I want to go u I’d like to remake something s maybe u can create some nice piece for me!
its a shame that cute leaf ring is no more.... 💔
you are so cute & funny :)
Soldering not sardering.
same old just two thinner rings nothing special or earth shattering
would love to know your thoughts on needle baguette style rings. are they difficult to make? what sort of prongs are needed? does the shape make it fragile? for reference: www.artemerstudio.com/collections/engagement/products/ooak-baguette-diamond-solitaire-ring-minimalist-engagement-ring
