Diablo 12 gauge handgun. Buy online, no ffl needed. Load with 120 grains black powder and a 12 gage slug. You have two shots. GO!
I love this guy !! So having a 9 footer , head and all on the bed in the other room is a constant reminder of the machine that these things are. Also , the same day that one went down there were three of us , guide included , standing at the kill when a young bear decided to make his presense and his ferocity known . However much time you think you have , you simply dont . Whatever it is you think youre gonna do ? You arent . Nothing prepares you for how fast they close that gap on bluff. This training would have been awesome to have before my experience with these animals. I will ad a couple of things , one of which was touched on here and that is. Im not sure any foot work is the best use of the limited time you have the risk of tripping or falling on terrain is great as well . This bear is on a rail and he isnt tracking you as a live bear would be and these old boys are a hell of alot better at running you down than you are at running away. Creating distance is just the first natural instinct but I feel its a waste of time and that shot placement is whats going to save you , not the foot work. Watching some of the guys videos that does the "Death at my feet" thing in africa kinda reinforces that opinion. You can survive an attack if you brought the right tools and have the nerve to use them as affective as they can be used. The second thing is vigilance . Not presenting yourself on a platter for Mr Brown in the first place . I havnt been all over Bear country but the parts I have been in up in Alaska are certainly to the bears advantage and when those thoughts get in your head its a downright creepy place to be. Avoid close proximity to good bear cover and avoid being distracted from the fact that you came to a place where you are NOT the top of the food chain and the critters that live there make a carreer out of killing. Last but not least and something I dont hear mentioned much in any Grizz related stuff is that these Bears are looked after in most states . They are protected , What the guide said to us that day the young bear closed that gap on three guys with rifles stuck with me . "Ive got him if need be , remember that if we return with another dead bear and none of us have teeth marks on us , were gonna be in deep shit"......Guide carried a big bore iron sighted carbine.. Love the video guys...
Guns and bullets are so neutered these days with the cheaper metals they use in guns. They act like you are getting something innovative but forget about the past and how they used to process ammo. Remember they compared an 80gr. to a Hornady 114gr. Both had reasonably the same results visually. They did not measure the expansion size in the slo-mo.Is that difference engogh to make a difference? Are you going to pay way more for a bullet that is over designed? You want to go through stuff put a heavier bullet and more powder in it. But you can't cause the metal and plastic might break in the gun. Gone are the days when you could get a .357 mag 158/186gr. and do 1400+ fps in a 6 inch barrel or +P+ in your Styer GB at 1300+ fps. So keep on trying to play off the innocence of younger generations that does not know there was definitely something way better in the past. Or do something different.... not play by SAMII rules and make real ammo that can make a one shot stop.

.
Does anyone know what handgun they are using for the bullet testing? Is it a CZ?
"Like your mother"
I really love that you guys pitted 2 completely different rounds against each other. Nothing equal about them. Crit def isnt designed for anything the G is. You guys should have used Crit Duty. You know this. Way to shill and make up results.
It seems to me that a manufacturer might build a large caliber carbine for this backwoods market.
Do these have options for weapon mounted lights
Low bore axis is the biggest myth about CZ guns. Just because you can't see half the slide, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I'd go with the Revolver.
Best way, don’t be where grizzlies are at
Bazooka
Now we have ammo that will more effectively penetrate a wall to hit someone on the other side that has nothing to do with the threat? Really?
I got your holsters for this. One light bearing and one regular non-light bearing. Excellent holsters! Thank you!
If you're going to do tests like this, trying to sell a particular ammo, you need to invest the money on new gel blocks for every shot. There were several here that made me wonder if previous shots has affected the later shots. I'm not sold on this. It's not as if it is actually a "new" design bullet.
Been carrying Underwood for some time. G9 still seems goofy to me. They basically stole Lehigh's round by losing a flute. I'll stick with Lehigh and Underwood, thanks
Intresting! Nobody talks about a charging moose, yet I know two people personally that have been charged by moose in Achorage. Seems locals are more concerned with moose, then bears!
The only factor not analyzed is the separate densities of the organs affected by the wound channels, most not having a significant effect individually unless actually penetrated
21:00 the solids ricocheted...
Smith, they WONT on a bear. The WFNs hardcasts travel straight & bust right on through bones, TOUGH muscles & get max penetration. For some odd reason I don't understand the frontal pressure wall on the WFNs seems to work better than any expander in handgun rounds. The HOT loaded Extrema penetrator rounds are also great.
I want 1000% agree both I also carry both, we have grizz and cats here I've been carrying revolver forever now. But i have considered a 10mm because of the capacity and Power recoil as well. The shoot nice I haven't decided yet tho
Thank you for what you do! Soli Deo Gloria 👍🏽
It's a cipy-cat round. They copied tHe InceptOr ARX, which I have been using for quite some rime.
I got the xtreme penatrator rounds from underwood in 9mm when they were still controversial whether they really preformed as advertised and they were mostly only thought of as defense from large game as they would penatrate deeply without the path curving threw a body the hollow ridges had debate whether they realy gave any ballistic advantages over a fmj I fully believed they did tho still for regular self defense on a person regular hollow points where a bit more proven and where whY I chose to carry
Ruger Redhawk 4.2 in 45 LC. Guides Choice Chest Holster. Ashley Emerson's Garrett 365 gr or 405 gr SuperHardCast Hammerheads @ 1250 fps.
Great crew,and vid !!
Great give assess for reloaders ,would be cool !!
I think you guys know the difference between Critical Defense and Critical Duty.
I have an M&P Performance Center 5.6 inch barrel running a TLR1 light and a red dot. Will your Kenai holster work with this set up without having to remove my iron night sights?
They dont make auto loaders in .454
The best Grizzly bear defense? A BAZOOKA! Next question?
I like these rounds. Will see where and when I can purchase and cost. Then try just a few at the range for 9 and 10mm for my carry’s and see how much more comfortable in the same guns with these rounds! Can’t wait!!!!
I heard stories about 10mm not able to stop a bear fast enough. With several shots bear can still charge at you.
This guy is acting like they came up with the bullet shape and the flutes. Barnes started fluting bullets about 40 years ago and LeHigh Defense has had these type of bullets for years.
Alternate smj and critical defense hollow points in mag...just a thought
Seems great for leo/mil, but for ccw and home defense, I don't want it penetrating drywall and car doors.
Dumb question! Do you want 6 rounds or 15?
Do you support P320 with Gas Pedal and Romeo 1 Pro?
... Do proper preparation when planning to be in bear country ,, know your weapon(s) and capability ,, remember a bear focused on you is not going to be a straight line rush , they also can pivot and stay on target ... One or two hits may or may not stop the attack ... Have heard of two hunters with a local skilled guide that shot a large Grizzly ,, Guide requires you to sit and smoke a pack of cigarettes before approaching the downed bear ... They didn't show up back at camp when expected and another couple guides went to search ,, found a dead bear and three dead hunters .... Seems even when shot multiple times the nervous system of the bear didn't know it was dead ... completed task at hand ...
I'm more concerned about over penetration inside my home than being able to go though a wall or door. In fact, i want the opposite.
Why do some guys think it looks good to wear such unnecessarily tight pants, especially pants that aren't supposed to be just for looks? Those types of pants are designed with all those pockets and reinforced, double-stitched knee pads, those guys would be lucky if they could take a knee without cutting off the circulation to one leg or fit anything more than a couple of credit cards and a driver's license in those pockets that are meant for stuff lik a Leatherman.
If the flare didn’t scare the bear away the ensuing forest fire would.
Are you hiring? I would love to work for you.. I currently live in Washington and ready to move to idaho ASAP.. thanks a lot Nicole
Most bears will stalk you from behind. Giving you even less time to react. Bear in front of you is a startled bear and may just run away. Do not follow it. A bear from behind is out to kill you.
A fat buddy who runs slower than you is the best defense.
The science seems solid , I'll definitely have to give this ammo a try .
