Does anybodies knees. Shoulders. Elbows. ?? Ankles ??? Click and pop. Especially in colder months. ???? 🧐 heard something about that clicking being they’re knees and ankles. Tendons. Can’t say for sure. Then again sounds like a HOG
Looks very similar to 2 tether method, where they use just on foot ,,I do have a problem with the one foot method cause of pressure spied to outside of foot,,you may have an alternative here
Is the same as using an ascender and a foot aider just more steps and worse equipment put some HD zip ties on your ropes with the tails sticking out to act as handles. It will allow you to flip your tethers up the tree a lot easier.
Pretty hard to see much of what you did in the video because of the far distance of the camera to where you were. I couldn’t really tell what you were doing to go around limbs. If you make another video, could you show closer up what your doing with your extra carabiner to get around limbs.
I have a 1/2” rope that goes through holes drilled in either end of the foot board that is tied in a continuous loop through a prussik that connects to the lower tether for adjustment.
Dam, bud this looks like the real deal, only thing you can't climb tree's with limbs or do you have that figured out now, do you make that wood step can you make a description picture of that set up,looks great
I used sticks and a 4 step aider quite a bit this season and they work pretty slick. However when I’m going deep I still go with this rope method as it is a lot lighter and more compact.
Not usually- it would be pretty unstable in that regard. If you could strap it tightly to the tree it could work, but would need additional structural support.
I got so fucking tired of listening to you waste my time talking. Goodbye, at 2:53. Next time, just keep your mouth shut, and show us quickly how something is done.
Sam Potter. I'm interested in seeing how you made that foot climber section. Been rolling thoughts in my head about how to make it and maybe seeing yours will help me.
YES!! Finally the "clicking" sound I've heard 2-3 times and tried to describe to my buddies - none of whom have heard it evidently. And, in fact, this isn't *quite* what I've heard on two occasions, but VERY close. What I've heard is more like a "ticking" than a clicking, and even very, very barely resembles "buzzing." But your video is closer than anything else I've come across.
I heard this sound while hiking in a dense fog in the Alpine mountains. It scared me to death. That was yesterday. So happy I found this explanation. The animal must have been metres away from me.
I had the same thought as you and tried it. I found 2 major issues: 1) the carabiner tends to jam up so tight you can hardly unscrew the gate lock when you need it, and 2) the tether slides too easily within the carabiner, so when you move the tether up the tree it won’t stay in place without tension.
@@etworker Gotcha.......We have more trees with limbs in my world than without. Still excited to play with this climbing method for this season. I think it has great potential!
I'm just starting into saddle hunting, getting myself set up and will practice this summer. Your method will get me off the ground for sure! Thank you for sharing your idea! I really like it.
Good video! This is a great back up to when you just don't want to haul in bunch of climbing sticks. I'm wondering if you could just use rope? No wood needed if you used two loops for your feet. I would seem based on the principles used in your climbing method the whole concept is about alternating at different heights the pressure/elevation change. Very good cool concept
Heard this today for the first time
Finally what I've been trying to describe
I find this hilarious. Who hunts all day in that thing?
I heard this sound just before daylight almost like a woodpecker but just once for only a couple seconds.
What Pine did you use?
Needed to get up a wood utility pole. Thanks for sharing.
Dude what an awesome Idea. Hit me up I have some ideas to toss at you
Gives a hole new meaning to 1 sticking 😆

Cool trick! Where did you get the saddle?
Thanks for the content. Keep up the good work. BS'D

Sam, thank you for your climbing update and improved system and technique , it is a winner !
Hey, what saddle was that? Do you still use this method? If no, what do you use now?

Clever man 👍👍, thanks for sharing.
Brilliant!...Thanks for sharing..
So this is what I heard when I was outside in the early mornin
Genius
That was pretty cool thanks
Can you get steady shots off the board as a platform and how comfortable is it?
Genius. I envision a race to improve and quiet and bring to market

I like your method. Looks safe and easy.

Hello Sam, thank you for the info and video. How do you connect the foot tether to the foot "Y" bridge rope?
I have a 1/2” rope that goes through holes drilled in either end of the foot board that is tied in a continuous loop through a prussik that connects to the lower tether for adjustment.
Awesome idea. I tried something similar but I couldn't get it to work. I see you using that piece of wood. I think that would make the difference.

get sticks and an aider and u will be much happier!!

6 minutes wasted talking. Just show us quickly how it is done. Keep your dumb ass mouth shut.

Next time. Keep your stupid comments to yourself.

Genius!
What brand of saddle is that
That's an original Trophyline Tree Saddle I bought at Bass Pro back in 2007.
Great job , thanks I think I will give it a try.

You opened some eyes thanks
Now that is a nice trick thumbs up
Have you tried adding carabiners to your tether ropes for quick disconnect to go around limbs?
I had the same thought as you and tried it. This is a bit late response, but do not use carabiners for this purpose, it can lead to cross loading and damage/break the carabiner. Use a quick link
I'm going to give your method a try! Thanks for sharing!

It depends on your boots. I originally tried without a foot board and found I didn't like the way the rope dug into my feet.
That’s a kool idea bud thanks for sharing
Very cool! where did you learn this? I'd like to see more examples.
Yup
