Ai dungeon is pretty cool, especially for an AI tool, but it still can't handle separate view points or spacing, like every language model.

We had four to five campaigns running simultaneously at my house at one point. Everyone i play with is too experienced theyd suss out too much... Simplified mechanics always make it feel weirdly less immersive for me. I can do quick math maybe thats part of it. But yeah if i noticed every mob of a specific type dealt 4, 12, or sixteen dmg that would work its way into my experience... Too obviously mechanical. Also the initiative staying the same makes sense for ease of use but then i feel like it takes away from the random and spontaneous element of combat. All those uncontrollable variables is what makes it fun for me as a GM. Ive had to rewrite a storyline i soent hours working on because my players went completely off script and did some random thing... And that turned into a well loved and long running campaign setting amongst our group. There are still people playing in my little world... My actual planned and written plot never has gotten used yet... If we ever do circle back that tie in is going to be phenomenal.

I'd say in one on one cases yes, but next to two or more enemies disengage keeps you from triggering all opportunity attacks on the way to where you are going. Which is still more useful than just one enemy.

I think the neo stuff should be avoided. At least tred carefully here because we can loose the definiton of a good villan! Original three types: Green, sea and frost. When we get into blood type, abyssal type etc. etc. are we really talking about another moster altogether? Seems to me... it may be an actual hag spell! Keep it simple or fall for her disguise!

Your analysis is excellent. I actually use hexes for combat.. with a few homebrews that make it work better than squares. ... One thing that I use are cards with questions that the PCs ask each other about their lives. During exploration I pick a card to start conversations and develop characters.

This isn't that great. The spell is limited by 5ft, so if the target being covered is taller than 5ft, the spell won't work. It also requires an action to cast it, the same as disengage. The only benefit would be using it for a teammate to disengage but even then, the 5ft limit really breaks the spell. This spell isn't that well designed for combat.

I came up with a new idea for this race, imagine how powerful a bugbear could be if he/she was given Werebear Lycanthropy.

I often hear DMs saying how "a battle doesn't always have to be fought to the end; sometimes different conditions can be met to win." This is a good example of how to meet those conditions. Here's one I just thought of relating to a common magic item: Hell hath no hold on a woman's scorn Eternally kept searching in her mourn For when her love doth flew away She was taxed with gravity to pay. Enemy: Banshee (mourning woman) Alt ending: play the staff of birdcalls when you see her. And gift her a parrot statue. Why?: She died falling out the window to catch her bird, bound by her desire to see it again. The staff reminds her of this desire and the statue becomes a replacement bird.

So it would be guard>reception>doing freak stuff with teeth>fight a dentist>reward by being arrested for breaking into a dentist office and attack him while high on meth if it was a one shot campaign
