probably has a 8 1/4 rear with 2.71 gear. and has a 904 transmission.that has twice pipes. id drive and enjoy it and make sure the air works . run car in neutral. when these old torqueflites sit the torque convertor drains back fluid to the pan and leaks through the shift shaft seal and trans pan. the manual valve is spaced diferently. that hotty 4 door sounds pretty good.beleive it or not driving that on a trip youll pull about 16-20 mpg tuned up properly.

No hate at all, Brother - I’m a dyed-in-the-wool GM guy, but the first car I owned was a ‘70 Satellite. I put Bowtie hubcap stickers on it, stuck a Heartbeat of America strip across the top of the windshield, and got a vanity plate that said AKA CHVY 😂 I still own GM vehicles, but the last two vehicles I bought were a Dodge Durango, and a Jeep WJ (with a Dodge 4.7 V8). S’all good brother; drive whatcha like… long as it isn’t a Ricer. 🚫😏

A 1300 Dodge Coronet you can't go wrong with that I love the front end of those 1970s dodges they always look so badass and it was great to see a cameo of the 499 dollar jeep

As soon as I saw 4 doors and heard that Highland Park Hummingbird starter, I knew it was a 318. Sounds decent through the Slowmaster mufflers. I'd slap a trunk floor in it, fix a few other bits, tune her up and stick her in Power Tour next year!

The trunk rust is standard issue, one of the best that I have seen to be honest.

Drop a cam in it and put a 4 barrel carb and some headers it will wake up that 318

In my opinion, it would be foolish to breakdown this car, steal it's engine, and replace it with something else. It's fine just as it is. Give it some fresh rubber, fix the A/C, and stop the leaks from the windshield and trunk seal. Check the shafts on the windshield wipers on the cowl, mine leaked on a dart. Then do some quick and dirty sheet metal work on the trunk floor, and call it done. It doesn't need Posi, or a 4bbl and headers. Let the A/C blow, and the 2bbl 318 sip fuel. IF it were a Coronet Coupe, or Sport Satellite coupe, I'd be more inclined to give it some muscle, but as it sits, it's a perfect 1970's Taxi grade 4-door cruiser, and I love it. I know your intentions are to make it better, but I think your effort and resources would be better spent elsewhere. You can find a decent 318 pretty easy, Dylan McCool probably has 3 or 4 in his barn, so if the goal is an engine for your Plymouth, I'd just do that and leave this sweet old Coronet as is!

Love that front end. My dad had a 70 coronet wagon when I was a kid. I thought it was the coolest car around. Until my 16 year old brother introduced it to a ditch and a telephone pole! Bye bye Coronet

Older model dump trucks had reverse threads on the left side of the trucks as well, they actually have an R for the right side and an L for the left, I always thought it was because they carry so much weight on them, I wouldn’t think any Cadillac would cause the lugs to back off🤷🏻‍♂️

We run Hancook tires on our dump trucks, they’re pretty heavy duty tires , you should be able to buy a new 2 piece trunk pan which makes it easier to get it into the trunk then weld up the seam and edges, I would put a big block in the barracuda since it’s a muscle car and the 318 is not muscle, my dads 79 power wagon club cab had a 318 in it, great motors just no muscle , that GT wood steering wheel is the exact same one I put on my 70 chevelle 👍🏼

I had a beige '72😮 Dodge Polara (Walking Tall unmarked police car) It was grandpa Lagcher's car so it had a ball hitch so he could tow the creek boat down to the river Sunday afternoons,drown a few worms. 318/904 2bbl. That car got honest 20 mpg! Odd thing if I was towing a car with it, it got 22 mpg! That was the best riding car, if you think the 318 is weak you must have brake dragging or something because normally they'll scoot on down the road. And that torsion bar front/Leaf spring rear along with creature room, man I would fix that trunk and drive the wheels off'n it.I love those little blinking fender lights that remind you your turn signal is on, they should be standard equipment on all cars! What a find, I would drive that Bat mobile over my truck, I am farm boy, that is saying something. Four doors just makes it ride better. Two door cars are getting too hard to find, too expensive when you do find them. What a car, I bow to you Issac, I am not worthy!! Also don't forget left side wheel lugs😊 may be backward thread, pre 1972 mopars had that, no one knows why? Two things, a Rochester 2jet like off a '70 Chevelle will bolt on to the 318 and give you unlimited top end, and using a single exhaust Glasspack if you mount it in front of passenger side rear axle it's not loud, you get less restrictive without all the noise, mostly gas mileage improvement. My favorite part of driving my Polara ever time I stopped for gas, someone would ask me if it had a Hemi,I always lied and said yes! That car as a daily driver will change your life!

Those 318s were like the 289s, 327s, and 350 and 352 engines from the mid to late 20th century. Dead reliable and easy to maintain, no matter what type of vehicle it was used in.

i bought a 68 cornet 440 4 door. and it was a little old lady only drove it to church car had 18000 miles on it and i bought it in 1985. i drove it and it took forever but it would get to 5 mph but thats it no faster. the car ran great just no power. i drove it home and changed the plugs and wires. filter every normal tune up stuff. but i just no power. and my my uncle said he could fix it in 5 minutes. and he took it down the road got it up to speed and dropped it into low gear and hammered it. it started popping and then all you could see is black crap coming out the exhaust. the next thing i knew is we was running 120 mph. he broke all that carbine out of it. i loved that car.

My dad has a 76 chrysler with a non factory 318 i think its paired with a 727 but it moded and she can scream with a 4 barrel and some jet fuel

Ya know the difference between a 70 Hemi Cuda' and a 70 Dodge Coronet 4 Door? The Coronet is the only real numbers matching car at the car show. Just sayin'
