Aluminum 6.0 LS Inspection And Test Fire: LFA and 2ML70 Hybrid Escalade Drivetrain
I finally acquired one of the holy grails of LS engines: an aluminum 6 liter. Although it’s not technically an LS2 it’s still just as good. Other than my personal 2012 Silverado I’ve really never messed with (running) gen 4 engines, so I’m excited to continue to experiment with this one.
If anyone is looking for a used 2ML70 hybrid transmission please let me know. I don’t need this 300lb thing taking up space.

I was contacted by a viewer and told that they had an engine that was hastily swapped out of a 2017 Cadillac Escalade and had been sitting on his shop floor for about a year. Someone guessed that it potentially “dropped a valve” but no one had any idea. I was hoping that maybe it just had a common AFM lifter issue and that I would score one of my dream engines totally free. Nothing in life ever...

I almost bought one of these and then almost the newer one. I am doing a Ls3/6L90E swap in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I almost bought 1 but I wasn't sure if it was a headache. I was looking for a 6.0 when I came across a L94 6 2L block for $500. Si I dropped flat tops and turned it into a Ls3. My first swap but not my first engine.

If you’re planning on swapping the cam then the AFM motors are really good motors to look for. 99% of the time the lifter failures are what take the vehicles off the road in the first place. All of the “cheap” LS3’s I’ve seen for sale are totally internally destroyed.

Spark plugs on 1 and 3 is tricky but, slide a box end from under the plug the angle matches the block perfect, maybe a 2nd wrench since its hard to get power on it, if # 3 won't come straight out you can shim the mounts then its mostly easy plug change. I lost all my h body except 1 to severe rear and front rot, 75 2+2, 79 coupe,76 hawk,79 hatch. The only one that survives is a 79 formula sunbird silver , sun roof, delay , full gauges, black int , put a 357/th350 stage2 , it could beat 90's Vettes and Camero ,132 mph full valve float , fun car , I put a fuel sending unit from a 4 cyl which is ext mechanical ,it's just a pipe, then install a carter electric pump to the exhaust baffle after you drop that oem trash can of a muffler , can you just run turn downs before the axle ? I had a larger rad had to move the battery to passenger side. Fyi my old Qaud would run dry with the oem in tank pump.

Airbags windshields seats body panels frame sections engines transmissions entire wiring harnesses. Groups of people walk around looking over every single vehicle then start pulling parts.
