    Love the Review. I have a 2023 DCT. The only thing this bike is really missing is cruise control. My top 5 likes are: 1. The DCT, 2. MPG (I average 68-70mpg), 3. The Frunk, 4. Ergonomics (fits me well) 5. Good looking bike. My wish list for a future model: 1. Put the cruise control from the Rebel 1100 on it, 2. Put the TFT display from the Hornet on it, 3. A slightly softer seat please. As a 56 year old rider I love this bike. I also have a Can Am Spyder for two-up riding and wish it had full auto mode (you have to up shift them).

    The gun lock idea is great. My Shoei GT Air 2 has a ratchet style clip. You cant use the D ring hooks to lock your helmet to the bike. I'd be cautious about the pegs though. If you have hard bags on your bike and you stand on pegs to get on the bike, if it breaks and you're out on a ride ... well your kinda screwed.

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm Před rokem

      You make a good point about the pegs, but I never had a problem with them even though I routinely stood on the right peg to get on and off the bike.

  • @frankie7508

    Thank you for an informative review. As an experienced motorcyclist like yourself, I am considering one of these units. I currently own a 1998 Honda ST 1100 which I purchased originally and put 35,000 miles on over the years. But at 900 lb without me sitting on the bike , it's just become too big and heavy for me . I want something lighter , just this practical , excellent build quality and excellent weather protection so I look forward to any recommendations of yours. Prior to St, I had a Yamaha 400 which had a very good engine, and put about 6,000 Mi on that one; it was a great starter bike! With regard to your Honda 750 windscreen, I am 6 ft 1 in tall and have read many complaints that there is considerable buffeting at highway speeds and was wondering what your experience was with regard to this point? Also, if you had to do it again would you have just purchased a givi back case along with a givi rack to support it rather than the Honda rack? Lastly, my St has a shaft drive and I have been wondering about going back to chain and sprockets and whether or not you have had to adjust the chain after the first 800 miles due to initial wear of the chain. Again, thank you for a very good review and take care, safe riding.

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm Před rokem

      I replaced the oem ’short’ windscreen with the oem ’tall’ windscreen and haven’t been bothered by any buffeting. I’m 6’ tall with relatively shorter legs and taller torso for that height, so my 'helmet height' on the bike is probably similar to what yours would be. Putting my hand up, the air flow seems to be an inch or so above my helmet. The fact that I get very few bugs on my visor but plenty on the windscreen also suggests the flow is missing my helmet. I liked the look of the Honda rack (but not the price) and Givi made a mount specifically for the Honda rack. I’d do it again. I had a Yamaha FJR1300 with the shaft drive and thought it was great. I’m sure the drive was pretty heavy, but the bike was heavy enough that I doubt it mattered. Every other bike I’ve ever had has been chain driven. The added weight, I think, would be a big negative on the NC750. No adjustments or issues so far with its chain.

    lower seat seems perfect for 6' person. The 500x is about an inch higher; so a bit of a stretch to get off. ; but 4500.00 more for this vs a cb500x is a thought ; given you don't need a dct.

    • @dnlgrhm
      @dnlgrhm Před rokem

      I liked the 500x a lot and was tempted. The seat height and the missing frunk and dct were the deciding factors for me.

      I had a ctx700 dct about a decade ago and thought it was a great bike but, for me with lower back issues, the pegs way forward riding position with all my weight on my spine was torture. The dct then, as you would expect, was not nearly as refined as it is now.

    Actually a great motorcycle, it's just right for us slightly older people, let's say, more serious people, that's why I don't understand why Honda didn't put a coolant temperature indicator next to all the electronic options, incredibly stupid of Honda. I was thinking of buying, but then came Covid and every plan failed, I was hoping for the end of the Pandemic and then came the damn war, I live in Europe, now all motorcycles, both new and used, have risen in price by 30 to 40% not the time to buy. So it's been 3 years, and I'm still driving my TMAX, which I wanted to exchange for a more serious vehicle, desire to travel, but now all the planning stops, thanks for the great Moto-Vlog. The red is really a wonderful shade and pictures don't capture it very well. I'm a little intimidated by long trips and if you would care to share details about the CA trip, I would love to hear them. How many hours did you usually ride per day? Did you make reservations with planned stops or just stop when you felt like it? How much stuff did you carry and how? How did you plan your route and did you stick to your plan? ... I hope you have many more happy miles on the 750X!

      @@dnlgrhm Every year on the weekend after Labor day I go with some friends to Suches Georgia to a motorcycle only place called Two Wheels - its a COG (Kawasaki) rally & we ride all throughout the North Georgia, Western North Carolina & Southeastern Tennessee Mountains for 4 days & it is some great riding - then from there I like to go out west as the September weather is so nice & the kids are back in school, the parents back at work & the big RV's are off the road & I try & do this every other year - I sometimes just wing it but that is a very, very rare occasion as I do a ton of research for my trips & I make a daily sheet that I put in the map pocket of my tank bag which I break down in 4 parts - 1) is the turn by turn directions for all highways in my route for that day - 2) is the mileage that day from certain cities to certain cities along with the total mileage for the trip that day & the total mileage for the entire trip up to that day - 3) is a "note" section on any specific places or things I want to go or remember & 4) is my lodging information with the hotel, phone number, directions to it, the person I spoke with & the rate - it also may contain restaurant information about places near the hotel & I get all of this on one page - when I when to Alaska it was a 32 day trip & I had 32 of these pages & yes I pretty much stick to my game plan as my research gives me so much more insight into my trip than what any one else would get (IMO) by just downloading a trip into their GPS & yes I also have a GPS but I don't download trips into it - I spent 8 months of research putting my Alaska trip together & this allows me to find so many Mom & Pop hotels & restaurants & so many little side trips that another person would never know about - along with bits & pieces of history along the way in different areas - Is it going overboard ?? - Yes no doubt it is but it works for me & allows me to know a ton of information about my trip before I ever leave the driveway - on a trip of say 20 days I will take 10 pairs of underwear, socks, 10 t-shirts, among other things & I'll do laundry at a hotel along the way & I have a check list I have made up that helps me pack - as a child growing up & even today to a degree I have learning disabilities & a small speech impediment & I believe that's why I go overboard - I hope this helps in answering your questions & if I could I'd be happy to send you pictures of a trip along with more information if you desire as its no problem to me & I believe in sharing information if it can help someone trip - its not like I discovered fire in the cave & I refuse to share it with anyone :-)

      Thanks for the kind words. There are 6 or so riders in our group and the Villager Deli is a favorite for all of us. We haven't been back much since 2020 because of Covid but 5 of us were there just a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully, nothing much seems changed. I hope you're enjoying Naples.
