Save the Fairy Creek Watershed!

A short documentary amplifying what I witnessed this past long weekend. I hope this film helps spread the word about the importance of the Fairy Creek Watershed. Ancient old growth trees, a watershed connecting waterways and endangered species are all on the chopping block at the Fairy Creek Blockade as RCMP have moved in to arrest peaceful protestors so Teal-Jones can log the watershed.

Nice viewfinder. The power cable from the bottom is a deal breaker, particularly mounted on the shoulder rig. It’s obviously in the way of your hand on the lens barrel. Terrible feature what otherwise is great. Buy a used Gratical HD instead for less than half the cost. With all the same features and a sharp image. Zacuto also needs to update the firmware as it’s dated.
what a gorgeous image out of this lens!
Thanks for this review Maam. As a amature videographer, I recently upgraded to a FS5 , old but very low hrs and in new condition. Main reason for this instead of a FX6 , was the EVF, as I can't use a monitor to compose , focus an just even "get into" a shot! So refreshing to hear and read people say that EVF's are the way to shoot ! When I do upgrade again, I will be checking these out for sure. Chers, Gregg.
😂😂😂 amazing wendy torrance is 🔥🔥🔥
I've been shooting since 1988, a true cinematographer uses a viewfinder. I had the Gratical, but the Kameleon is a fantastic upgrade. You need to immerse yourself into the scene you are shooting, a monitor is distracting. Great review.
In large format camera example Alexa LF Red V Raptor 8k VV this is the best lens.💯👍❤️
This is hands down the shittiest camera I've ever shot video with. Everything about it is just brainless. From the recording button being in an odd position, to the settings being a pain in the arse; everything about shooting video with this camera, is crap!
Are you pulling those zooms by hand or do you have a motor? I’m interested in renting these for an upcoming shoot and want to be able to do slow consistent zooms but keep it fairly run and gun… thanks!
I got those big red X over my videos and can't download them. Does anyone know how to obtain the videos?
hola whats the app you used to control teh red raven?, i cnat conenct to mine 😢
nice video thanks a lot sharing it, are you still using that camera?
😥
Vancouver film industry is the best #hollywoodnorth
Loved this very thorough review. My eyesight is getting bad upclose . Using a monitor shooting live music video I sometimes miss something in the image framing . Once an external microphone . The dead cat was in the framing when I zoomed out to 16mm . I was shooting a music video and it ruined some shots . I’ve been wanting an evf for some more shoulder mounted video. It’s for a Nikon Z9 and I’d like to ditch the Atomos Ninja V for most applications.
Thanks for the nice review! Zacuto now makes a battery plate [Zacuto EVF Battery Pack] that screws into the (free) rosette, so you can power your Kameleon or Gratical EVF for about 2 hours with a Canon LP-E6 battery. Quite a convenient solution for small camera rigs where you may not want to add a large V-Mount battery.
Qué lindos Chihuahuitas :3 good test, I have almost the same tools and I'm so glad. Cheers🎉
Watched this whole video front to end with no intention of getting this camera for the fact in 2024, it's STILL around $1,000 - $4,000. What an awesome camera though! Your voice and truthfulness to the camera is what kept me here. Your review is so down to earth!
Need more content.
👍💯❤️
I don't know how many times I've watched the two Red Raven videos now, and I think I'll watch them both even more often. Thank you very much. These are very helpful videos! I am currently learning the post production workflow and will always have questions, your videos have already helped me a lot.
After using a VX1 camera ($700 AUD) for 2 years and now upgrading to this camera due to a product end of life discount ($2250 AUD), I can say the low light is still at least 10 times better than the VX1. Sure the latest with the 1 inch sensor ($3700) is going to blow this camera out of the water, but this camera today has become an epic mid range camera that is still better than other mid priced cameras with smaller sensors.
JVC has traditionally been a good lower price tag alternative. I used their products in both broadcast ENG/EFP and industrial productions for many years. JVC cameras could put out an image comparable to the more expensive Sonys and Ikegamis popular at the time. With software like Davinci, it's easy to grade the footage to match with footage from higher end cameras. Wouldn't think twice about using this as a solid B camera or even A on some projects.
I think this is the best tutorial and review for this product, on youtube!! Saludos desde Argentina! 💙
Thanks, great review
Cheers, great review.
You quickly showed the aspect ratio settings including a 2.35:1 option, but it wasn't very clear to me this monitor can so called de-squeeze anamorphic footage. I saw a reverse squeeze when you hovered over the 4:3 option, but I don't want to assume the 2.35:1 option does that too or just crops the footage.
Hey, it doesn't have a de-squeeze function. Some cameras have it in the camera and can export it de-squeezed.
@@NiceladyproductionsCanada So when I would select the 2.35:1 aspect ratio on the monitor, it won't change the aspect ratio, like it showed on the 4:3 aspect ratio? (if you look at the video it didn't crop to 4:3, but actually squeezed it). The camera we plan to use will record like traditional film roll, squeezing the footage and the camera operator will use a monitor that de-squeezes, but the focus puller and director will watch on an additional monitor. We were looking to hire this one. What does it do when you select the 2.35:1 aspect ratio?
Nice!! Love the frames :) What’d you think of the Orion Anamorphics? I’m about to work on a shoot ACing that’s using Orions.
Hey, I love the Orions. They create a really nice look. I barely shot with them wide open because in my tests they aren't that sharp. I noticed chromatic aberrations if I was really shooting at something with a really bright sky. Have fun!
You have such a soothing voice and a great tempo when teaching -- lovely to listen to when trying to learn something
Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
Nice Lady, do you still feel the same about this lens? I am thinking of buying on on sale.
Are you on the West Coast? The ocean looks like it.
Hey! Yes I'm based in Canada on the West Coast. Thanks for watching.
Yes, I bought the SLR Magic 2X 50mm a month or more ago. I am not sure that I did not throw away money on this. I am not too Plussed on this so far. I use a Sony A7Rii.
@@jimmoss9584 Is there something in particular you don't like about it?
So helpful!!! Wow! One question: which is the selection button? You mentioned holding it down to select which motor to calibrate, but I don’t see that button in the manual. Thank you!! 😊
Awesome review! I own the 11-20mm already and love it.

Can I use this EVF on Blackmagic 6k?
What’s the dovetail called?
Thank you! That was beautiful. Cheers from Italy
One day we will work together ❤
My gosh, what a beautiful lens! Picking this up with the Ursa 12k!
the sound too low , I full open volume still feel sound low
good info thanks :)

I heard there are issues with the bokeh with this adapter.
Awesome!
I've only done stills with my D800 and soon to be shooting short vids on location. This in depth look at the camera operation for video has helped me get a good grasp of the technique I need to address.
You just saved my life!
How do you desqueeze on the Red Raptor ? i'm on a film set and its being a pain
Thanks for the Video-I have the D800 but I don't know how to record video, on which card can I record the Video >>on the small Card =?? I keep my photos in the big one = Greetings Juan-Spain, Granada
Hi! I am in a country using 25fps. Say I want to shoot at 30 or 60fps for a slow motion effect later in post. Does the camera dial in the shutter speed automatically for me or do I need to do it myself? (usually shutter speed is 2x the frame rate so 25fps = 1/50, 30fps = 1/60 etc). On my Panasonic I have shutter angle which is super useful :)
You showed where to look, what to check, when buying a Camera. Thanks for the slow paced narration. You are awesome! Keep going.
