This is not an intentional channel. After struggling to send videos, even short ones, to family and friends, I found it easier to use CZcams for simpler access. With a little encouragement from @PhotoLukeHawaii and @Madstatter I made most of them public. Feel free to enjoy these raw and imperfect videos. Eventually I will add some Europe videos, and of course, cat videos. Thanks for watching!
Inglewood is solid: Intuit Dome, SoFi Stadium, Kia Forum and Cosm
Intuit Dome will open very soon! It will be the desired home of the LA Clippers. This little drive shows just how close the Intuit Dome will be to both the SoFi Stadium and Kia Forum!
A few screenshots are used to show the upcoming scene of the newest dome. A quick driveby of SoFi, and a view of the inside of the Kia Forum during a concert.
This is all good news for the city of Inglewood, who lost the Lakers (in the Fabulous Forum) to the Staples Center (which is now Crypto.com arena.)
Even the Hollywood Race Track is gone, with it's space now part of residence and the SoFi Stadium.
And recently opened "Cosm" which I didn't photograph. See www.cosm.com/
So these new venues will be a good break for Inglewood, and it has improved the environment also.
At the end of the video, just a short blurb about a possible station connection near the venues to connect them the to the Metro.
The preview photos are thanks to: www.intuitdome.com/
Please go there for more info.

Oh memories...Jasper comes to mind for a sad reason today: the wildfires and destruction to Jasper town. Hopefully the conditions will settle soon and the residents can return. This simple video is to honor those special Canadians and the area they a...

There's no guarantee, but you hope to see whales when on a whale watch. I had even more ambition: I wanted to see the orcas who had been seen in Orange County. The local news had been showing the sightings. Of course, the chances were poor to actually see them, but I wanted to try. I've always wanted to see the killer whales in the wild. Here in the SoCal, that normally doesn't happen. So there...

Let me reminisce about what I call, my "Aunty's private garden." That seemed accurate before when few people knew about this place. Now, thanks mainly through social media, many influencers go there to get their iconic photo opportunity. Well, if you visit, go and enjoy the whole botanical garden. It's large and beautiful. It is nearly bordered by the jagged Kalalau Mountain range and is filled...

Burbank Airport Will Be Unrecognizable! California upgrade!

Burbank Airport, officially the 'Hollywood/Burbank Airport,' is a popular airport because it is much smaller and less complicated than the International LAX. Amazingly this little spot was opened in 1930. It was previously called the 'Bob Hope' Airport. (Sadly, do many know who he was?) Work has started on a 1.1 billion dollar upgrade on this facility. It will be moved to an area on the premise...

Every bridge that we passed had firemen in preparation. Why? We figured it very quickly. It was a coincidence that we drove under them all while driving on the 10 Fwy East. But what a sobering reminder about the danger in their work. Those different fire departments waited the procession for Andrew Pontious, an LA County fireman. He died in the line of duty on June 14, 2024. What an amazing bro...

Mahalo nui for taking us on this holo holo. I need to get back to creating content. Thanks for the inspiration! 🍍😎🤙🌴🥥🌺🌈
Interesting. So many venues so near each other. I didn’t know that any of these places existed, with the exception of the Forum, until I saw your video.
Yes, good for the community there!
Wow, that place is beautiful. Interesting name Maligne. Thank you again C Honda.
There are plenty of stories, some old wives tales and others were historical figures. But it was interesting.
Beautiful! So sad about the wildfires there.
I'm sad about it too. I heard that Canada has 400 fires presently, I hope you are safe.
@@c_honda none are near me. Sometimes the air smells a bit smokey, but it's not bad. Lots of rain here, and some flooding at times. Probably from the fires.
❤
Thank you Judy, this place rivals the grandeur of Yosemite.
❤❤❤
Thanks UFOBob! You are always such a good sport!

I've lived in this area all my life and never heard of this place. Sign says since 1946? I remember a Gar Dunos at that exact location in the 70's so maybe the name changed or they moved there from another location? Will have to give it a try one of these days.
Thank you for watching, and ask them if they worked under the Gar Dunos' name. By the way, there still is a Gar Dunos in Montebello on Beverly Blvd.
What happened to Manny's El Locos ?
Good question. All the Manny's I knew are gone. A few of the places became "Chano's" which seemed to have similar Mexican food. I remember the Manny's in Monterey Park which was super busy at lunch (before then it was an A and W root beer car park.
Where in ELA ?
4504 Floral Dr, Los Angeles 90022 In the video I have a couple of maps showing where the place is. Just a couple streets south is Cesar Chavez Ave. They are right near the onramp to the 710 Fwy heading north, and diagonal to the CHP office.
LA has changed from what was a BEAUTIFUL CITY in the 70's to nothing but trashy & GHETTO!!!! Its actually embarrassing. I grew up there in the late 60's & 70's !!! What a ashame.
Some suburbs are still okay, but the homeless situation has really increased. Especially downtown where they put up their tents and authorities later come and take them down.
Los 5 Puntos is BETTER!!!
Tell me about the place?
it's lovely there! So nice to see it.
Thanks Penel, you are a kind support here. And it was a nice day and the ocean and beach were very lovely.
The Old Gardunos spot.
Hey, I think you are right! But it was a long time ago.
For my money, it’s King taco and Lupe’s burrito. Those are the true East LA icons.
I agree with King Taco, but I've only been to a Lupe's in Alhambra, is it the same?
@@c_honda no when you get to Lupe‘s ask for the chili Colorado burrito and the chili Verde they’re both beef the bomb take limes with you. They don’t have limes.
@@petermitlo1551 gracias! Okay, I found it on google, it's pretty close to King Taco on 3rd St. But when I looked at the menu, there's no mention of chili colorado, but they do mention chili verde
They called the burritos, red or green one chili Verde and one is chili Colorado
No, not the Lupe’s in Alhambra East LA third Street where the King tacos at up the street on the same side
Watching your video makes me nostalgic and now I want to visit there again.
You are not that far away. It's a distance for me but I want to return there.
Thatʻs a Hahd Shot, hehehe. Thank you C Honda.
You got it! For that favorite song I got permission from Kenny Roberts also! Thanks for always supporting my videos, I know I don't bat a 1000!
That voice is ridiculous 🫤
Besides the voice, how was the video? I don't do much voiceovers if I can help it. Thanks for watching!
Every time I drive by there it looks like the place is closed. I need to go by again and try them burritos.
They are elderly, maybe the best thing is to call ahead and make sure they are there. The couple are the ones that run the place. I always call in my orders now so I can easily pick them up. And, thanks for watching!
Sorry but I lived 2 blocks from there for 10 years and tried this place multiple times out of laziness since it was so close, but it was always bad. The lady also has a bad attitude if you mention anything wrong with the food (witnessed her snap at a customer who said the food was cold and stale). That was the last time I ever went. Most of the time the restaurant looked abandoned and I understood why after every visit. Wouldn't recommend.
Thanks for your review.
O'kr** another place being taken over by the opala tourist. Wish they would just stop coming.
My man could’ve hooked it up just a tiny bit more on the aroz y frijoles for the tacos tho
Well, it's fair of you to give your opinion, let's others know...
omg, it used to be empty, my dad literally taught me how to drive on those roads. I don't live there anymore, but my parents still do, and the last time I went for a visit a couple years ago, it was SO crowded, and I noticed The Bus changed its route so that it goes closer by now
Yes, times have changed. We haven't been there since before the pandemic. I valued it's quiet nature, but I see from social media that it's a "hot" place.
On Floral Dr. and Ford Blvd... Next to the 710 nb Fwy...😎👍
Right on!
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 , AWESOME

UFOBob! Aloha! Thanks for being so supportive. And I think they wanted to check out our meals at the park😅
Indeed, beautiful. Thank you C.
Have you ever visited here? It's a nice respite from the busier touristy places. And it's not too hard to walk around at either. Thanks for always being supportive!

beautiful place.
It really is, and it's so easy to visit, especially if you are on the North Shore. We took it for granted for so long. Thanks for watching Penel!
Good luck with the illegal street vendors, old business don't have a chance.
I do see some street vendors now, a lot came up during the pandemic I think. I leave it up to them as they are trying to make a living too.
Have not tried Tip Top Cafe.. its a true Hole in the wall out of the way places.. may give that a try next time I visit Kauai.. but the day after I get to Kauai the next morning I always hit Kountry Kithen.. so far dat place is No Ka Oi
Thanks for your opinion. We enjoyed KK, it just seems crowded a lot. Tip Top is more hole in the wall, but I like that Kauai flavor. i.e. goteborg sausage.
You should have put the address and cross streets so people will know where it's located.
Thank you yes. I did put the address on the map in the video, I don't know if I put it in the description.
Beautiful, especially the color of the lake.

Its like uman̈as in el monte or Richards in Bassett. And snap e tacos in LA Puente ca.
Thank you for the comparisons! This can open our eyes to some more places in LA County which are worth checking out. You have an assortment of them across that area. Helpful, thank you!
@c_honda I love food lol, try titos market in el monte, great Argentinian empanadas.
@@vicchavez6570 thank you for sharing! For myself and others benefit.
Always frustrates me when they don’t have a soda fountain. I want a coke with my food. I don’t want to pay crazy prices for a can.
I don't even remember what they have, but if you want the "mexican" coke, I think they had it in their refrigerator, but it was the glass bottle version.
@@c_honda No, it’s just, if I go there for a meal, I want a coke with that meal. They have a fridge and could likely sell me a can or bottle. However, If I pay a stupid price for a can or bottle, it’s unpleasant. If I then have to worry about only having this one little can or bottle, it’s unpleasant. If I want more and have to decide if I’ll pay a stupid price for more or do without, it’s unpleasant. If they had a fountain and I could just pay them, say $2 for a soda knowing I could fill it up as many times as necessary, much more pleasant experience.
@@hemaccabe4292 , got it. Yeah, this is a tiny business, it may not be the place for you, but there’s lots of bigger restaurants in the area!

Oh Mr UFOBob, how are you doing? I hope the weather is not too tough for you. The warmer weather is helping you, maybe yourself and the home issue?
Thank you for your concern. Though the weather has warmed up a bit, it’s not too bad so far. Overall I am feeling well, however, I am fighting the flu at the moment, and that has taken some of the wind out of my sails. But I expect to recover in soon, so nothing to be concerned about.
@@UFOBobTV glad to hear that.
Will have to stop by next time im in L.A
Thanks for watching, please have an open mind, it's more on the 'home style' Mex food.
I miss going to LA for a few days to go to the Dodger games and enjoying places like this. I no longer go to LA because it is now too dangerous to enjoy.
I understand what you mean, there are some areas I would not go, especially in the night. Downtown has really increased in homelessness, which is sad, for them and us. In that way, there is some uncertainty when you walk by, most are harmless, but others have some real mental problems. However, we have lots of places that we still enjoy. I need to take my chances and go to the East LA King Taco😎!
@c_honda LA is not dangerous. The homelessness issue has improved over the last year as well. Only very small areas are sketchy. Places like Skid Row. East LA is fine, and so is the vast majority of the city, which is 500 square miles.
@mrxman581 that is not what my family says who still live and work in the area.
@@user-rp9om3pr6g It depends on where and when you go. East LA is not dirty like West LA. I'm not extremely familiar with LA, but if you go east of the 6th Street bridge, which turns into Whittier Blvd. It is much cleaner than west of the 6th Street bridge, which is very dirty. The difference is literally like night and day. Every inch of West LA is sliced up into gang territories. I'm sure East LA is as well, but it's so much cleaner and just more calm. Whittier Blvd. Looks nice at night.
It's been years 40 years since I've been here 😮
It may look a little different, but the food is the same: delicious! thanks for watching!
@c_honda I remember those potatoes! Ever since moving to Nevada 38 yrs ago rarely get that way anymore.
@@scottrunnels3958 they are still so good, crispy and cheesy on the outside, softer mashed inside with flavors I don’t know what they are 😆
My favorite store! Mahalo!🤙🏼
Thanks for watching, yes we also enjoy this store. Nowadays, the 'upscale' ones have lots of food available, both on hand or to order. I didn't cover that part at all.
Such a well done and informative video! My rule of thumb is to try only buy Hawaiian made (sometimes hard to find and always more expensive but worth it!) And I like hour thought about “useful”!!
I'm glad you mentioned that! That is a very good idea, I find it hard to find 'Hawaii made' items though, I suppose some of the smaller stores, craft fairs or maybe at the swap meet. I agree that buying local is good.
I use my Hawaii luggage tag as a keychain now. And also still have a little good luck statue made of plaster that I got for myself.
That's the benefit of getting non perishable gifts, you can keep them and enjoy the memories. Hey thanks Penel for watching my silly videos!
I live for these neighborhood places. Thanx.
