Is 5'5 inches tall enough to ride this Kepler electric bike?

No way this bike can go almost 40MPH your speed odometer is off.

The step through does not make it much easier to get on. The battery is so large that lowering the cross bar doesn’t provide much more space. I recommend to people getting a drop post particularly with a bike this tall. I’m 6 feet and with seat raised to good pedaling height I can barely touch the ground. My only other suggestion is to not raise the maximum speed setting higher that you’ll go in real life. It preserves battery life and keeps the pas levels reasonable. Mine is set to peak at 1240 watts and is still sufficient to climb steep hills at good speed. Final note: if you can keep the pas at 1 or 2 while pedaling it significantly improves battery usage.

All of those things to adjust and set just to ride a bike! What a shame!

IDK if you already do have them, since you look well equipped for riding in traffic, but I always suggest(after being hit multiple times, once breaking 7 bones which even 5 years later my hip is in rough shape)is get good bright strobe LEDs front, back and sides. They REALLY make a difference. I talk to ppl I know who see me out for rides that tell me they see me from crazy far away compared to others. I got basically 2 cheaper kits(not the cheapest though). A kit that has front and back lights that have a few diff colors and can strobe and diff speeds and I got another kit that are blinking LED spoke reflectors. So dual purpose. During the day I have them on high and at night the lowest brightness works just fine along with my headlight and break light. It could save your life for about 50 USD for both if you hunt around.

Will the police give you a ticket for "eating" the red light in a bicycle? (Assuming that you take the precautions before crossing the road or intersection.)

Ariel Rider has cornered the market on making the ugliest bikes possible. Bike has great power though.

I have a very similar commute and have been looking to upgrade my ebike. I'm currently on the walmart GoTrax Alpha which has way less power than the kepler to the point where some hills the motor doesn't even help anymore. After watching this I can't wait to be able to order one for myself.

Nice review. About your pedal assist, you can change the number of assists up to 9 different levels on that bike. I own a Ride One Up 700 and I changed mine to 9 assists. Also on mine you're able to change the power levels on each assist. I don't know if that can be done on yours but if you can, once you get it the way you want it you won't have to keep changing it. There is a definite learning curve with these bikes. I don't go very fast too often on mine, but I got mine set up so good that I can barely tell the difference between gears and the shifting is so smooth that I can barely feel the shift. I'm retired and have knee problems and I wish I would have bought a step through also. These bikes are big and I have a rough time swinging my leg over to get on. I've been thinking of selling mine and have been looking at the Ariel Rider Kepler's step threw because they have more power. Not that I need the extra power I just want it. The price is right also. The way I ride I get over 70 miles on one charge. My battery is only 14 amp-hours. The faster you go the fewer miles you'll get on a charge no matter how you set it up. There are tricks to riding these bikes to maximize your distance. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun riding a bike. I hope this helps you with the assists. Either way happy riding.

I get a tiny bit of fluttering on occasion with the rear brake caliper. Not always. And the complaint of tire noise? My tires are not noisy at all. It's that motor cranking out power that does most of the whine. Under 25 mph the whole system is relatively quiet. At least mine is.

I'm getting about 18 miles before battery leaves 100% when using PAS 1 in top speed setting 40 mph. That's with 9 levels and 1 being 17mph. After going to 90% or so battery, it will drop 1-2% every mile when remaining in PAS 1 at 17mph. 23 miles or so I'm at that 90%..33 miles can be about 70% 45 miles in that 50% range. That's not touching the throttle and only 17mph top speed. Level ground . 50% at 40 plus miles so far.

I'm doing 17 mph in PAS1 with it set for 9 PAS levels at 63 kph top speed.

Thanks for your review, I have a low bar black with blue on order so I am checking out these reviews to see how folks like yourself would like to upgrade so like you and others have said about the seat so I have a Cloud 9 seat here waiting, next I want better lighting to go with the Xnito Logan helmet with LEDs & Arclight pedals, a good head and tail light & turn signal as you had mentioned I'm not sure if I would have add a 52 volt to 12 - 13.6 volt step down unit or cannibalise some Milwaukee battery gun units to power the lights? not sure how many watts/amps the 12 volt circuit standard can handle. One last thing I just watch a "Randy Rides" video were he swaps out the stock tires tires for Veetireco Speedsters on his and he does a decibels before and after, A Lot Quieter so that's on my list too

I have just put 200 miles on my new Kepler. All of my rides have been in the hilly terrain, here in the Gold Country (foothills) of California. I rarely use my throttle and constantly pedal for all of the rides. I love the workout, along with the pedal-assist. My conclusion, for maximum distance on a full battery charge, in hilly terrain, with power level 2 and 3, is roughly 40 miles.

if the pedal assist 1 is going up to 20 miles an hour.. then you must of set the top speed at 99km/h , you should only need to set it at 55km/hour , the reason its doing 20 miles per hour on assist 1 is because it is dividing up the amount per hour on each pedal assist based on the top speed you have set . 55km/hour is 34miles per hour, which should be plenty. Then you will now start to see that pedal assist one is going to be much less then 20 miles per hour :)

Definitely the best e bike for the price & comes with better components too, I want one, The Junker just showed us why people que up and have to wait a month on back order for one

The clicking from the brakes I heard is from the rotor being out of round I heard. I heard a guy say they sent him a new one
