Super cool content! Just a couple weekends ago I mountain biked over Black Bear into Telluride for the first time and was MIND BLOWN. Epic views, tons of cool rigs to drool over, and plenty of walking was done... Question for you - when you come to CO to run these trails do you trailer your rigs (Chevy and JK) or just drive them? Also, why not just live in CO, you know so much of its history!

Thank goodness for a beautiful tour and scenery. I rode my bike across the country in ‘76 and went through Telluride, Ouray for July 4th parade, over Independence Pass to Leadville from Aspen. Loved the scenery then! Did not go off-road as my goal was to get to the other side of the continent and I had someone to meet in Breckinridge. I’d love to Mt. Bike there, but the altitude would probably make it soooo much work. Nice to do it your way! Found you from your breakdown on Casey’s recovery video. Glad I did! Thanks for your gourmet and clean eating habits as well! Gives people a better goal to be! Again, thanks for a beautiful and lovely attitude video!!

I've always wondered what Lake City looked like since reading Peter Jenkins book A Walk Across America and A Walk West like 3 or 4 times 40 years ago. Great books where a hippie walked from Greenwich Village to New Orleans to the Oregon coast. And stayed in LC awhile. Really cool.

I dreamed of going on trails like those. I started building my ZJ then got hurt at work. I never got to finish my Jeep and now it sits in the yard. I can not afford to finish it now as I am on a limited income and can not physically work on it anymore. It is why I enjoy watching you all and some of the other youtubers. You take us all to places many of us will never see in person.

That is beautiful country. I remembered going deer and elk hunting in a area above wolf creek pass in the late 70's early 80's. Above the continental divide and above the timber line. There was about ten families on the trip. One of our hunting buddies went over a gravel road being too stupid after some cold snacks and down the canyon 75'. Thank god that our other hunter buddy wasn't with him as the A post was caved in on the passenger side. He wouldn't have survived. All survived but driver was very sore with rib injuries. A month later he had to fly back to Colorado from southern California to make arrangements to get his Chevy 454 camper special truck out of the canyon and to a repair shop. Lessons learned. BTW his wife didn't talk to him for the ten days we were there. John from Hayden Idaho. Formally from southern California.

Just a thought. When I remove and install fluid filled tractor tires I use a large prybar and slightly off the floor like you did. But the bar helps a lot. That way you have more leverage and less man handling.

Black bear is not part of the alpine loop. Great video! Really enjoyed it....... My first time on BB was in 2017. Did it again in 2018 and always thought it was fairly easy. Now, I just did it again in July 2024 and was really shocked how much more intimidating that section before the steps with all the off camber stuff has become. Pucker factor of 10! Also thought that first switchback was much tighter than before but I was driving a Gladiator (has nearly a full size truck wheelbase lol)....... Actually thought every trail was rougher and more rutted out than years past..... I figured it was from the explosion in SXS use up there.

That Mahindra is basically a 1987 Suzuki Samurai stock. I've still got a couple, and I'll stick with them for the price, but they are pretty cool, price wise they're really expensive.

We have a trail in fort bragg ca that goes from fort bragg to a town called willits it’s Sherwood rd all red clay fun drive and very pretty scenery it’s about 1 hr to 2 hrs

I don’t climb rocks but have done a lot of 4 wheeling in places that I probably shouldn’t have been. I did learn one thing, don’t go anywhere by myself. A lot of people think, hey I’ve got 4 wheel drive, I can go anywhere. That mentality will get your ass in trouble in a hurry. I haven’t watched your videos before but I love Casey, may catch some more of yours in the future.

The color of the lake is determined by glacier flour. or glacial milk. Rock flour is super fine ground over and over by ice so it is suspended in the the water much longer. The brighter the blue the more copper in the rocks. When sunlight hits the water, these particles absorb the shortest wavelengths: the purples and indigos. Meanwhile, the water absorbs the longer wavelength reds, oranges, and yellows. That leaves mainly blues and greens to get scattered back to our eyes.
