Fitting a Clutch Cable to a Citroen Saxo VTR!
Was this a Sisley? I had two so where was the inclinometer on top of the cash and the factory fit roof rack?
It’s a genuine UK Sisley - inclinometer was included in the sale but not fitted (dash was replaced due to breakage but new one had no holes so I hadn’t fitted it at this point) If you had a twin sunny you didn’t get a roof rack for obvious reasons, most people would like to open the roof!
1997 scoda felicia Mpi Lx my first car and my lovely car, miss her 😢😢
The seats are worth much more, than all of the shit together...
All long since sold! The seats are worth good money, as are Irmscher wheels! The wheels and seats were the cream of the crop
This was won on a restroshite auction, clearly the winner didnt gel with it
Nice! Looks like a good example. And it has aircon! Hope it's going well for you.
I want to share an idea with you. Would you like to convert the WARTBURG engine to an injector? (yes, this can be done)
Nice. I drive a Daihatsu Copen 1.3, and a Piaggio Porter diesel truck, (Hijet)a
oooh miss hubnut will love that!
I actually worked for a Daihatsu dealer in the late 90's so have driven plenty of these along with other Daihatsu's of that era. So I can say with absolute confidence that there is definitely something amiss if it feels REALLY slow. The brochure at the time stated 42bhp (obviously not very much), but it only weighs around 640kg. Motorway travel is of course not it's forte (though it will actually do about 84mph flat out), but it should feel plenty nippy enough around town and on narrow country roads. You mentioned it feeling slow next to a 126. Well that has a kerb weight of around 600kg if air-cooled, a little more if a later water-cooled version (bis) and will have around 26bhp at most. So the Cuore has a power to weight ratio roughly 50% more than the 126. Couple of other points. Re the Mira, for 1990 onwards, kei cars were 660cc (and 64bhp) max. Re the wheelbase, it isn't actually that short for such a small car thanks to the kei car norm of pushing the wheels right out to the extremities to maximise interior space. For comparison, the Fiat Seicento is 25mm longer overall but its wheelbase is 100mm less (it also weighs about 100kg more) The Cuore is a fantastic little car, but for quirkiness the Daihatsu Move of the same era has it beaten hands down (just the thing if you feel the need to wear a top hat while driving)
👌✌️👍
Cute little car. Originally registered in Shropshire. Any idea of the supplying dealership ?
I love the whole Kei car scene, the Japanese are amazing when it comes to packing a lot into a small box.
Congratulations! Let me know if you might like to feature in my owner stories series 👍😎 This is where things properly started for me (as an 8 year old in my parents UR quattro 😆)
Hello guys , We had a Perodua dealer in our town and I still see some Kelisa's around regularly and sometimes for sales like on FB marketplace very cheap .
Very rare. There used to be loads of these Mira on Australian roads.
What sort of money would you be looking at ?
Welcome to drop me a message on instagram, open to an offer! @welshretrogirl 🙂
It smell a rat😂 interior
A Wartburg on a “P” plate must be one of the very last ones registered in the U.K.! Well done for saving it!
Definitely! I think it is said that all 1975s are just left over 74 stock anyway so this is likely a 74 at heart!
I've always wanted a Cinquecento but I am far too fat for either the cinq or sei 😂
Have you ever tried!? I don't find them cramped at all to be fair but I'm roughly 6ft and not very large so hard to test!
@@OGCarsI have the opposite problem, I am 5 10 but fat, a matiz was a tight fit with a passenger. 😂😭
Ive just scrolled through the channel im pretty sure we havd the exact same taste, oddballs and unloveables. Gah i would kill for half the cars in these videos 😭
Love it! This is the proper unexceptional vibe, you're in the right crowd! :D
I remember driving near mablethorpe and spotting one years ago, i wanted to stop and leave a note but never found it again 😭
Can there be many UK Wartburgs that you haven’t owned? You must know them all by now!!
There's 2 RHD estates on the Facebook group for sale and 2 other RHD estate I know of that I haven't owned, and maybe 1 or 2 RHD saloons..! It would be nice to know more about some of their whereabouts! The IFA Club is good although there isn't a very public register for how many RHDs survive in the UK, with many gone overseas it's hard to count up what is left as well!
Always rather !liked these cars, especially the estate.
I always wanted the Tourist to be fair, had a few but all basket cases - they're a couple RHD Tourists for sale now but it really is the wrong time with all these other projects in my collection!
I’ve got 2 seicento abarths a broom yellow and a pre face lift one in the gray with the orange tirm peaces there such a grate motor Ed is the man for parts in south wales always down to help 😎
Great choice! Have I seen your grey one at south Wales shows recently? Ed is a good lad! 😁
@@OGCars more than likely I try to get to most shows in it and there not many in that colour still knocking about on the roads
Good to hear your voice again. ❤
Thanks for watching as always!
The drums breaks were not-very good even on my dads new 1975 orange Wartburg you at to stand on the peddle he got the orange one so you could been seen on the road
I would certainly prefer the front discs as on the later ones! That said I've not had any problems stopping in my 74 Knight yet..!
Another Wartburg, even if you've had it before?! I can't say I blame you - there's just something about these old DDR cars.
Couldn't say no at the time! Fair play to Simon for holding it for me as I probably paid for this almost a year ago to have it back!
@@OGCarsHow much pounds cost the Wartburg Knight?🤔
It will be great to see that restored to original condition. I like the orange, very 1976. Skoda did the S100/110 in a very similar colour.
To Grumpy Glyn I know! A friend had a 110SR in that colour! Skoda were efficient in seeing that model had a good suzed boot. Many makers of rear engined cars didn't bother about that!
@@nygelmiller5293 They did. Two in fact. A useful amount of space behind the rear seats. My Mother had a white S110.
A great colour I reckon! I do prefer the blue and I am a massive fan of the earlier green but this is close behind those for me! I think I've seen one of those Skodas in that colour too!
I have an original Citroen AX GTI, with the 1.4 multipoint injection motor. The engine have 95hp on 800kg... with´in 9sec i drive 62mph. It´s a light weight car and so much fun to drive.
Great choice! Lightweight, great chassis and very nimble!
I’m glad to see one saved. I had a yellow S reg Seicento sporting about 20 years ago and really enjoyed it
S reg I assume would be the earlier style too! I do prefer the style of the earlier ones personally, that said the later ones do have MPI! Glad you enjoyed yours!
The aluminium gear lever surround and handbrake cover were only on the Michael Schumacher edition. They may have been options in the accessory brochure for other models, however didn't come as standard.
Good to know, I knew somebody would know! The only other Sei I had was an Active Sport so no such fancy surrounds (albeit did have Sporting alloys and seats from standard with an MPI engine)
I used to own a 1.1 2004 Seicento, it was amazing, always started, it was fun to drive, low fuel consumption and the cost of the parts for this car are next to nothing
Absolutely, it makes a perfect daily or all round good fun and easy to live with retro now!
Fun little car. I have 1.1 2002.
The 1.1 fire is a great engine! Hope you're enjoying your one!
Cute car, and worth saving. Please do the wing dent - it's like a big zit on a baby's face !
Definitely! I'll see what I can do about the wing dent, that said it has a dent on the driver's door and o/s/r of the bootlid so I assume they are all telling a story...
Did you check the head to make sure it's not warped?
Yes :)
That front wing is screaming for that dent to be pulled.
I usually get told off for cosmetics before mechanicals and now I've done it the other way around I get this instead! ;)
Nice car, but the EU Rallye is bonkers, except the German version that was a very down tuned 1.9.
The European Rallye would have been fun, but alas, we live with what we've got!
Что у неё с рулём-это брак!!!😅
Right is right
Thank you for saving it! 😍 Interior looks really good!
It’s lush inside! Just sold to a happy home now as well!
You failed to state how much the SAAB is up for sale for, checked all your Insta and FB and can't find any mention.
It’s on my insta story right now, but it’s listed on marketplace (Facebook) if you search Saab 9-3 in the Cardiff area!
And now sold!
had a v6 saab 9-3,took it in for a possible part ex for a bmw 335i,he test drived my saab while i was in the passenger seat and basically thrashed it, i went home in the saab and didnt think to part it again.jeremy clarkson video will explain why saabs are so good, and why
I hear the v6 is great fun in these too!
So glad that another has been saved. Saab was another victim of large manufacturers not understanding the nature of the company that they bought, then walking away when they broke it. I still hope tha this , and other great companies, may build cars again. Sadly I think that it is unlikely.
It is a real shame it all went under! As you say I think it's unlikely there will be a comeback now, but I'll still silently hope they do something else again one day... I think the name was sold around so who knows, someone might use it one day, MG came back! Mind you I'm not sure I've liked any of the new MGs...!
@@OGCars Funnily enough I have had a MG6 1.8T for the last 11 years. It really has been a great car, totally reliable and nothing has dropped off. It is just like a ZT to drive, but with a more modern twist. It might be heresy , but it is probably better built than my previous ZT.
All remaining Saabs need to be saved now. These legendary models are only going to get rarer sadly.
They do seem hard to find now! Not many left around but really quite decent cars and well worth using!
Those IFA cars! Now that's my kind of classic car gathering - especially that Trabant 1.1 saloon as I'd really like one of those one day!
Makes you wonder what would've happened had Yugoslavia not collapsed into civil war - would the Florida/Sana have improved the reputation of Zastava and gained them a larger market share in the UK if they had managed to get the quality sorted? Weirdly, I have had a longtime fascination for the Yugo in the shape of the 45/55/65 as I remember those pottering about when I was a child.
It's a good question that unfortunately we'll never have the answer to! It's strange isn't it, they could've gone the way of the Favorit and really become quite popular or more like the Samara that all but disappeared... as it did go it was the way of the Samara but not of the company's choice of course!
Oh, that Maestro - now that brings back a few memories of being given a lift in a 2.0D version. Refined, it was not! Still, it certainly had character - and it's a great thing to see to see one of Austin-Rover's finest in regular use! I hope that Wartburg gets running again - there's just something about old East German cars, and it is nice to see how enthusiastic your friend is about it!
Sam has had it running and I've just got him some new suspension bits so hopefully it can see the road again soon! The 1.6 petrol Maestro was great to be fair and our friend had many happy memories in it. It's with a nice chap in Scotland working for a filming company now so went to a good home too! I've heard the 2.0D you mention was a great engine!
@@OGCars The 2.0D was tough as old boots, but noisy. Think Massey-Ferguson tractor levels of noise 😁
Seeing the Wartburg powering along deserted roads reminds me of an ill-fated trip to Fort William over ten years back to collect a rather shabby Trabant. My father and I went out there, and I had my first-ever experience of driving a left-hand drive car for the eighty-odd miles back to my home town. Surprised a busload of Germans in the middle of nowhere - they were all pointing and waving as a piece of their past rattled by! The thing then proceeded to fall to bits when we got it home... Can't win 'em all!
Did you get the Trabi back up together again? Be interesting to know where it ended up!
@@OGCars Sadly not - life got in the way, and the rather forlorn Trabi was carted away about a year after I got it.
What a super old thing - had I been alive and of age to drive in the 1970's I do believe I would have had a real hankering for a Wartburg Knight. That two-stroke engine note is addictive, not as raucous as a Trabi's (maybe due to being water-cooled, I dunno - I've had a Trabant in the past) and I like the Wartburg a lot! I wonder how many of those were sold new in the UK? On to Part Two!
Admittedly I don't know how many they sold over here! They were never super popular, but considering the low low cost and what you got for your money I certainly think the deal was worth a look in. Especially the estate!
I genuinely hope to see this car running and driving before too much longer as I have a large soft spot for it after its time on my channel, best of luck! Hope to catch you at a future event!
Thank you once again sir! Catch you at another show soon! I haven't chance for a look in on the Sana yet with other projects ongoing but it will definitely be a fun one to get stuck into at some point!
Wrong wheels 3rfor that year of MG metro. Those wheels are off of an MG Metro Turbo model,, and the side decals are from a pre 1985 MG Metro.. Are you sure it's a genuine MG metro? Check the Engine and chassis number both match.
Genuine MG Metro = yes Correct wheels and stickers = no I bought a set of octagons for it but sold the car before I bothered changing anything up, was a fun car though
