BMW F-Series Body Module (FEM / BDC Module) Remove + Reprogram replacement immo & keys, Refit & Test
Today we have a BMW 1 series (F21) with a faulty electric window - This has been correctly diagnosed by another garage who have sourced a replacement secondhand FEM module and they brought the vehicle to us to program & code the donor unit to their vehicle - The FEM module is the central hub of the immobiliser system on these vehicles so they cannot simply be swapped from one car to another without specialist programming tools & knowledge. Here we show how to remove & refit a FEM module and the steps needed to program a replacement unit.
If you need a FEM / BDC module programming to a BMW vehicle then check us out here:

    Hi, great video. I have same problem and flashcode is 16. I checked grounds under air filter and under battery and fuses and do no see anything suspicious. I bought another IC cluster on eBay, without keys unfortunately. When I connected that second IC cluster then I have flashcode 15 (incorrect keys). What is your professional opinion. As second cluster in not showing code 16 but 15, then it means that there is connection with ECU and all wiring is fine and definitely problem is in the first/original cluster? Or maybe code 15 has highest priority and is reported before error 16, so conclusion cannot be made? I will appreciate your opinion.

    • @JC-ECUConnection
      @JC-ECUConnection Před 8 dny

      Flash code 16 is comms between the cluster & PCM, this can be verified by a diagnostic scan to double check if it’s the PCM that is not working / getting power, then move onto wiring checks (12v power & ground particularly) - don’t waste time with plugging in another cluster, get the PCM working first..

      When we repair the FRM3 modules there is usually no further problems such as you are having, I can only assume the company / person you sent the FRM to doesn’t do the same as us by recovering the corrupt data & they have flashed a different file onto your FRM, it’s hard to say without having the FRM ourselves to check, if this is the case then hopefully they kept your ‘Dump file’ - we may possibly be able to still recover the data, if not then you may be able to re-code & update software on your FRM, for more details on what we can do to help please contact us via our website: www.ecuconnection.co.uk

      @@julienstievenart1376 This fault could be a few things, firstly double check all fuses, then perform wiring tests between the PCM & Cluster, if all checks out ok then it could be corrupt data in the PCM, if possible reflash the PCM with known good files from an identical part number PCM, if you don’t have the tools to do that then substitute the PCM with another from a donor vehicle (They should be pretty cheap on EBay etc) & then perform the synchronising again with Forscan..

I replaced 2 other new chips but it still doesn't work. And I replaced with Atmel A2C00024016 of SRS HONDA CRV, it working. So, Does it need to program this ? or is just a power supply processor ? Hi & thanks for watching, I’m not sure what you are referring to? We are showing here our solution to a customers vehicle which a company had lost their BSI, so a quick easy fix for us is to switch the immobiliser off from the ECU, adapt the VIN in BSI & set BSI mileage to zero so it doesn’t affect the dash & program new remote keys to the BSI so the remote central locking works, not every step was recorded as many of our services are not for public viewing, we are a business & obviously can’t give all of our secret techniques away! There was only 1 difference the kit came from a car with a knee airbag and this car doesn't have one. With the full kit fitted the airbag light was on and only fault was knee airbag. With the original airbag module fitted no faults but flashing mileage and wouldn't proxi align. It's been running fine this way for some time now it needs fixing before we sell it on again.
