Wow, my experience has been the opposite. I’ve been running one in my Avid for over 5 years now and I would never go back to the heavy lead acid. In fact I am adding a second one to backup the EFI IM INSTALLING on my 912. Around seven lbs compared to 32 lbs for a dual lead setup.Customer service, haven’t needed any so, more than that I can’t say.

Is that your RV-8? Did you build it yourself? Does the smoke kit add significant weight or affect CG? I'm looking at taking the plunge that's why the questions.

I had one in my rv3 and it sucked total junk no costumer service

I wonder why anyone would put an airspeed indicator on a plane in "mph". It just seems silly. I think a big part of it is that the numbers are higher and it makes the plane sound faster.

I just got a pair myself. I absolutely love the "no wires". Not quite as comfy and noise cancelling as my Zulu 3's but, my plane isn't noisy. They work great!

3 weeks ago I had the honor to get on a Vans rv8 with a pilot friend of mine. First time in my life I would ever fly in a small airplane. He did a lot of aerobatics and I ended up so sick and dizzy but when we touched down and while he was trying to help me recover, I told him that was the best day of my life. I own a restaurant bar in AZ and the day after my experience with that particular airplane I started my private pilot lessons. That ride has changed my life and possibly my career. Nothing compares to the feeling of feeling free. Literally nothing.

Do you have to have your tail stagger endorsement before the transition training on an RV7? Or can you earn it as part of the transition? How long does the transition training usually take?

Just came across this today. Such an emotional shot with all the aircraft in formation with smoke on coming across mid-field. I’m not sure why, but maybe it’s the understanding of what you all went thru to make that happen, great work!!
