I'm actually happy you didn't talk about Five nights at freddys. The flim isn't bad, but it just tried a little too hard to be like all the other flims from the studio that did it. Like it's supposed to be a thiller for families and it does that perfectly. But it's little too far from it's source material, like I understand it a LENGTHY lore, but it's just far enough that flim is sort of it's own thing at this point.

Steven’s trauma fueled anxiety of being abandoned in future is scarily accurate to how it actually is, at least how it is for me. You can get told time and time again that your friends are always gonna be there for you, but the second you mess up once no matter how big or small it feels like the world is ending and you’re gonna be alone again. That anxiety can also make you act erratically or out of character, doing things that end up causing problems when the goal was to help. I heavily related to Steven in future because of that, for me it’s a show that made me and my issues feel acknowledged and helped me feel better somewhat about how I am.

I feel like the weirdness of the numbers in seasons 2-4 (the broken number, the absurd number of simon, and the relative quickness of the number change for the boys in the end) was meant to lead into a broader consideration that the train is in some ways just bullshit arbitrary suffering. The way inequality of denizens is not resolved fully, the way Amelia still has reservations about denizens, the way One was so cold and almost villainous in season 4. It was all building up this systemic critique that was just cut short. As far as simon's number goes he's basically just irredeemable because he's fallen into a severely supremacist worldview and is trying to build his own little fascist cult. It still shouldn't have been that high but again the numbers are arbitrary

I'm 100% certain the Bravestarr two parter is a backdoor pilot to this show. Bravestarr doesn't even show up until halfway through the first episode. Robo-Watson is replaced by an alien named Whhitson, and Lestrade is actually split into two lady: one a descendant of Mycroft Holmes and the other actual Lestrade. And Moriarty is also a clone and Sherlock has electrical powers...

I know behind the scene writing on the show had some stuff about the kingdom having come out of a war and the kingdom, though having won, not being recovered financially. And why the kids worked in the castle were parents either dead, working far away due to war recovery, or because they needed work to send money to their families. Also I remember at some point dragon a a baby had been kept as a pet on a ship and used in a circus before escaping and never finding his parents again once getting home. I think he actually mentions it breifly in the episode about the boar. Production costs prevented a lot of stuff and is likely the reason for lack of characters despte the war idea. It would be awesome to see it come back with more work being able to be put into it.

Yessssss this was one of my hyperfixations growing up!! Some fun facts not mentioned in this video: -The kingdom is named Kippernium (I think it gets mentioned in 1 episode?), which is located somewhere in what will eventually be England. -The castle staff is that small bc the kingdom is tiny & rather broke, so the royal family doesn’t have the money for a lot of servants. -Martin did a TON of Q&As on the show’s website that gave more info about the setting & every single characters’ backstory. I doubt the site is still up, but maybe it can be accessed w/the Wayback Archive? -The Queen, while quiet & demure in public, is a huge supporter of Jane. She’s a large part of why the king agreed to make Jane a knight’s apprentice. (We stan a literal queen 👑) -Martin said that he hoped to introduce more characters if the show continued (and implied that the royal wizard would be one of them). -Jane is descended from the in-universe version of Joan of Arc & will eventually change her name to pay homage to her ancestor. -Jester has a massive crush on Jane & his real name has been described as “an interesting Roman name” by Martin.

Watched this show. Two things I found funny/interesting Archie being afraid of water because his ancestor ticked off a river god and vowed revenge. So the fear was to keep Archie away from the water and thus safe Neil doesn't get a weapon. Ever. The writers clearly did that because Neil's luck would just have him one shot Cronos. The one time he did use a weapon. It actually looked like it worked!
