  • The medium of video games is still one of the freshest forms of media that’s widely consumed today. But, much like comics and novels, Hollywood has been taking stabs at that market, trying to bring those games to the big screens of the theaters and the little screens in people’s homes. However, that hasn’t been the most consistent endeavor, with their repetitive failures being labeled a curse. But with some higher quality films and shows releasing in the past couple years, I’m starting to lose my grip on what is good, bad, or just plain ok. Luckily, I think I’ve come up with a way to help explain things a bit better.

I'm actually happy you didn't talk about Five nights at freddys.
The flim isn't bad, but it just tried a little too hard to be like all the other flims from the studio that did it. Like it's supposed to be a thiller for families and it does that perfectly. But it's little too far from it's source material, like I understand it a LENGTHY lore, but it's just far enough that flim is sort of it's own thing at this point.

Good question! The first movies that come to mind are Tomb Raider (2018) or Rampage. Maybe season 1 of Halo if we’re looking at shows?
