Is it possible to reset the chunk of fields except poi?
If you type "chunkreset" when you are NOT in the bounds of a POI then a large area is reset except for the POIs. You can mess this up easily. Read the detailed help for the command as I show you how to do in the video. Run at your own risk. Backup first. Test on separate map first. If it goes wrong it is not my fault etc... 🤣

Speaking of hordes, in my multiplayer game all the hordes end at 2am. No idea why as I have not changed anything and its been this way since experimental came out. The only thing I can think of is I set day time to 120 with 4 hour night but that never effected horde nights before in all the previous alphas.
Horde nights are now set to run all night. If the horde starts at 10pm then four hours later is 2am. Which is what you are seeing?!
@@Phys1csGamez it is starting at midnight though and stops at 2 am. So only 2 ingame hours

You take a hint a well, clever boy. Unless they're absentmindedly messing with Blood moon frequency or range on game creation the only thing that I can think of is that they have a mod in their installation directory that isn't being overwritten when they reinstall. Purring like kittens...😂

The person that asked for the horde night bug. Maybe s/he set <blood moon frequency> to disabled in the settings. i never had that bug in 2k hours also a quick search on the 7 days to die forum did not result in a report with a similar bug.
Yes I thought the same. Maybe it is the change in V1.0 that it remembers your settings rather than force them to default when you start a new game. This caught me out when I turn zombies off for a video and then went to start a proper game and didn't realise it now did that.

Dunno if you'll see my comment. BUT can you change biome layout to have the wasteland in the middle? As it just makes ALOT more sense, progression wise. Going around the map and then into the wasteland in the middle.

@Phys1csGamez I'll tell you what would be a cool mod, wouldn't know how to go about it but when your on your bike or whatnot that you could see what ever gun you have equipped on your back or hip if it's a side arm!
Hmm that would be a big change. You would have to see the gun on you at all time which is not already built into the game.
i keep on generating and end up getting only dessert and plains, no snow or wasteland whilst set at 15 percent
Is a bit odd the current generation system. Try increasing the number by a little bit and see what happens. I have also seen this happen when the numbers are low - sometimes it just doesn't bother adding them!?

Great info. But what about the Ocean? It doesn't appear in biomes.png, but I've got large ocean areas on my map and I would like more control over where the ocean is. Does anyone know where the ocean data is?
splat4 is the water. You have to edit the blue layer. It has an alpha channel that is transparent.

Hmmm maybe I could make that in a future video. Certainly will be doing more with the map generation Teragon soon enough.
When you play with the larger maps do the traders give quests to the additional POI's?
The traders give out quests to any POI labelled as questable, within their ruleset. If you have more POIs around a trader more are available. Yet the current problem would be that the number of traders are now limited in the exp version of the game. A simple thing to mod. I just haven't got round to it yet and it is on my list.

My biggest struggle with 7dtd was thunder sounds. They sounded unnatural and way too loud. They finally fixed that in 1.0 with more natural sound. Now I just need to wait for my favorite mods to be available for 1.0 again so I can acutally play the game again xD . Also can't wait for people to upgrade the map generator again. It is better but still lacking.

they need to separate sound effects and ambience because im sick of hearing that loud ass vehicle on long trips, you would think just to turn it down but now zombies make no noise now lol
Yes separating vehicle sounds etc from the rest of the sounds would be good. Most probably can be done with some xml edits though.

Not sure what you mean. The Black Granite texture is there in the paint menu when choosing one?
@@Phys1csGamez Yeah there was an old paint colour that was Black Granite that had flecks in it (in the menu it is no longer there i noticed it disappeared after A20 i thought it must have been part of the huge POI pack
@@Phys1csGamez Ithat paint texture isd more like grey not what it was during A20 cause i used to use the actual black granite my walls and then the grey on the floors and now it is just the grey version
There is a mod about custom textures on nexusmods, I have never had a look at it though. Maybe you could use that to bring it back into your game?

Yeah that would be nice. I think they have an arrow trap in the assets, something like the spike traps with arrows. Not sure only saw it briefly. Static traps would be easy enough. Moving and swinging ones a different beast.
great video and mods, one thing I would like to see someday is a decent subway system in the big cities, with proper underground dungeon crawls.
That would be lovely. Rather than a mod that is a lot of prefabs. And I can see why they would not go near that idea with the way the POIs are placed, to put a tunnel under an existing building would be near impossible. Block stability issues would be the problem. Yet maybe a custom map one day would be possible?!
I wish someone would make a wandering horde mod that you can adjust like in Darkness Falls.
A bunch of mods that change the levels and types of zombies on the horde night is certainly possible.
Why bother taking things out of the game that add realism, like sound from noisy machinery?
I originally made this for A21 as it was requested many times. I like the quieter auger mod when I am playing and have that feeling of a potential migraine attack. I always us it when I am streaming too as a mining grind and chatting with viewers is very annoying. Plenty of people out there have sound sensitivity issues or maybe are not experienced gamers and don't like not being about to hear zombies when mining. Each to their own. Obviously not what you have any need for.

Yes cities are very important. You need bigger ones sometimes. That what the mod helps you achieve. Everything up to massive ones.

What about more textures for painting? i always find it lacking. or the dev paint-brush does not have all the textures unlocked? have no clue. performance is great compair to older versions if you ask me. i just wished they had a good 3de person mode, now that the characters look GREAT.
Search NexusMods for "Custom Textures" - I tried a long while back and it not a simple thing to add.
I have been loving the Massive cities mod. Of course I went in and edited the file to up the sizes about 50% more. NASA computer and all that.
That's what I like to hear. Mess with those numbers and enlarge those cities.

You can spawn pois into existing games. You just have to reset the chunk they're in.
Yes you can. Yet on my channel you can't. If I made a video going through the process how many people would cr f the poop out of their base that they placed a horde base right next to. Not worth the hassle.

That's the + key on the numpad I think. Maybe with a shift or a ctrl. I just mash buttons every time instead of reading the list I spent ages making on my discord.
@@Phys1csGamez No, that's game speed. I've used that one a lot for testing the ai. The shorter the time slice per cycle the more likely the ai manager drops the ball and emergent behaviors are noticeable. It's not actually on any of your cheat sheets, or are you talking about some other list? Next time you're button mashing and you find it. Let me know.
Will do. The speed on a UK keyboard is the + next too the numbers at the top of the keyboard. I am talking about the numerical keypad of the right of a full size keyboard.

What make the in game model like the Ai version!? Hmm that is currently outside my unity ability. If I ever learn how to do models properly I would be focussing on the juggle physics.

I have done this already for A21. What I have not done is get round to checking to see if it works and if not fixing it for v1. It will happen soon enough.

corner bars block is something ive needed many times, idk why its not in game already. a mod that id like is one that when i click respawn near backpack it instead spawns me near my land claim block, ive only played with xmls so far
Might be possible? I think respawn may be hard coded into the game. Never really looked though. Having more that one land claim would be an issue.
@@Phys1csGamez it should be possible, but learning the language required might take more time than i have free. at least, it would require a script to teleport the player to their last built land claim block, at best it would change the target of the 'respawn near backpack' button from backpack to landclaim (much like a localization file does for xml data that already exists)
Yes definitely would require a script as not enough in just the XML to do this. Some young bright spark might give it a go one day. That won't be me. I wish I had the skills to do so.

Not a bad video But when it comes to the performance section there are a couple of things I noticed that you may want to change, first one being the Texture Quality given that I believe you have a RTX 3070 that only has 8GB of VRam you should lower it to half Texture Quality setting otherwise it will max out your VRam and you will loose performance and get micro stutters. Another thing is any setting you have on Ultra should be lowered to just High as there isnt a big change to the visuals BUT it will help save some performance. If you can live without live Dynamic mesh (world poi's at a distance get updated if you make any changes to them) this setting is best turned off to save some performance as well.

i was wondering i do a lot of archery in the game and i am sick of not being able to see arrows left behind due to them being brown on the quivers making them match the wood in some places is there a mod that can make the arrows stand out so i can see the bloody things to pick em up ..i know they dont cost much to make but i often walk around and see the odd arrow floating in the air any help on this would be great and i love the mods no problems here for me in them not working great work ..
I think that is a great idea. I have had a few other players ask me to do this too. I'd like to, but replacing the arrows with brightly colored versions would be a major mod undertaking. It's not just an easy xml edit, it's adding new assets. I'll ask some colleagues about what it would take...

It should be that hard. Just import the existing arrow and change the colour. Then just replace or add the item.

Is it possible to make the trader progression just completely random?
I have not had the time to put the effort into this... yet. It is already on my long list. The problem is that the progression is very much built into the xml and a lot will need to be rewritten. I will be looking at what I can take out and replace from the A21 to attempt to achieve this.
1:08 PG is saying everyone should stop putting the their mods here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods . Instead, put your mods here: YourDriveLetter:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Mods .
That is certainly what we should all be doing since A20.6. Both folder work. I would guess both will always work. I just think the habit of using the technically correct one is worth everyone learning.

I’m getting big cities everywhere except forest, and really big in wasteland… forest is normal and not effected at all. I tried using massive cities alone, massive with boosted all biomes and still not working right
Without sharing your screen (you are welcome to find me over on my discord for help) I can only guess that the mods are not correctly installed. I hopefully can address this on my video later today.

This amazing. You got one of the rarest reactions from me when I saw the huge cities - I actually exclaimed "Motherf%^&*%!" out loud. I can't WAIT to give this a try! Loved your world gen mods in A21, but if it's possible, this could be even better :)

Can't get any of these mods to work. I have my main game on a different drive than C: drive. I've installed all other mods into the mods folder on that drive. Zero issues. Extracting the mods dl'd from the Nexus into the users/appdata/roaming/7days mod folder doesn't do anything (I've never had to install a mod here before). I am playing on the 1.0 experimental branch, but I thought that's what these mods are for? What is my stupidity not letting me see what I am doing wrong?? Sucks being dumb.
Well you are not dumb. Something is just not in the right place for now and we can fix it. So briefly the reason I say you install the mod in the roaming folder is that this is the official place for the mods to go and was said by the game developers to be the only place we should put them (since A21) due to a Windows requirement. The other Mods folder still exists though and still works as a place that you can put the mods instead. In fact, since the latest experimental was released they have their own server mod appearing in that folder. So first troubleshooting... 1. Did you name the Mods folder "Mods" or "mods"? The capital letter M is required. 2. When you go into the Mods folder do you see a directory/folder and inside that the ModInfo.xml and then a further Config directory/folder? If so then the structure is correct. If not you need to move things around. 3. For now you could just use the mods in the old "Mods" folder located with the game files and they will still work. I don't mention the original Mods folder so my video will still be correct in the future if they ever do move over to exclusively using the new Mods folder. So can these mods be removed after generating the map or do you need to keep it on the client, for example. if i generated a map upload it to my server, do all clients need the mod(s)?
The only mod from this video that you need to keep with the map is the Forest Jen. That particular mod changes the progression route in the xml so it all works. All the other mods are just for the generation phase.

super new to the game, awesome mods, unforutnately my game doest let me choose the biome layout, the option just isnt there and id like to make the forrest at the center like you did. is there any fix for this?
Are you playing the latest experimental version? If you are playing the standard install then you are still playing with A21 which does not do the centre forest biome maps.

You only need the mods to generate the maps. The only difference is with Forest Jen mod. This is needed by all players or just the server if you are setting one up. This mod has to change game code to get the trade progression right. Give it about a week or two and the game should update to version 1 from alpha 21 rather than you have to opt into the latest experimental.
