Triumph Speed 400 vs Triumph Scrambler 400 X - ridden & rated
I’ve had mine since 2019 and it’s a great do-it-all bike even though it’s a cruiser and the looks especially without the headlight fairing is super!
Reasonable review but you didn’t even demonstrate or mention one of the key features of the Sport Glide, that being the quickly detachable panniers and fairing that transform the bike from a light duty tourer into a standard looking cruiser!
How can you get used to one hot leg over a period of time? To answer my own question, you don't. The Scrambler is a posing bike that can't really do off-road and not that good on road, which it fine as it's a handsome machine yet the Speed Twin is a decent road bike but lacks that little extra. Give it some better suspension to make it a really good road bike for B-road hooning. Tarnished pipes...Are you aware how bloody hot the gases are exiting the cylinders. This reviewer does not give me confidence.
My 350 takes pride of place under the staircase of my house.
ramp the oil mix up to max - you should always run between 7-9000 rev - I used to get white pips like a four stroke - change break fluid very 3 months - replace the coolant every 6 months
Tdc to start is just basics
To much MODERN RIDING GEAR to ride those old bikes. 🤠
Is there a hop up kit for it.
Great looking bike, maybe a disc up front...
if you loved the LC then try a Suzuki RG500
Hi! what do you think about BSA b50.
I think the Nimbus is the most beautiful and well thought out machine I’ve ever seen 😊❤👍🏻✨
Been on an RD 350 when they first came out...when it hits the power band ..nothing comes close....
I love the old British singles, built in for reliability, & economical to use. Having a long stroke, gives these old bikes lots of bottom end grunt. Most modern bikes are short stroke & high revving, these days. Today, young people seem to put speed before the pleasure, or is it the manufacturers who build into these bikes: "planned obsolescence??? High revs, short life! Personally, I would love to own a BSA, M21. Which can be stroked up to 650cc.
EFi on bikes is something I haven't tried. 961 2nd gen will get less expensive so till then I'll leave it to people who can't live without one. Design team did a great job but hobbled by regs. Notice they talk about horsepower, torque is what matters and it doesn't really stack up there.
Might pick one up at some point. All the add ons reduce the value so it's a win win. Not had EFi on a bike but mostly seems to work for cars.
The first gen Thruxton R was a much prettier bike.
Kwak 750 2 stroke, the bike that scared me the most but good fun.
Mine would not start the first day that i got it. Got it to the shop and they i guess fixed it and now it is doing it all over again and it is back in the shop again. I made a video of what it is doing on my channel. I would turn the key to start and and got nothing, i would then turn it off and turn it back on and it would fire right up. It does this ALL THE TIME!!
Had a 250/350 and 350YPVS back in the day. Loved them all, holed a piston two up on the way to Holyhead - not a machine for touring !
to make an interesting comparison for you,, try a Kawasaki KH400 and/or a Suzuki GT550 although all 2T bikes, they are all very different machines to ride.
Very good review of a couple of great bikes 👍🏽👍🏽
Sorry guys, I tried all the new stuff, but I will stick with my 92 evo springer. Took it to the USA in 94 for a month. Never let me down. 100k on the clock and still going strong. All you need to enjoy the ride is a bike, not a play station on two wheels. Old school I guess at 72 years. Been riding Harleys since the AMF days when you had to tighten things up every time you stopped.
WOW what a great job you did
The C25, had high comp piston, & could be a bad starter. Change piston to power max 8.5 to 1, no more problems. Personally I liked the C11G plunger. It had a longer wheelbase than the C15 with a lower seating position. Also the old M21 side valve, with tall gearing would be great for runs. As you can tell by my choices, I have a few more years under my belt. Thanks for your run down of BSAs, we are happy as people have kept these old bikes going in for us to enjoy today. Thanks again, 🇬🇧🔧😀
A set of ACE Bars could help with being more comfortable and better rider position. Very nice bike.
Great video. Nice to have a lady’s perspective. I can assure you, the challenges/cons are also faced by many of us guys too! 😅 quick question: where did you get your boots? I wouldn’t mind a pair of those myself (not that I don’t have enough already… 🤷🏾♂️)
Definitely one of my favorite Harley. Put Thrashin Supply risers and bars, mid controls and Memphis Road Warrior wearing, Saddlemen step up seat and a Vance & Hines 2 into 1 exhaust and you got a great bike!
Great burnout...
I was totally mesmerized by the fuel tank design and then you diss all over it? Wow! I have been watching a few videos on this bike, but never seen this color before and thought this was some newer model, but looked it up and it's not. That bike right there, is BEAUTIFUL! I don't know if it's the lighting, angle or what but wow! If I get a 350 RE, it's going to be that one! I mean the tank flows right into the seat. Oh, sorry, I was slobbering. lol!
H-D does not sell that model in the USA.
I don’t think Americans got the sportglide when it came out it didn’t get the 114 engine as an option and it was the most European type of bike in the range. The company dropped it a couple of years ago in America and I don’t think it has much of a future elsewhere as the bike is getting no attention in terms of upgrades ,colour matched pannier shells is about it and the colour choices of black and primer grey isn’t that inspiring . Personally out of the softail range it is the one I would buy I just wish it came in a better range of colours.
That KX, shut up and take my money !,
Best Harley ever made , best bike ever made
Wow spitting image of the first madman bike … sounds like like it to enjoy it and never get rid off it. Excellent job…
The Harley brings out Lana’s hooligan!👍
Is it true that in the U.K. that Harleys cost even more than the King's ransom that they cost in the USA ? But at least for your money you're getting a proper amount of chrome and polished metal. I'M LOOKING AT YOU , TRIUMPH! The, uh, Harley "community" over here is probably a bit different than it is in the UK. And no, that's usually not a good thing.
The wonderful thing about “fob” ignition is when you discover you’ve dropped said fob on the ground 150 miles back…
Or when the battery on fob takes a shit
I think Harley has lost their mind with the prices, proportionally they have raised them much more than other brands, and selling the bike unpainted, not even in black, is undoubtedly a masterstroke...
The "billiard grey" fad in cars and bikes is an ugly one. It'll pass. Looks like primer and nobody bothered to complete the paint job on it. .
@@skymningforelsket1302 I think that's actually what they are doing, saving pennies, but charging full price
@@Sr.D Over here, they are usually offered in 4 colors or so. The grey is the standard (exhorbitant) price. Then add $295, $395, and $495 depending on which of the 3 other colors you want.
It looks like my recliner, that only cost $700.
@@rickcrammond6330 😁
Marvellous machine!
Yawn.
After 5 yrs riding a 1200 Sportster I recently switched to a 2022 Sport Glide with J&H exhaust. I absolutly love that bike, very smoth and easy to handle, very comfy and quite powerful.
I like the bike but the wheels spoil the look. Great low seat for the shorter person but the foot contols look too far forward.
Part-time Harley got a good rap for one of the scoots she seemed to be honest about it
Kx is beautiful and unique than anything available at this point, RE should focus more on developing better engines than just releasing similar bike every month. Would love to see that KX into production.
Good review Lana, even though I’m not a Harley fan, I can see the appeal for some riders. I think they are overpriced. Best part of the review are the red boots.👍. Cheers and ride safe, Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Harley Davidson copied my Yamaha V Star 1300 Deluxe :)
They can't copy reliability, though.
“THE” bike of all bikes for me.
I'm 65, and going back the XLCR have a long history of liking Harleys that go on to be market flops. This Sport Glide is the latest one. It seems that any combination of sportiness and practicality is showroom death. Is this really a 2024 model? Here in Canada it's no longer available. It's pretty much been replaced by the Low Rider ST. I prefer this version with 2 into 1 exhaust, lower bag position, and smaller fairing. Oh, and I like the red boots too. "..and the angels wanna wear my red shoes."
Why does the Pope wear red shoes?
Harley use the same engine and chassis throughout their softtail range. They just mix and match bits to produce a different variety. This bike has road glide/ Street glide panniers, a Heritage Classic gas tank and instruments, street Bob rear lights standard softtail frame and the now almost obsolete 107 cui version of the M8 motor. If a particular configuration doesn't sell no loss because all Harley bikes are out of same parts bins.
Way over priced. But then you get to hang out with the latte crowd.
i'm more of an instant coffee man meself..that probably explains why i ride crappy old bikes.
Oh, Tom… really?
@@nigelcox7477 Yes Nigel. Truly.
Have you not seen the price of any bike recently?
@@ogribiker8535 Yes I have. And every motorcycle that is priced in this range is vastly superior to this bike.
Nice boots, Lana! :)
