    Great review. I have a helinox cot and it packs down pretty small. They can be a little uncomfortable though as the tension is tight. Snow peak cot looks comfortable and looks more like the cot I slept on in my military days. Not sure if you’ve tried the helinox cot but comparing it to the snow peak would be pretty cool. I may have to add the snow peak cot to my cart

      Yeah definitely not the cheapest or lightest cot but the materials and build quality are top notch as it should be at this price point. And I agree, leg protectors should be included. Thanks for watching!

  • @barfly79

    The cot looks very cool and the legs remind me of their single action tables. Only drawback for me (along with Helinox) is that they don't offer a wider version. That's the advantage that mats have. Now, if I could place my wide mat on a wide cot....

    Thanks for the review :) While its a really cool, well thought out design, you cannot say its the best designed cot on the market - you don't know all the cots on the market - I have about 5 myself as I have tried to find the best one for my needs - I would not even consider this one for me as I prefer to be higher off the ground. But again, thanks for the review:)

      Hey, thank you for your feedback! I have tested most of the mainstream cots out and feel the Snow Peak is the nicest all around. However, the height off the floor and pack size are two areas I wish I touched more on in this video. • @sehoonkim2131
    @sehoonkim2131 Před 5 dny

    Best cot perhaps from a perspective of ease of set up and maybe sleeping comfort, but most campers will probably find it too bulky to pack and store. Another downer is that it's stored in a sock like pouch rather than a zippered bag (unlike the FES model).

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 5 dny

      Oh didn't know the Festival had a Zippered bag, not sure why they don't just include that one right now, as it would be a much nicer user experience! I agree though, it's a little big to always bring along, but a lot of cots I've seen other than Helinox are slightly shorter but heavy with cheap plastic/steel components. Thank you for watching!

  • @yisimlampiris-tremba2247

    This one will have to wait. But, you are right, the cot seems like it performs well. I have to say it’s gorgeous too. The price is a little up, but I think after looking at other You Tubers, who had it, it’s a very nice well made cot. It will last. Thank you for your showing us the cot.

    Thank you for putting together this video. I've been interested in buying the Snow Peak IGT for my extended road trip (4 to 6 months) visiting family and friends. However, I'm wondering how the other accessories (Grill Burner, Double burner stove, & Double BBQ Box) would work with the table? I'm guessing in my case I should consider the 4 unit instead of the 3 unit. I'm also wondering if the burner(s) works with propane using the Kovea adapter? Have you tried using propane with your burner?

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 9 dny

      Hey, yes definitely the 4 unit, especially for the stoves you’re considering. The Double burner is a great choice and the included wind screen will be beneficial on the road as weather may be unpredictable. Each of the stoves you mentioned integrate perfectly with the IGT and will give lots of versatility cooking wise. I haven’t converted mine to propane, but if you reach out to @encyphered he would be a great resource. I hope you have a great trip, it sounds like you’ll be having an awesome camp setup for the drive up! Also, not sure if you’re already part of the snowpeak addicts facebook community, but that’s also a great place to chat with others on the gear!

    Hello, Ryan :) I’m a big fan of your content. I do have a question, sorry to bother. I’m new to camping and I’d hate to admit that I’m scared of wild animals. Can I ask for tips or how you personally avoid things like bears or where I’m from theres boars and coyotes. I saw that you threw away your dish water a couple of yards away from your tent. Is there anything else specific you do?

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 10 dny

      Hey, thank you for bringing up this question, definitely an important topic and too often neglected by many campers. The best thing you can do to avoid an encounter is to keep a clean campsite free of trash and any food, especially if you plan on leaving your site for a hike or to bed. We keep our trash stored in a Husky waterproof bin away from the tent, but while we are cooking, we use a smaller dry bag style Sea to Summit brand trash bag and dispose of it when full in the Husky Bin. Try to avoid anything scented inside your tent even toothpaste, lotions etc. can be a problem with mice. At night, we lock up our cooler and dry food bin in our vehicle. In the daytime while you are present, it would be pretty rare for an encounter, but it's not a bad idea if you know your in area with these animals to have bear spray or similar. Personally, I don't bring any bear spray, but I do keep my car keys close at hand and if a bear were to enter my site, I would just press the panic button alarm, which should scare it off. Essentially, properly storing food/trash and scented items away from your tent when you're asleep or away is key to prevent an encounter. Hope this helps and thanks again for bringing this up!

    Contemplating a powered cooler. Would you recommend the Oyster cooler instead? I noticed you've been using the Oyster more than your Dometic cooler and Yeti coolers? Thank you!

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 10 dny

      I’d say it all depends on how long you’re at camp and also how much you plan to bring food & drink wise. Without a doubt, for overnight trips the Oyster is very convenient for how small and lightweight it is. Yeti is great as well and while it’s more durable, it’s much heavier/bulkier. The Dometic has been great and our CFX 25 can last a 2 night trip on the Dometic battery. Since I’ve been doing more overnight camping the oyster has been the most convenient.

  • @Mushroom_Samba
    @Mushroom_Samba Před 13 dny

    Hey Ryan! Hope all is good! Quick question about the Fubi: Since we are still looking for an all-year alternative for our Alpha Breeze, would the Fubi be optimal in cold weather conditions? Snow, heavy rain, freezing temperatures? And because you did not mention it, I suppose there is no dedicated outlet for a wood stove, right? So, do you see yourself sitting in this tent in those conditions?

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 12 dny

      Hey, while I'm pretty confident the Fubi could handle some of those conditions just fine, I don't think it was intended for camping in the snow. I'd lean more towards a doc dome or similar pro. series shelter for that. There is no dedicated outlet for a wood stove, I'm thinking to place mine at one of the small door openings when it gets colder out. In late fall and winter, I'll also bring along a propane heater which should help keep the shelter temps somewhat warmer. I'll be taking this shelter out frequently this year so I'll keep you posted on how it handles some of these conditions! Thanks for watching and your comment, always nice to hear from you!

  • @wiredfractal
    @wiredfractal Před 13 dny

    We currently use a Mesh Shelter connected to a Large Amenity Dome. Agree with how difficult it is to set up a shelter on your own. I also have an old model of the Living Shell, it’s a two-man job to set up. I’m interested to see if Fubi can be integrated with other SP tent, like not directly connected but in a way that you can pair a tarp with another tents awning type of connection. We camp with our 6 dogs so they like the enclose space of a shelter compared to a tarp.

    Can you talk about the hot tent stove chimney setup? How did you get stove chimney to support that bend ?

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 17 dny

      I purchased two 45degree pipe sections and definitely recommend it if using under a tarp. I’ve always used it this way and it feels very sturdy. If it’s windy, I bring ropes to tie down the chimney as there are metal hooks on the top insert. I went with the winnerwell nomad medium, but probably would go for the large if I did it again.

    Is the tent resistant from the rain?

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 20 dny

      Yes they are water resistant. On my latest video, right around 11minutes in, I show hosing it down with my garden hose and the water just beads right off the fabric. However, keep in mind during longer periods of rain and heavy rain the fabric may start to soak more, but water will not enter the tent. During the rainy seasons I use a tarp over my springbar and have recently got their Stormfly which should help keep the tent dryer. Thank you for watching!

    Thanks for putting the review together! Comparing the Leisure Port to the Snow Peak shelters (Hexa Evo Pro); if you could only have one, which one?

    • @rtmadani
      @rtmadani Před 20 dny

      Ahh this is tough, but I think it really depends if you want the option to have an inclosed shelter or just a tarp. They are both very useful and each have their own advantages. The Evo Pro gives you ample covered area while being significantly lighter and smaller to bring along. However, the Leisure Port gives you more privacy with fabric panels and can create a bug free zone for warmer weather camping. I like using both for different situations, but I will say you can't turn the evo pro inter a shelter, so there is more versatility going with the Leisure Port.

    Lag bolts with washers are the way to go! Especially with the bigger Springbar tents. I have a Skyliner and the lag bolts are a HUGE time saver.

      Nice, good to hear! I'm going to try this method out!

  • @yisimlampiris-tremba2247

    Wow, thank you so much on your great review on the shelter. Besides the Snow peak, I really like Springbar tents. Also thank you for clarifying about having four mesh, going to have to buy another set. Which is fine. So I will have to saving my money for the Vagabond, then this shelter. But going to the Grand Canyon first for our anniversary, using the Alpha Breeze. Thanks again!😃

      I agree, both Snow Peak and Springbar make some pretty amazing gear! Have fun at that Grand Canyon, sounds like an awesome trip! Thank you for watching!
